Carl Frampton Yes. I’m just excited about this fight. It’s a huge fight. I’ve been involved in some pretty big fights back home in the UK which haven’t really caught the public’s imagination in the States. But I think that this fight will. I think that this is going to be the first time really in my career.
It’s a world-class opponent who’s coming to win and he really believes that he’s going to win this fight.
The main event on Saturday, July 30, again, SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXINGS beginning 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, 6:00 p.m. Pacific time, is one of the most anticipated matchups in the featherweight division, but really one of the most anticipated matchups in all of boxing and certainly all of the lower weight classes.
Leo Santa Cruz with a record of 32-0-1 with 18 KOs. One of the most exciting featherweights in the world. The same can be said of Carl Frampton, undefeated at 22-0 with 14 KOs from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Welcome, everybody, to the Santa Cruz-Frampton telephone call. The event is Saturday, July 30, 2016, on SHOWTIME. The action begins on SHOWTIME at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time; that’s 6:00 p.m, Pacific time from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The main event is Leo Santa Cruz versus Carl Frampton for the WBA World Featherweight Championship. The co-featured SHOWTIME bout features Mikey Garcia versus former champion, Elio Rojas. Both men are former champions. It’s a junior welterweight 10-round bout.
It’s been an interesting 18 months for Polish heavyweight contender Izu Ugonoh. After moving to Las Vegas and hooking up with veteran trainer Kevin Barry, Ugonoh found his career tracking in the right direction with a busy schedule in 2015 that saw him own a highlight reel KO over Will Quarrie accompanied by a steady rise to number 15 in the WBO rankings.
Just at the point of launching into the next tier of higher ranked heavyweight opponents Izu, whose sporting profile was now growing steadily in his native Poland, was offered an opportunity to appear on their version of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ With the potential to exponentially grow his fan base and popularity in Poland being too good to pass up,Izustarted the year by trading in his boxing gloves for dancing shoes.
Since you’ve been working with Freddie, what’s been the biggest improvement in your game?
VIKTOR POSTOL: Every training camp that I’m here, I’m getting more serious. I’m getting more power, more speed, learning new combinations with Freddie. Overall, improving in every fashion.
Super bantamweight boxer Shelly “Shelito’s Way” Vincent (17-0, 1 KO ) looks to keep her undefeated record in tact as shefights for the third time this year on July 21st at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, against an opponent to be named at a later date. The UBF and WIBA titleholder from Providence, Rhode Island is poised to make women’s boxing more mainstream and take her career to the next level, starting with a potential bout against undefeated archrival, WBC super bantamweight, Heather “The Heat” Hardy (17-0, 4 KOs), hopefully at some point this year.

OnJune 11, 2016, Junior Welterweight prospect Mike “Yes Indeed” Reed (19-0, 11 KOs)earned one of the biggest wins of his career by dispatching of Abraham Cordero (13-3, 7 KOs) by technical knockout after beating the game Mexican fighter over 6 lopsided rounds at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York.
The bout, showcased onthe Martinez vs. Lomachenko undercard, was a statement fight for Reed, who downed Cordero in the first round before stopping his foefive rounds later. The knockout loss was the first of Cordero’s pro career.
