Olympic Bronze Medalist Andre Dirrell (25-2, 16 KOs) defeated Australia’s Blake Caparello (22-2-1, 6 KOs) by unanimous decision (98-91 X 3) in a 10-round super middleweight attraction in the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Spike main event from the Taj Mahal Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In a bout that started off with a lot of back and forth action, Caparello struck first with a left in the second round that sent Dirrell to the canvas.

In an impressive punching display, former WBC 168lb champion Anthony Dirrell (29-1-1, 23 KOs) smashed the game but limited 32-year-old Caleb Truax (26-3-2, 16 KOs) in stopping him in the 1st round after putting him down twice in the 1st round on Friday night at the Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Dirrell stunned Truax with a right hand and then put him on the canvas with another right. Truax was able to continue fighting, but he was knocked down with the first clean landing shot that Dirrell threw. The fight was stopped immediately after the second knockdown. The fight was stopped at 1:49 of the round.

The knockout was GGG’s 22nd in a row in addition to his 16th straight world title defense. His 91.4% knockout ratio is the highest in middleweight division history.

Erik Skoglund continued his unbeaten streak with a heroic performance against Ryno Liebenberg to claim the IBO International Light Heavyweight title last night at the Hovet in Stockholm.

Liebenberg had said he would drag Skoglund into a ‘dog fight’ and that is exactly what happened after Skoglund received a nasty gash above his right eye following a clash of heads in the sixth-round.

IBF/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) did what everyone expected him to do in destroying an over-matched Dominic Wade (18-2, 12 KOs) in two rounds after putting him down three times on Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California. The referee Jack Reiss stopped the fight after Wade was slow in getting up after the second knockdown in the 2nd round.

On Wednesday night, DiBella Entertainment staged its popular Broadway Boxing series up north in the suburbs of Westchester County with an exciting card, in front of a passionate and lively crowd at the beautiful Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, NY.

In the evening’s main event, junior lightweight prospect Bryant “Peewee” Cruz returned for the first time since his ShoBox appearance in December, engaging Mexican Moises Delgadillo in a thrilling eight-round war of attrition. Cruz’ conditioning was key as he overcame a few moments of adversity against a very determined foe, who kept the pressure on throughout. Cruz, 132.8, of Portchester, NY, patiently looked for openings in the first, while countering Delgadillo’s offense with combinations. However, Delgadillo, 132.4, of Jalisco, kept a consistent attack to the body to force Cruz into the trenches.

Ivan Redkach (19-1-1, 15 KOs) and Luis Cruz (22-4-1, 16 KOs) fought to a split draw and both scored knockdowns Tuesday night in an exciting main event on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.

In early action, Cruz began to establish his straight right hand when he knocked Redkach off balance and sent him to the canvas in round two. The Puerto Rican veteran controlled much of the early rounds with that right hand, great movement and overall boxing ability.

Chris Algieri (21-3-0, KO8) couldn’t muster up much of a test for Errol “The Truth” Spence, Jr. (20-0-0, 17KO) at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York. He promised fans he would be Errol’s toughest test, but he barely provided a “True or False” quiz. He tried to counter the odds makers low opinion of his chances by explaining he did his homework. He assured fans that he studied film of the young Texan, and saw areas he might exploit. Sure Spence was the power puncher, but he planned to tag Errol early in the fight and make him respect his own power. Errol was going to know that he wasn’t going to be able to walk through him.
