EZ E

Maidana won’t immediately rematch Broner. Forget about the “returning favors” nonsense, Maidana is in the ‘Sweepstakes’ for a possible Floyd fight. Until then, NO WAY! If the Broner rematch is ultimately the best offer/option available then yes, it probably will happen.

Anyone who attempts to embarrass someone by banging them up the shooter in the ring deserves to lose in front of as big an audience as possible.

“a new comer like Broner can sell 1.3. million ”

1.3 MILLION THAT SAW MAIDANA KICK BRONER A$$ …

kissmyblackirish

broner lost his concentration at the sight of el chino’s butt and went into his dry hump routine. what a tool.

PEEJ

I am not a Broner fan. As a matter of fact I picked Madaina to win the fight. I am just merely pointing out that the most anticipated fight of the year was watched by 490 thousand fans at home. Guess you could multiply that by 2 and yet they still pulled in more viewers than that. lol

WHAT!?!

No, asking for bigger fighters to fight at a catch weight to drain them is more pacquiao’s thing e.g., de la Hoya, hatton, cotto, margarito. Broner was not ready to fight a B+ fighter you had more than a few physical advantages over him. He was not brought through his progression as a fighter properly as it relates to his opponent selection. It’s better to learn how to adjust to disadvantages on separate occasions before attempting a leap such as the one he did. But really his team just miscalculated and underestimated the risks of fighting Maidana, similar to Arum and Floyd’s team with Castillo. The differences were Castillo was a way better fighter than Maidana and taking in account Floyd’s injury, castillo’s weight advantage and experience Floyd performed quite well.

Broner weight is the issue? He has lookt half the fighter since stepping up……plain and simple he got an ass whooping. Just because u try 2 b some1 doesnt mean u r them? Maidana will bash his hype ass again given the chance. Note 2 Broner….try jumping a devision at a time instead of thinking your unbeatable….he got what he deserved if u ask me.

Teflon

Weight wasnt the issue for Broner it was the experience, Name one credible fighter he beat? Go ahead I am waiting lol, Broner wasnt proven he fought Bar patrons and cab drivers. Thats his issue he was a hype job like Hatton

WHAT!?!

Te Tumbo says
“Broner’s not Mayweather and he can’t simply assume he’ll overcome weight and size disparities with nothing but potential.”

Agree totally, Broner didn’t ask for a catchweight like Floyd and he didn’t get the bigger fighter to boil down so he had nothing left in the tank, just like Floyd. Spot on Te Tumbo, at last someone is making sense.

It amazes me how a new comer like Broner can sell 1.3. million and Manny has been fighting for years and cant even get 550,000 ppv. But these pactards claim he is the best. If he is the best then why dont nobody wants to pay to see him fight? In the famous words of Jay-z men lie women lie numbers dont. Manny is a hype job and his glory days are long gone thanks to top rank….

100 thousand watched it live and after the news that it was a action good fight the rest of 1.2 million watched it on replay.

peej is a moron. one pac fight cost as much as a showtime subscription costs for an entire year. lets see what your little black hero does on ppv. good luck getting anyone to pay to watch the loser now.

Beach combing for cuttle fish bones for bones

You can still comb your hair after the Maidana fight, think yourself lucky.

Posted December 17, 2013 11:19 pm

Whoever

PEEJ, you are a Pac hater. I pitty you fool…

Not sure what 1.3 million means, it was free to subscribers of showtime and not ppv. There is no way that the 1.3 million would have paid extra $60 for that fight. Would have been more like 1.3 thousand…

Sheriff Joe’s chicken

Now that Broner has been humbled he can come back and fight at 140lbs and dominate. A fight with Danny Garcia would be an intresting fight heck even with Matthysee would be good to watch. Or if he chooses to stay at welter, Bradley, Provind, Marquez, THURMAN

te tumbo

“earning” a rematch v. Maidana would simply be a smart move for Broner. i was left with the impression that Broner’s move to 147lbs was simply premature. not to mention that Maidana is a strong and established welterweight. Broner needs more practice with handling bigger and taller fighters with equal or longer reaches and equal or superior punching power. the fact that Broner weighed-in less than 147lbs was the first red-flag. Broner’s not Mayweather and he can’t simply assume he’ll overcome weight and size disparities with nothing but potential. once again, Broner can bounce back IF he reflects, learns, and applies the lesson of his first loss v. a bigger fighter in future bouts v. additional welters. although, right now, welter is the worst division for Broner to build his confidence in.

Tachyon

Sheriff Joe’s chicken I have to agree with you on those points.

Posted December 17, 2013 9:23 pm

Sheriff Joe’s chicken

Cause he lost. That simple. No controversy. Why hasnt Floyd given rematches to his recent opponents? Because he’s beat them clearly without any questionable doubt. Well Maidana did the same thing with Broner. The rematch would only be as a favor for Broner. Maidana doesn’t have to give a rematch. As a champion (Broner) you need to bring your A game and stop fooling around. Broner didnt do any favors for Marcos Maidana as I recall. In fact, Broner is the one who said he wanted to fight him since no one seemed to want to face him (Maidana) and how he would show the world his greatness.

Posted December 17, 2013 9:21 pm

Tachyon

Why should Broner fight someone else first? He gave Maidana the shot return the favor it was a good fight lets see the rematch.

Posted December 17, 2013 7:25 pm

Sheriff Joe’s chicken

Yep. Broner needs to face some other welters to earn a rematch with Maidana. Broner vs THURMAN outta be a good one.

Posted December 17, 2013 7:07 pm

Pugfan

if Broner wants a rematch , Maidana should make him earn it by fighting a couple of tough guys first.

Posted December 17, 2013 6:58 pm

PEEJ

Too bad Pac don’t pull in those numbers
