The upcoming May 5 rematch between middleweight giants Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez could take place in New York, at the historic Madison Square Garden. Although Las Vegas, scene of course of the first fight back in September, remains the frontrunner to host the anticipated rematch, Madison Square Garden is being strongly considered.

Who will Manny Pacquiao fight next – Mike Alvarado? Lucas Matthysse?
There are a couple of names being bandied around as possible comeback foes for Manny Pacquiao, who is not done yet with boxing even though he will turn 40 before the year is out. Now that we can forget (for the time being) about a Pacquiao challenge of current P-4-P king Vasyl Lomachenko, two other names appear to have more of a realistic shot at getting in there with Pac-Man this spring: Mike Alvarado and Lucas Matthysse.
Ike Ibeabuchi: What might have been
Though he was released from a US prison some months back (or is it years?) there will be no ‘George Foreman- style comeback’ for the man who turns 45 years old today. Nigerian powerhouse Ikemefula Charles Ibeabuchi: how great, how special might he have become had he not lost the plot and got himself put away for the charge of attempted rape, in Las Vegas in 2009?
Tyson Fury vs Shannon Briggs? Fury Vs. Antonio Tarver? Interesting fights or not?
Tyson Fury has placed a dangling carrot in the direction of two big names who once ruled the world and commanded the attention the 29 year old, unbeaten former heavyweight champ enjoys (this despite the fact that Fury has not boxed in well over two long years).
Frank Bruno: A National Treasure
The eternally popular Frank Bruno is a national treasure in this country. Every time ‘Big Frank’ entered the squared circle to fight, the entire British nation was behind him. Tyson Fury no longer Ring Magazine heavyweight champion, and no closer to announcing a date for his comeback fight
As was expected due to his inactivity and the fact that he has no next bout announced, Tyson Fury has been stripped of the coveted Ring Magazine heavyweight title. Fury had been notified by The Ring how he had until January 31 (yesterday) to officially announce a fight and opponent lest he be stripped. No announcement came, thus Fury has indeed been stripped.

One big win and, in heavyweight boxing, a fighter can find himself right back at the top. And David Price, who we all know needs a big win if he’s to remain relevant, looks all set to get this kind of chance in March. Promoter Eddie Hearn hopes this week to be able to officially announce David Price Vs. Alexander Povetkin for the under-card of the March 31 heavyweight unification showdown between WBA/IBF champ Anthony Joshua and WBO ruler Joseph Parker.
Will Golovkin and Alvarez fight three times? Should they do so?
There’s no such thing as too much of a good or a great thing, right? As fans everywhere are still celebrating how middleweight rivals Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez, who are both placed highly in the mythical pound-for-pound rankings, will fight their return bout on May 5, there is even talk of a third fight between the two stars; of boxing’s next great trilogy.
Linares vs Lomachenko a possibility for April or May; talks underway
If things turn out as promoters Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya want them to, 2018 could turn out to be one of the best boxing years in a lone time, big fights-wise. We’ve just heard how GGG-Canelo II is on for May 5, and there are talks underway regarding another fight between pound-for-pound stars going at it.
Like Father Like Son: Miguel Tyson the spitting image of his father during his teen years
Might we one day see another explosive, powerful, fast and dynamic fighter named Tyson rise to the top of the heavyweight division? If looks, and genetics are anything to go by, Mike Tyson’s 15 year old son, Miguel Leon Tyson, might just become a formidable fighter and give it a try one day in the not too distant future.
