The win sets Linares up for a possible unification fight with WBC Lightweight World Champion Mikey Garcia, a matchup that would be considered one of the best that can be made in any weight class.

Jorge “El Niño de Oro” Linares (42-3, 27 KOs) skillfully defeated former champion Anthony “Million Dollar” Crolla (31-6, 15 KOs) to retain his WBA, WBC Diamond and Ring Magazine World Lightweight Championship titles in a 12-round rematch battle that went the distance live from Manchester Arena. Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN debuted with a bang Thursday night as rising middleweight contender Jason “El Animal” Quigley (13-0, 10 KOs) took home the NABF middleweight championship, earning a hard-fought 10-round unanimous decision over a game Glen “Jersey Boy” Tapia (23-4, 15 KOs) in the main event before a sold out crowd at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and televised live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

It was a close and competitive affair throughout, and Golovkin was ultimately awarded a unanimous decision victory, with judges’ scorecards of 115-112, 115-112, and 114-113.

Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) beat a very defensive-minded Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision tonight to retrain his titles in front of a large crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York. You can argue that the fight failed to live up to the expectations of the boxing fans, as there wasn’t much action to speak of.
Results: Mansour defeats Kauffman
In a 12-round heavyweight war that lived up to the hype, Amir Mansour (23-2-1, 16 KOs) was able to take a majority decision (114-114, 117-111, 115-113) over Travis Kauffman (31-2, 23 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce from Santander Arena in Reading, PA.
In round two, Kauffman buckled Mansour with a hard right on the inside. The two fighters started round four with bad intentions as they each landed hard shots on the inside. Kauffman switched back and forth between orthodox and southpaw stances in an attempt to befuddle the southpaw Mansour.
Results: Michael Conlan stops Tim Ibarra
Michael Conlan showed off his punching power and body punching tonight in defeating Tim Ibarra (4-5, 1 KOs) by a technical knockout in round 3 in front of a large crowd of 5,102 boxing fans at Madison Square Garden in New York. Conlan, 25, hurt Ibarra was a nice shot in round 3, and he then hit him with everything in the kitchen sink until referee Benjy Esteves Jr. called a halt to the fight.

Middleweight contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko (10-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten Tuesday night as he delivered a blistering fifth-round stoppage of previously undefeated Kemahl Russell (10-1, 8 KOs) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 & BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from the Fitz Tunica Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi.
Lemieux Scored a Devastating Third Round KO over Stevens
David Lemieux delivered an early candidate for knockout-of-the-year when he landed a perfectly timed powerful short left hook on Curtis “Cerebral Assassin” Stevens’ jaw that brutally knocked him out unconscious onto the canvas, which prompted referee Charlie Fitch to immediately stop the fight at 1:59 in the third round. Stevens remained motionless while flat on his back for several scary minutes until he was taken out of the arena while strapped to a stretcher, but by that time, he was conscious.
Demetrius Andrade shows championship work rate in title winning effort against Jack Culcay
Newly crowned WBA Junior Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade threw a staggering 953 punches according to Compubox, in his title win over Jack Culcay this past Saturday in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Andrade, who many regard as the most talented fighter in the 154 pound division, showed his versatility as divvied up his punch output nicely between jabs and power punches by throwing 519 power punches and 434 jabs.
The junior middleweight average is 684 punches per 12 rounds.
