Charles Huerta (19-5, 12 KOs) obtained the knock out victory in LA FIGHT CLUB’s sold out event going head to head with South Central’s Ivan “Striker” Delgado (11-1-1, 4 KOs) in the main event at the Belasco Theater that was televised live nationally on Estrella TV’s Boxeo Estelar. The action was hot, both fighters feeling the urgency to get the win. Delgado went down at the beginning of the third round after being on the receiving end of a powerful shot to the body, and attempted to carry on. Huerta came forward even stronger, and the referee ultimately stopped the match giving him the victory at the 3:36 mark of the third round.

Although Corral was able to finish the fight, Lopez controlled the action throughout, dropping Corral to the canvas in the 10th round to cement the victory.
Vasyl Lomachenko looks unbeatable in stopping a brave Jason Sosa
Reigning WBO super-featherweight king Vasyl Lomachenko looked utterly unstoppable in halting a brave but outclassed Jason Sosa last night. Forcing Sosa’s corner to retire their warrior after nine wholly one-sided session, “Hi-Tech” looked for all the world like an unbeaten fighter.
As we know, however, Lomachenko, 8-1(6) is not unbeaten; as hard as it may be to believe when you see such utter dominance over good fighters who are made to retire on their stool against him – Sosa being retired this time, Nicholas Walters quitting last time. One man has beaten Lomachenko as a pro, in tough Mexican warhorse Orlando Salido, but that came in the dazzling Ukraine boxer’s second pro outing.
Results: Lomachenko beats Sosa; Usyk and Gvozdyk win
In a one-sided mismatch, Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs) battered and beat down Jason Sosa (20-2-4, 15 KOs) in scoring a 9th round TKO to retain his WBO super featherweight title tonight at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The fight was stopped at the urging of Sosa’s corner at the end of the 9th.
Lomachenko had beaten Sosa badly to the point where the contest needed to be stopped. Thankfully, Sosa’s corner had the wisdom to stop the fight because it really needed to be stopped a round earlier in the 8th when he was badly hurt. Sosa’s face was swollen from the punishment that he’d absorbed in this hopeless mismatch.
Flanagan beats Petrov; Smith defeats Williams – Results – Manchester Arena
In an example of very generous scoring, World Boxing Organization lightweight title holder Terry Flanagan (33-0, 13 KOs) held onto his title in defeating the much tougher than expected Petr Petrov (38-5-2, 19 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
“Dangerous” Daniel Dubois crushes over-matched foe Marcus Kelly in pro debut
Tonight in Manchester, 19 year old heavyweight sensation Daniel Dubois of London made his pro debut; winning a quite pathetic mismatch inside a minute of the very first round. Going up against an extremely fleshy Marcus Kelly, 1-0, the amateur standout had nothing to beat and put his debut win in the bank at the .35 second mark of the opener.
Kelly, so much the shorter man against the 6’7” Dubois, came out swinging, giving it a go of sorts, but the magnificently conditioned Dubois, known as “Dangerous,” cracked his advancing target with a tasty left hook to the chin, his follow-up shots soon sending Kelly down. Kelly beat the count, even laughing as he did so, but he was deemed to be in no shape to continue by the referee.
Results: Cherry defeats Douglas
Former title challenger Edner Cherry (36-7-2, 19 KOs) won a competitive decision over Omar Douglas (17-2, 12 KOS) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes Tuesday night from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
Cherry came out aggressive from the opening bell, landing a strong left hook and backing up Douglas early and often over the first few rounds. Douglas attempted to control the fight with his jab and movement and had some success moving his head to avoid many of the power punches from Cherry.
Wild Man Ricardo Mayorga gets first win in two years, ready for more mayhem – Margarito clash next?
Nicaraguan bad boy/wild man Ricardo Mayorga fought a comeback fight over the weekend, in his homeland, against a 12-17-1 Jaudiel Zepeda. The former welterweight king, fighting at the light-heavyweight limit, stopped his Mexican opponent (who is listed by BoxRec as a cruiserweight) in the third round, as Zepeda turned his back upon being hurt, the ref calling a halt to the proceedings.
43 year-old Mayorga improved to 32-9-1(26) in fighting for the first time since losing his rematch to Sugar Shane Mosley in August of 2015. Of course we all know the fantastically entertaining, beer guzzling, cigarette puffing former champ will never again get himself into title contention, much less actually challenge for another major belt, but he seems set on causing at least a little more mayhem before he finally calls it a career and retires.
Carita Stops Domingos, Remillard Defeats Mauras
Vinnie “American Nightmare” Carita punished Gilberto Matheus “El Magico” Domingos as he landed one powerful punch after another on a defenseless Domingos throughout the first round of this cruiserweight bout. Then, just before the round end, Carita landed a devastating right hook to the body that dropped Domingos, who beat the ten-count. Domingos was in an immense amount of pain as he struggled to his corner, which caused his team to stop the fight.
