After his emphatic unanimous decision victory over Gabriel Rosado on September, 17th, it was widely understood in the boxing industry that middleweight contender Willie Monroe, Jr. would get an opportunity to face Canelo Alvarez in a bout this winter or next spring.

Now it seems, Canelo’s team, led by trainer Eddie Reynoso, have seemed to do a 180 degree turn, and they don’t want their prized fighter anywhere near the former world title challenger.

After 6 hard fought rounds against Nathan Cleverly last night, it was all over on the stool for Braehmer who told his team he couldn’t continue. The “reason” was apparently a dislocated elbow, however there hadn’t been any signs of discomfort leading up to that, in fact several times during those 6 rounds, Cleverly looked like the man in trouble, not Braehmer.

The WBC was founded in 1963 by the President of Mexico, Don Adolfo Lopez Mateos, who was a boxer himself in his youth and who found passion and inspiration in our great sport. He was often seen sitting in the crowd at fights, even during his years as President.

Is Demetrius Andrade The Most Feared Pro Boxer In The (154 Lbs) Super Welterweight Division?

Twenty-eight year old professional boxer, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (Providence, Rhode Island/pro record: 23-0, 16 KOs), is a former WBO Light Middleweight Champion and a 2008 Olympian. He last fought on June 11, 2016, in a Showtime televised appearance against tough title contender, Willie Nelson. In that fight, Andrade dominated Nelson with varied punch combinations, dropped him four times, and won by technical knockout at 1:38 of Round 12.

In the past, Andrade’s boxing abilities created difficulties in finding elite opponents to fight him. After dominating Nelson, the question must be asked: Is Andrade now the most feared boxer in the super welterweight division?
