Ricardo Mayorga Joins NUVOtv’s Knockout Reality Show Cast

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – (January 15, 2014) Flamboyant three time world champion Ricardo “El Matador” Mayorga has officially joined the cast of NUVOtv’s Knockout boxing reality show. Mayorga will make his return to the ring after a three year absence. The 40-year-old tried his hand at mixed martial arts but is happy to be returning to the sport that he loves.

“I had a great time in MMA. It was something that I always wanted to do but boxing is my first love. I want to make one last run in boxing and I am now working with Ivaylo (Gotzev) and he will help get me to the championship fights. I will start by winning this television show,” said Mayorga. 5- Time Silver Glove and 4-Time Golden Glove champion, Artrimus Sartor has signed an exclusive management deal with Houston, Texas based Rafael Ochoa of O.Z. Productions. The Cincinnati born amateur currently training in Houston, Texas feels very excited about the agreement and his upcoming professional debut; “Me and Ralph go back a ways and I trust him to go out there and look out for my interest. The January 10 edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights presented by Corona Extra and ESPN Deportes’ Noche de Combates presented by Corona Extra will feature Junior Lightweight contender Yenifel “El Rayo” Vicente (25-1-2, 1 NC, 17 KOs) and Juan Antonio Rodriguez (24-4, 22 KOS) in the 8-round main event.

Friday’s show from Emerald Queen Hotel & Casino in Tacoma, Wash., will air live at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2, broadband Spanish-language ESPN Deportes+ and WatchESPN. ‘Cinderella Man’ Steve Robinson’s first promotion on March 8th

On March 8th 2014, at the Cardiff City House of Sport, Welsh boxing Legend Steve Robinson takes the first step into boxing promotion with a card of professional boxing.

Steve held WBO World and Inter-Continental, European and Welsh titles at Featherweight. Robinson won the vacant WBO featherweight title on very short notice in April 1993 in Washington, Tyne and Wear against the tough John Davison. Steve was the victor via a 12 round unanimous decision and it was the start of a fantastic run which saw the ‘Cinderella Man’ defend the title successfully seven times in three years. On February 1, in the prestigious La Salles des Etoiles at the sporting Monte Carlo, Dean ‘Irish Lightning’ Byrne comes up against unbeaten Russian, Roman ‘The Lion’ Belaev. The pair will battle it out for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental welterweight title.
