OPI 2000 Press release/ WBC SIlver lightweight title, the weigh-in

Today, at Leonardo Da Vinci Rome Airport Hotel in Fiumicino (close to Rome), Salvatore Cherchi’s OPI 2000 held the official weigh-in of the fighters who will enter the ring tomorrow at Fiumicino’s soccer stadium. In the main event, Emiliano Marsili (Italy, 31-0-1) and Gamaliel Diaz (Mexico, 38-12-3) will fight for the vacant WBC Silver lightweight championship. Sakima Mullings Has His Eyes On The Prize

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – It didn’t matter the opponent, or the venue. What mattered to welterweight contender Sakima Mullings, is that he ended the fight with his hand raised in victory.

Bill Richmond honoured

A permanent memorial to pioneering black boxer Bill Richmond (1763-1829) will be unveiled by Earl George Percy at the Tom Cribb pub, in Panton Street, London on Wednesday 26 August 2015 at 2pm.

A portrait of Richmond and a plaque summarizing his amazing life and career will adorn the wall of the historic pub owned by Shepherd Neame brewery in recognition of Richmond’s position in history as the first black sportsman to achieve international fame and significance. Continue reading

Rojas And Singleton Battle For UBO Latino Title

Manuel Rey Rojas is set to fight Chris Singleton for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization Latino Lightweight title on Saturday August 8, 2015 at the Waco Convention Center in Waco, Texas.

Fighting out of Dallas Texas, Rojas turned professional in 2011 and racked up nine straight victories before hitting a rough patch in 2014, losing twice in a row on points to Alexis Del Bosque (4-2) in Forth Worth and Casey Ramos (18-0) in San Antonio. Continue reading
