Promoter Eddie Hearn, in speaking with Talk Sport, said there have been talks with Luis Ortiz’ team regarding a possible fight with Dereck Chisora.
38 year old British ring warrior Dereck Chisora really does want that talked of fight with Deontay Wilder. Despite many people being against the fight, with some even suggesting a fight against the lethal-hitting former WBC heavyweight champ would amount to career suicide, and despite Chisora’s own trainer, Dave Coldwell, saying he wants no part of the fight – “War,” as Chisora is known, is bang up for it.
Eddie Hearn says he wants to put a fight together between Dereck Chisora and either Chris Arreola or Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz for his next fight in April.
Dereck “War’ Chisora says he’s ready and willing to fight Deontay Wilder next if the contest is offered to him. The former world title challenger Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs) says he wants to fight two or three times in 2022, so a bout with Wilder makes sense.
Dereck Chisora does not like to be told what to do. The 38 year old ring warrior has more than made that clear, with all those people who are concerned for his well-being and wish to see him retire being, well, ignored.

It’s great when a fighter’s trainer actually cares about the health and the well-being of his fighter. Too many times in this sport, we have seen trainers who were too brave, who put their guy in the ring with whoever.
You might have caught Eddie Hearn, soon after British warhorse Dereck Chisora’s brave but losing effort against Joseph Parker in their rematch, saying how he feels Chisora would beat Deontay Wilder “if the fight goes past four rounds.”
