At today’s official weigh-in at the Bierkeller in Liverpool, undefeated WBO World Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Smith and Montenegrin challenger Predrag Radosevic both hit the weight on the scales ahead of tomorrow’s world title showdown at the Echo Arena.

We are rapidly approaching what would be a thrilling fight between Mexican Warriors on Saturday, June 4th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Francisco ‘El Bandido’ Vargas versus Orlando ‘Siri’ Salido will battle in what will sure to be a candidate for fight of the year for Vargas’ WBC Super Featherweight Championship live on HBO Boxing After Dark.
HBO is by far the best network in boxing and the StubHub Center is one of the best venues to watch live boxing in southern California. The StubHub is no stranger to great fights and this fight is surely going to down as one of the best fights of the year and it will add to the book at the StubHub Center.
L. Ellerbe – Thank you. Now we’ll bring the main event. It’s a rematch of the 2012 technical draw and you know both men are going to want to settle the score. So first up I’d like to introduce, he comes to us with 36 and 2 record with 21 KO’s. He’s fighting out of Glendale, California. He represented the United States in the 2004 Olympics. He’s a very very tough fighter. He’s been in with just about everybody. He fought the likes of Ishe Smith,who’s part of the Mayweather promotions stabl, Willie Nelson and Demetrius Andrade. He fought Lara. He’s been a pro for 11 years. He turned pro in April, 2005 and he’s a very very good fighter. And we also look forward to a very exciting fight. Leonard Ellerbe – I would like to thank everyone for joining us on the call today. We have an exciting tripleheader of Super Welterweight World Title fights. It will be headlined by Cuban sensation and WBA Super Welterweight World Champion, Erislandy Lara against exciting challenger and 2004 U.S. Olympian, Vanes Martirosyan in a rematch of their 2012 technical draw.
In our co-main event, and up-and-coming star, the IBF Junior Middleweight World Champion, Jermall Charlo taking on the toughest challenge of his career in former World Champion, Austin Trout.
British boxing could see another champion crowned tonight in Las Vegas, and at the end of the month, on the 29th, still another Brit could win a world title. Amir Khan goes up against the formidable Saul Canelo Alvarez tonight, in what is arguably the biggest fight of the year. And on May 29th in his native Liverpool, Tony Bellew goes in with another formidable, if less known foe in rock-hard and tricky southpaw Ilunga “Junior” Makabu.
Former amateur standout Jason Quigley of Ireland is now one of the hottest prospects in boxing. The unbeaten middleweight is 10-0(9) and on Saturday night’s Canelo Alvarez-Amir Khan card in Las Vegas, the 24-year-old will take a step up in class against the experienced James De La Rosa.
Quigley, who is signed by Golden Boy and Sheer Sports, is hugely excited about the fight and is looking forward to putting on an impressive performance.
