I have to agree with you…wasn’t my best work. Doesn’t matter though, Martinez dominated Chavez. The kid is an amateur who wouldn’t know how to engage, counter, cut off the ring, jab…..anything if his life depended on it. The only thing he’s good at is going to the body against a stationary object. Chavez proved that he ain’t nothing. Worse than that – he embarrased himself and his name. Oh well, maybe Cotto can smack that arse around as well for a few mill.

Martinez will KO Chavez by 5 in the rematch. Why? Without dopey taking dope, he’ll be more aggressive & SM will walk him onto a hammer left! This is why the rematch/mis-match won’t happen. Expect Chav Jr to have another 5 or so fights against more bums before he takes on SM again – and SM will be 40 by then!

In our country, at this particular time, Chavez testing positive for pot is not a bad thing financially. Now Jr. can say look, I was high, trained in my living room, by myself and still almost knocked out Sergio. Jr. will become a tragic figure, a victim of fame who deserves a chance to redeem himself. This will be a great story for HBO, 24/7 will show us Chavez in rehab, in counseling, money, money, money!!!

I have to side with mr te tumbo, he is the smartest commentator here. Even though he is bias, like everyone here is bias. Nevertheless he tells it like it is. Maravilla won, but in the process he also took a brutal beating. It clearly shows that age was also a factor. After surgery, the ballarina “maravilla” may not be recognized by his girlfriend, or boyfriend, and his “fighting style” may be over.

Posted September 21, 2012 2:33 am

it was obvious that Martinez is the better boxer but is also just to small for Chavez Jr. I mean that’s the wrong damn weight class!

The whole match was sort of a guy fighting a guy who is in the wrong weight class. Rematch? martinez needs surgery on his knees or Knee and also broke his hand that takes while to heal and go through conditioning.

smoking weed? It’s one thing to smoke weed it’s another to smook weed and be effected from it for a match!

All of you are really obsessed with Chavez Jr. hahaha. A guy that is not even a real full time boxer. Despite the later, Martinez could not put him on his knees like he said. When he went to trade almost got koed. Cmon let it go. Martinez won and is the p4p champ. Ah, i forgot it, all of you are more worried on the future of the boxing fan called chavez jr., you are more worried even than him. Like Bill Gates told to Steve Jobs “is not matter who is the best, Dont you understand that yet?” I think must to be around 1000 posts about chavez jr. And around 50 about Martinez.

simply based on the billions of dollars made annually from the sale and distribution of marijuana in the U.S. alone, we can safely assume that the number of marijuana users is not “miniscule”. i agree that the raw numbers or usage may not compare to cigarette smoking but many of those i know who smoke cigs are only doing it because they get tested for marijuana (among other substances) at work. people need to face it: whether it be legal or otherwise, substance abuse is an established element of U.S. culture and no amount of laws will stop Americans from getting their fix or changing the laws (Prohibition) to do so at their pleasure.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:40 pm

Comparing statistics between tobacco and marijuana is pointless… the number of regular cigarette smokers is huge, whilst the number of regular marijuana smokers is comparatively miniscule (even negligible when you take into account that most marijuana users aren’t smoking weed every day… most cigarette smokers are smoking many ciggies every day).

There haven’t really been any long term studies on things like the links between marijuana smoking and lung cancer, so to argue that it is safer (or more dangerous) is pointless.
If a man died of lung cancer and was a heavy marijuana smoker, the medical industry won’t turn around and say “he died due to marijuana use”… it doesn’t mean it’s not the case, it just means that true scientists won’t outwardly claim links that have not yet been ‘proven’ (i.e. though in true scientific method, nothing is really proven… there are no facts, just theories that have yet to be disproven).

Though overall, I agree that Chavez shouldn’t be attacked over this. Unless it can be used as a masking agent or something like that, then who cares? It’s his own idiocy if he wants to use something that’ll likely harm his training/performance. It doesn’t harm anyone else (other than passive smokers in the room :P)

cigarette smoking causes about 1 of every 5 deaths in the United States each year, including: 393,600 deaths annually; 49,400 deaths per year from secondhand smoke exposure; 269,655 deaths annually among men; 173,940 deaths annually among women. on average, adults who smoke cigarettes die 14 years earlier than nonsmokers. based on current cigarette smoking patterns, an estimated 25 million Americans who are alive today will die prematurely from smoking-related illnesses, including 5 million people younger than 18 years of age. not a single death has ever been attributed to marijuana use. you’re right. there is no comparison.

Posted September 20, 2012 7:55 pm

Bute had assistance from the referee. BIG difference. Martinez got up and CONTINUED slugging it out, he stood right in front of Chavez, feet planted throwing punches, never held and didn’t run…like a CHAMP! Chavez couldn’t close, too little too late. Martinez is the CHAMP!!! While Chavez remains suspended, Martinez will go on to defend the title the way Chavez was supposed to.

if Retardo Mayorga can puff on cancer-sticks during weigh-ins and press conferences, it’s absurd to condemn the 20-something Junior for indulging in a few puffs in private. utterly absurd but typically American double-standards that of course, favor business NOT justice or righteousness.

Posted September 20, 2012 7:35 pm

I don’t see why people are saying Junior has such balls. He let himself be a heavy bag for 12 rounds. He had enough wind to do what he did because he didn’t expend any energy punching. If he had gone after Martinez by punching at his chest, he would have had a way better score by round 12 but he would have been completely out of gas. I thought the fight sucked. The Showtime card was way better.

your ignorant self-righteous prejudice aside, my parents were conservative, catholic immigrants. my mom was a teetotaler and my jefito was a beer drinker with a sip of the harder stuff around the holidays. must be where i got it from. he also did not spare the rod and had a zero tolerance policy regarding drugs, whining, alcohol (for us), cussing (for us), tobacco (for us), fast food, slothfulness, English-language television, and Lying. accordingly, i embraced many of the above ASAP. fortunately, my parents also instilled (drilled?) mandatory values like empathy, loyalty, humility, compassion, responsibility, piety, and particularly the work-ethic as being the standard by which all Men are measured. in fact, i’ve been working and purchasing my own clothes and marijuana since i was 14, which made my Pops proud. after all, he started working at the age of 12 but i also caught more than one severe and at least one public beating when he caught me lying about using marijuana that he found in my dresser, in “HIS house”, where he frequently warned that “Nothing was private”. by today’s lightweight standards, we probably were “dysfunctional” but it ultimately resulted in a college education for me (earned and paid for by Me) and a brand-new American tradition for their grandchildren. most of whom are pretty square but college-educated professionals. yet another example of ESB’s Real Housewives rants being exposed as petty, spiteful, and inaccurate gas.

I really don’t see this guy doing much more in this sport. The main reason he does well is largely due to his size advantage. He has 2-3 more fights at 160 then he will be killing himself to make weight. Once he moves up, to arguable to toughest division in the sport 168, his advantave is diminished and against better oppisition. ”Mexicans are pretty tolerant about badassed behavior. So are Americans.” WTF?! Nothing badass about taking illegal drugs Tark. Drugs wreak havoc on people’s lives, and I’m not just talking about the people whose lives were messed up enough for them to start experimenting with hard drugs in the first place either. Drugs also wreak havoc on the addict’s family and friend’s lives too. I wonder how ”bad-ass” you’d think taking drugs was if one of your loved ones had stolen all your credit cards or robbed your local kebab shop to finance their next hit? Imagine if one of your children had become so monged out after tripping out on the needle bliss that they didn’t know what their name was and they used a toothbrush to brush their hair? Just mull that over for a little while and put yourself in the shoes of parent or loved one of a drug fiend.

Chumpvez Jr is taking the same PEDS pac and mosley took. Doctors know how much to administer and when to administer them in order to avoid a positive blood test. And by the way, marijuana is known to calm the nerves. Does a drug that reduces nervousness help an athlete perform better? HECK yea! Nervousness affects your level of confidence — and we all know how important confidence is in boxing. Especially when fighting a real champion boxer instead of tomato cans and c-level, unproven fighters. If marijuana provided no benefit, why the heck would it be on the list?????

You toil for many years in foreign countries, and then you’re forced to take the short end in your biggest fight … Even after they take out Chavez’s fine for marijuana smoking he’ll probably have a bigger paycheck.

Who gives a crap about the psychoactive constituents of marijuana except a geekish pothead??? It’s an illegal drug and on the banned list of drugs boxers can’t imbibe.. That’s why the fine and suspension.. I don’t think it’s going to have a major effect on Chavez’s career, or negatively impact his fan base.. Mexicans are pretty tolerant about badassed behavior. So are Americans. Chavez can fight for another 10 years and will probably make more money than his father–unless he totally screws up his life … and he might even eventually learn how to box.

‘Cannabis (/ˈkænəbɪs/; Cán-na-bis) is a genus of flowering plants that includes three putative varieties, Cannabis sativa,[1] Cannabis indica,[1] and Cannabis ruderalis. These three taxa are indigenous to Central Asia, and South Asia.[2] Cannabis has long been used for fibre (hemp), for seed and seed oils, for medicinal purposes, and as a recreational drug. Industrial hemp products are made from Cannabis plants selected to produce an abundance of fiber. To satisfy the UN Narcotics Convention, some Cannabis strains have been bred to produce minimal levels of THC, the principal psychoactive constituent responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. Marijuana consists of the dried flowers of Cannabis plants selectively bred to produce high levels of THC and other psychoactive cannabinoids. Various extracts including hashish and hash oil are also produced from the plant. It is used medically as an appetite suppressant.

It is approved as an appetite suppressant to help reduce weight in obese patients, especially when it is administered Intravenously into the male genitals via injection, when used short-term and combined with exercise, diet, and behavioral modification. It is typically prescribed for individuals who are at increased medical risk because of their weight and works by helping to release certain chemicals in the brain that control appetite.

I bet you’ve never even stood in the same room as a pot-head let alone toked on a big fat juicy bong crammed full of skunk weed till your eyes went into separate orbit. Weed is unquestionably a PED and anyone who disagrees is a idiot. In addition to being one of the fastest and most effective weight cutting agents out there, it also totally desensitizes the user to any kind of physical pain or psychological and mental anguish they might be feeling. A fighter who feels zero pain is essentially an unstoppable killing machine and it would be almost nigh on impossible to deter them from walking right through you as you wouldn’t be able to hurt them no matter how hard you punched. Why do you think Sergio broke both his hands the other night? Sergio had never suffered from problems with his hands until he fought Chavez. JC was walking through his best shots like he was the Terminator.

Smoking pot before a fight is hardly cheating. You are just being stupid and biased.

Posted September 20, 2012 1:06 pm

This young man seems to be a little mess. He’s been caught drinking before, now smoking pot, right before a title fight!!!! He put his title, his performance, his name and his life in danger (cannabis is NOT a performance enhancing drug, all the contrary, it provokes ataxia, time perception distortion and muscular relaxation). He deserves whatever punihsment he gets, for his own good. Being the son of such a troubled man as JC Sr. did not help him much it seems. I think he IS talented and he CAN be a great fighter and a top contender, but he is messing with the wrong people (his current girlfriend had ties to certain drug cartel).

They say that for those who regularly smoke weed, it can take a month or more to clear your system. But if you just did a bit for the first time or not very often, it might only take a couple of weeks to clear your system.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:56 pm

And please tell me how weed helps you win a fight. What are the physical advantages of smoking weed? Does smoking increase oxygen intake to help you last longer? You guys need to think before you post dumb statements. Yes, Chavez jr was an idiot, but smoking weed only cheats the smoker not his opponent. If anything Martinez should have had an advantage. Not only that, but the last time he smoked could have been as far as 28 days out from the fight. How can you know he was even under the influence of the drug during the fight? YOU DON”T. Yes, he broke the rules, but when you accuse a person of things they didn’t do, it makes it hard to make the things they really did stick and punish them for it. That’s why OJ got off. Chavez is apparently big enough fool without your help. He will fall on his own if you let him.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:53 pm

Weed is not a PED. Who cares…

Posted September 20, 2012 12:50 pm

Learn more about Boxing. SIZE doesn’t WIN Fights unless there’s a 20lbs+ size difference. SKILLS WINS. As Martinez just SHOWED you…..and SO did Ward.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:49 pm

Chavez Jr. is a young man having FUN. But if you’re going to do drugs YOU control the drug. You don’t let the drug control YOU. If you’re doing drugs when its BUSINESS time then either the drug is controlling YOU or you just don’t have enough GOOD sense to get your priorities straight….I smoke here and there TOO. But only on the weekends…..I REFUSE to do it during the work week. Because I’m mentally STRONG. Chavez Jr. is mentally WEAK.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:47 pm

So the weed was giving him some kind of advantage? I guess the effects of THC involve better reaction time? Does the increased awareness make pain more or less tolerable? Do the munchies help him lose weight? Well, I wouldn’t call it cheating unless these statements at true, which they aren’t. I would call what he did foolish, but not cheating. Was he trying to cheat for Martinez to win or something? lol!

Posted September 20, 2012 12:46 pm

Yeap, Karma took out MargaCheato ending his career in shame getting pummeled into retirement by smaller guys.. and Karma has now exposed Chavez Jr. for the cheating scam that he trully is.. Next we will see Canelo exposed, he too has not fought anyone of substance that is close to his true size… I’m sure that will be the next shoe to drop… You’ll see..

Posted September 20, 2012 12:39 pm

Pistol Pete

It`s karma for literally and figuratively, tipping the scales in his favor and using his cruiserweight size to beat the crap out of smaller middlewweights. Had he not got caught and exposed he would kept cheating and done it again. And again. And again.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:32 pm

Bottom line is that Chavez Jr. is just another south of the border head first plodder with Zero boxing Skills like Angulo, Andrade.. but because he has a famous hasbeen Daddy he gets the breaks… Raised on a steady diet of PEDS, STERIODS, HGH and all that other stuff they’ve put in his system from an early age… To say he’s a C level Boxer would be generous… He’s been caught cheating and he’s avoided testing…

Posted September 20, 2012 12:20 pm

dumbo – We predicted Chavez Jr. would get beaten.. that happened, we predicted he’d get hurt, that happened, we predicted he would cheat with his weight, he did, we predicted he’s a drug abuser, he is, we predicted he’d get humiliated by the smaller Martinez, that happened.. what exactly did we miss? The Martinez didn’t KO the Neanderthal?? we didn’t know the fker was also smokin pot to numb his big face and head from Martinez’s painful shots.. LOL

Posted September 20, 2012 12:16 pm

What the heck are you rambling about?? Am I a professional athlete? Am I the famous boxer who’s being portrayed as a pot head on the front page of ESPN?? NO!! That’s Chavez Jr. As I said from the begging, I have NO problem with Marijuana in general, I like to smoke it and I do it in the comfort of my own home…I think it’s flat out STUPID for professional athletes to smoke weed KNOWING they’re going to be tested.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:06 pm

His trainer is Roach. This is like the third boxer that Roach has trained who`s name has been associated with cheating. Hmmm. I digress.

Posted September 20, 2012 12:04 pm

My buddy Joe didn’t even graduate highschool, but he managed to get a job all while being a pot head. Can’t say the same for Jr. LOL

Posted September 20, 2012 11:56 am

Chavez is STILL an IDIOT!! Anyway you slice….only retards get busted with weed in their system when they KNOW they’re getting test. Duhhhhhh, I’m Chavez Jr.

Posted September 20, 2012 11:53 am

The Prince

I called it, among a few others. Even a blind man could see that Chavez Jr. was pumped full of PEDs before the fight. How could he be a skeleton during the weight-in, then a crusier-weight during fight night? That twelfth round rally was because of the PEDS, not his heart or determination. Chavez Jr. just ruined his boxing career. Too bad he didn’t have the guys in his corner like his father. They actually knew how to hide his dirt.

Posted September 20, 2012 11:52 am

I agree. But you must know, everyone is different, my buddy smoked a joint once and somehow passed a urine test 3 weeks later. It’s just unprofessional and straight up DUMB to get caught with weed in your system, any numb nuts can pass a weed test when they know it’s coming, He deserves EVERY and ALL punishments just for being a dumb a**

what’s funny is that nothing that the Shrill and Real Housewives of ESB were hysterically accusing Junior of was detected. no illegal handwrapping, no PEDs, no diuretics while not even suspecting the one thing that Junior did test positive for (LoL). is it any wonder why i consider 90% of ESB posters to be utter and absolute Imbeciles totally lacking any credibility? the other 10% fell in love with boxing before posting on ESB. the rest drop in here, cobble together the stray pieces, and based on this incomplete puzzle, proceed to post irrational rants that really have nothing to do with Boxing. “WTFoolio” is a prime example of the bitter, catty, and irrational crap i’m talking about, i.e., NOTHING he declared panned out (LoL). Titopa and Hidalgo are just followers using ESB to deal with their own issues of self-loathing (Titopa) and pouty dedication to St. Pacquiao* the Untested (Hidalgo). what a pathetic trio of ESB Mean Girls they make.

Posted September 20, 2012 11:48 am

…., “A trainer and a roll each called “Roach” have two entirely different meanings” ..How clever. The pot incident is an excuse to confiscate a significant amount of Jr’s 3 million dollar paycheck and suspend him for 6 months to a year. That’s all it means. I never touched marijuana but I had 100’s of opportunities in my teens and 20’s. I’ve known thousands of people who used it. You have to live in the real world. A certain number of boxers are going to test positive for marijuana, and if you’re at a party where it’s in the air you might test positive. I remember when Tim Witherspoon tested positive and he was dumbstruck. He took a couple of puffs 5 weeks before and still got nailed … But it’s not like a high grade PED was found in Chavez’s system so it’s not that bad. This could teach him he can’t be so carefree about life. He’s not trying to cheat, but he’s a spoiled rich kid with everything he wants. His father was a poor example with his drinking and carousing. This embarrassment and the huge fine could motivate Chavez to buckle down and learn his craft. There’s no better wake up call than, “Hey kid…you done wrong and we’re taking a million bucks out of your paycheck.” … There’s always the bitter and resentful kid who doubles down on his bad behavior – so he can take it two ways.

Posted September 20, 2012 11:37 am

I don’t think weed is that bad….my whole point is the level of STUPIDITY it takes to smoke knowing you’re gonna get tested. What pendejo messes up his own paycheck and risks his “job”? That’s just DUMB!

i’m gratified that only marijuana was found in Junior’s system. no PEDs, no illegal handwrapping have exposed “WTF” to be a very stupid, bitter, and catty girl. he never even suspected marijuana (lol). besides, it’s not like Junior was exposed to be hitting liks, snorting lines, or playing with needles like Gomez, Camacho, and Rosario . . .

that was Haugen who use the pre-fight phrase of “Tia-juana cabdrivers” to diminish Chavez Sr. after being KD in the first round of their bout and deliberatly held-up by Chavez for sustained punishment, he conceded “those must’ve been some pretty tough cabdrivers”. yet another example of how nothing you imbeciles post ever pans out.

Posted September 20, 2012 11:29 am

That’s the whole thing…weed is NOTHING! It’s natural and it’s great for medical use….but what pendejo would smoke weed knowing DAMN WELL he’s going to be tested for it? Really? Like the writer said, no vinegar or even cranberry juice to cleanse yourself? That’s just stupid.

One thing that struck me is that he took a lot of punishment in this fight but amazingly he seemed to have an incredible pain threshold.Let`s face it ! Chavez Jr. has no real talent unless you call taking diurectics, rolling a joint and bullying smaller boxers with his extra weight – talent, if he didn`t have his dad`s celebrity last name he would be working on a hot dog truck or as laborer who unloads the trucks of a traveling circus.

Author “He (Chavez Jr) deserves credit for his efforts” … Are you smoking something you shouldn’t be? that is a ridiculous comment, Jr was beaten for 11 straight rounds by an “old man” and then that “old man” switched off and got caught with a few shots and got up but Jr deserves credit for that? after the effort, punch rate and energy Martinez put in over the 11 rounds with a broken left hand you should be asking if Chavez Jr hit that hard Martinez would have got up?

Posted September 20, 2012 11:06 am

Surprise Junior has gone astray but really who didn`t see this coming. He`s a person that will use anything that he can get his hands on to cheat because he is under ENORMOUS pressure to live up to his famous father but dosen`t have the talent of his dad to accomplish that. No wonder Freddy had a difficult time trying to get him to train everytime Freddy called him to put in extra work in the gym, Junior said,” not now,Freddy, those cookies that are laced with marijuana are suppose to come out of the oven in 5 minutes,”.

Chavez Jr. is quite literally the worst fighter I’ve ever seen. He has no skill at all, zero athleticism, and his punching technique is utterly abysmal. All he brings to the equation is size and the durability that you’d expect from someone who has such a huge size advantage over his opposition. The guy is a literally a heavyweight by the time he’s rehydrated himself, and a big one at that. Stick him in with someone who’s nearly as big as him like Wlad or Vitali for example and he wouldn’t make it out of the first round. Even the second tier of heavyweights would beat him silly too.

A rematch is a reach. Sergio just got sloppy and JCC Jr. brought a lucky punch. That’s it.. Is he really deserving of a rematch. I guess some Mexican fight fans are as myopic as Phillipino Pac fans… Remember Pernell whitaker not Meldrick Taylor!! Lol!

That’s because he was dominated for 11 rounds. He got the worst ass kickin on his feet i’ve ever seen. A thorough education on the sweet science. A schooling. Weed has nothing to do with anything. A non-factor.

Posted September 20, 2012 10:06 am

People who write these articles are absolute idiots when saying 11 rds were dominated.

All that matters is Chavez knocked him down hard and next time it will be early period.

Really enjoyed your writing style, nicely articulated, be looking out for your articles going forward.
Weed absolutely effects my peripheral vision, not in a good way, pretty much kills it. No excuse for eating so many straight shots though.
In no way a performance enhancer, damn shame too.
Peace and biscuits.

I think, Roach will kick JCC in the balls, 3 times.

Posted September 20, 2012 9:41 am

Ken, you can’t be that ignorant. Did you read my posts below on WBC rules? It’s not a matter of whether pot is a performance enhancer. It’s a banned substance. Period. Retard.

4.39 Prohibited Substances and Procedures. No boxer shall take substances or undertake procedures that may unfairly affect the outcome of the contest or threaten the safety of either boxer. The WBC medical advisory board may from time to time promulgate categories and lists of prohibited drugs and procedures, which shall include but not be limited to the following:

Sorry, rule 4.30 should read:

“4.30 Antidoping Testing. The antidoping testing protocols of these rules are applicable for both WBC championship and elimination bouts.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:58 am

Just for te tumbo and any of you other Chavez “lovers” who are in denial:

Straight from the WBC rule book:

WC-3 Applicability of WBC Rules. Boxers or their authorized representatives
shall sign these rules; but in any case, no boxer, manager, promoter, etc.
can claim lack of knowledge of these and all other WBC Rules and
Regulations, as they are posted on the WBC’s Internet website and
available from the WBC’s offices upon request.

Antidoping Regulations

4.29 Doping in Boxers. Boxers contending in any contest sanctioned by the WBC shall not take, ingest, or have administered to him any substance, medicine, or drug that may enhance or reduce his performance in the ring.

4.30 Antidoping Testing. The antidoping testing protocols of these rules are applicable for both

4.35 All Drugs Must be Reported. Should a boxer be taking any form of medication or other drug or substance, he and his representatives must report that fact immediately, but not later than the rules meeting for the bout, to the WBC, the local commission, and the attending doctors.

So shut up te tumbo. Your boy Chavez lost that fight in every way possible. In fact, he lost it before he stepped into the ring by ingesting a banned substance, by not reporting it, and by violating WBC rules. Of course you have a comeback right? Even if it’s substancelss and wrong. Of course you do.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:56 am

ChavezJr reminds me of W Bush BOTH rode the coat tails of their daddys success and show a blatant lack of respect for all rules Jr did not even take the last 2 drug tests and to fail because of pot is just such a blatant sign of undisipline everyone knows the rules of boxing so I am not going to debate the pot Legality issue. HBO 24/7 is very good at showing a fighters personality in training camp and that spoiled I call the shots attitude jr has is such a turn off and the fact he fights at a weight that has the least talent when is very obvious he is a protected fighter because only a few pounds more of unreleased sweat and holding one bowl movment is the supermiddle weights where Jr will get demolished he is fighting jr middleweights with a 20-30 lb weight advantage by fight night once your body matures a little more he will not be able to do that.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:36 am

Let me clarify something for the writer and the couple of jokers here who seem to imply that weed gives you some kind of edge in a fight. First of all, weed would increase the amount of pain Chavez jr felt, not decrease it. THC is not a pain reliever, and I know from experience. It enhances your senses, it doesn’t dull them. It only dulls your reaction time. If anything it would have crippled Julio in the fight. While marijuana is a banned substance, it’s not a performance enhancer.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:17 am

Goddaddy Sulaiman will probably find some way to “erase” the positive pot results. Too bad Arum markets lies instead of truths.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:16 am

“If the son of the legend from Culiacan did in fact test positive for marijuana, then a bit more is explained in terms of some of his punches sailing wider than a Buffalo Bills missed field goal, as well as his impressive pain threshold.” LOL Marc! Colorful, entertaining article. Fact is, Chavez actions verify the difference between a wannabe and a true champion. The difference between a fool and a true professional. The difference between an honorable warrior and a cheater. Actually, even amongst your sarcastic rhetoric you gave Jr. too much credit. He did get lucky in the 12th because Martinez got careless, but because Martinez is so much better than Chavez, Chavez still finished the fight taking more punches than Martinez. I recommend we all chip in and buy Jr. a new Roach clip. After all, being loaded is going to be his only escape from his raging stupidity. Temporarily, at least.

Posted September 20, 2012 8:14 am

Now in Retrospect we can totally understand why Chavez Jr. would be so reluctant to take Drug tests, let himself be weighed post weighin.. Where there’s smokke there’s fire… and as in the MargaCheato case we find out the guy is dirty.. Smokin pot as some have pointed out here helps mask Chemicals in the system and will help him absorb shots.. it’s just another dirty trick.. Like putting on 20+lbs over night.. like using Dieuretics to Drastically drop water weight pre-weighin.. a Culture of Cheaters…

Posted September 20, 2012 7:46 am

Guaranteed Jr. fired up a big ‘J’ to help deal with that painful face after the fight.

Posted September 20, 2012 7:43 am

Chavez Cheato Jr. will end up just like his Dad.. Broke, Alcoholic and a drug addict… The Tomale doesn’t fall from the tree… I believe Chavez Sr. was a Glove Loader.. Just watch his fight vs Meldtrick Taylor and Macho Camacho Sr.. They were Mirror images of the Cotto vs MargaCheato 1 match Were Cotto was Boxing MargaCheatos Ears off but for unexplicable Reason, just like in the Chavez Sr. fights.. Cotto was sustaining severe Visible damage to his face.. Welts.. Richard Steele in the HBO Documentary that went over the Chavez Sr. and Meldrick Taylor fight said he heard these odd bone breaking sounds when Chavez would land these slow thudding shots on Meldrick Taylor.. Same sounds people at the Cotto vs MargaCheato fight said they heard when MargaCheato landed similar slow thudding shots on Cotto…fights were mirror images and for decades people could never quite explain how Chavez Sr was able to do this damage.. Same Question people have had about how Margarito was able to do his damage. Until luckily Karma stepped in and we found out how MargaCheato was doing it.. Loading his Wraps with Cement… and we saw that without his Cement Wraps MargaCheatos power dissappeared… Hector Camacho said he was pissing Blood after his fight with Chavez Sr… Now to connect the dots all we have to understand is that MargaCheato early in his career was taken under the wing of the Chavez Sr. Camp??? and no doubt was taught the secret of the trade.. Cheating is seen as totally acceptable to these guys because the Money justifies it.. typical Criminal Mentality.. Chavez Jr. is just the latest and most famous of these Cheaters who has gotten busted but there have been others.. Salido, Vargas, MargaCheato etc etc etc… They have to make a severe example of Chavez Jr. and take away his $3Million Purse.. and ban him for life or atleast a year… This Cheating in Boxing can lead to the deaths of unsuspecting opponents.. all we have to do is look at the damage done to Camacho Sr. Meldrick Taylor, Cintron, Cotto to understand the damage this Cheating does…
