It seems a rematch between his fighter Manny Pacquiao and the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Junior is never far from Freddie Roach’s mind. Out in Australia for this Saturday’s WBO welterweight title fight defence against unbeaten puncher Jeff Horn, Roach and Pac Man have again been talking Mayweather, and a possible (though, it seems to most people, extremely unlikely) rematch.

Guillermo Rigondeaux’s KO over Moises Flores overturned, is now a no decision
As fans may recall, super-bantamweight king Guillermo Rigondeaux left his unbeaten mandatory challenger Moises Flores in a heap after just three minutes of action on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev rematch card in Las Vegas on June 17 – the big left hand that inflicted the damage coming a split second after the bell had sounded to end the opening round of the 122 pound title fight.
The gifted Cuban, often labelled boring and, ironically, incapable of scoring KO’s, denied any intentional wrongdoing, yet Mexico’s Flores claimed otherwise, stating how it is his belief that Rigondeaux waited until he dropped his hands and then lowered the boom. It seems the officials agree with Flores, as the result has been changed, officially yesterday, and the KO win is now in the books as a no decision.
World Boxing Super Series eight-man cruiserweight tournament line-up gets even hotter with addition of KO-King Kudryashov
A while back, it was announced how, in September of this year, an eight-man cruiserweight tournament would take place; with the prestigious Muhammad Ali trophy up for grabs. Almost immediately, three great cruiserweights, reigning world champions no less, signed on for the expected thriller of a tournament.
WBC king Mairis Breidis is in, as is WBA champ Yunier Dorticos, as well as IBF ruler Murat Gassiev. All three champs are undefeated, involved in exciting fights and they can all punch. But to add to the excitement, it has been announced how former champ Krzysztof Wlodarczyk is also set to take part and, perhaps most excitingly of all, KO-King Dmitry Kudryashov has also reportedly signed on.

Two-division World Boxing Association (WBA) World Champion Beibut Shumenov has relinquished his WBA cruiserweight world title, due to his career-ending eye injury, and he has announced his retirement from the ring.
Chavez wants Margarito, then a title shot
Okay, the above headline is admittedly guilty of suggesting a quite mouth-watering fight; but even if it is not referring to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr against Antonio Margarito, in what would be an all-Mexican bad boy Vs. bad boy match-up, the possible fight in the headline is a good one all the same.
Omar Chavez, the less famous son of Chavez Snr, has a good record at 36-3-1(24) and the 154-pounder wants to get a fight with former welterweight king Margarito and then a shot at a world title.
Joseph Parker-Hughie Fury: The fight that won’t go away is coming to Manchester, UK in September
The on/off Joseph Parker-Hughie Fury fight is back on – for Manchester, UK on September 23. As fans may recall, the two, after much wrangling, were all set to fight in WBO champion Parker’s home country of New Zealand on May 6, only for Fury to pull out with a back injury.
Now, in what will be his first fight on “enemy territory,” the unbeaten Parker will meet the unbeaten Fury, his mandatory challenger, in Manchester. Parker tells NZ.Stuff that he is looking forward to the challenge:

Will former heavyweight ruler Tyson Fury ever get himself into decent enough fighting shape to be able to launch the ring return he has been speaking about for some time now? Mayweather Vs. Gatti: Floyd at his meanest
Going into the fight that took place 12 years ago today, there were plenty of fight fans bracing themselves for a great fight, a competitive fight. Instead, what we saw when Floyd Mayweather Junior challenged Arturo Gatti for his WBC 140-pound belt was a massacre.
Boxing his pay-per-view debut, Mayweather, aged 28, sporting a 33-0 record and at his blinding peak, dismantled the hugely popular Gatti in every which way. Gatti, who had gone beyond the call in his three wars with Mickey Ward, convinced his fans, most of them anyway, that he would be too rough, tough and hungry for Mayweather. Instead, Mayweather fought one of his most aggressive, ruthless and nasty fights.
