Ryota Murata stops Hassan N’Dam in seven, wins WBA middleweight belt
Earlier today in Tokyo, Japan local hero Ryota Murata stopped Hassan N’Dam to take the WBA middleweight title and also avenge an earlier, controversial loss to the man from France. Murata, in total control of the fight, forced N’Dam to remain on his stool after seven completed rounds.
Now 13-1(10) the 31 year old from Tokyo has arrived as a major player in the 160 pound weight class. 33 year old N’Dam, who was never in the fight, falls to 36-3(21).
Josh Warrington stops Dennis Ceylan to earn shot at Lee Selby’s IBF featherweight title
Last night in his home town of Leeds, unbeaten featherweight contender Josh Warrington improved to 26-0 and scored a rare KO (his sixth in total) in halting Denmark’s Dennis Ceylan in the tenth-round. With the win over the previously unbeaten Dane who is now 18-1-2(8) Warrington earned himself a shot at Lee Selby’s IBF crown.

In round one, Andrade rocked Fox with a blistering straight left hand. Fox was wobbled badly, and Andrade jumped on Fox. After landing several hard follow up shots, Fox was able to hold on and get out of the first frame. Andrade was dominant as he continued to land swift combinations at will. That opening flurry caused Fox to engage very sporadically during the fight

Puerto Rico earned yet another world champion this year as Alberto “Explosivo” Machado (19-0, 16 KOs) knocked out Jezreel “El Invisible” Corrales (22-2, 8 KOs) in the eighth round of a scheduled 12-round fight to become the WBA World Super Featherweight Champion at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y. In what was a hard-fought battle between two southpaws, Corrales earned an early advantage by being much quicker and skillful. The native of San Miguelito, Panama also landed hard overhand lefts repeatedly, eventually dropping Machado with that same punch in the fifth round. Little by little, though, Machado’s size and strength advantages began taking a toll on Corrales, who was hurt by a right hook in round six.
Demetrius Andrade conquers Alantez Fox
Last night at Turning Stone Resort and Casino, in Verona New York, undefeated two time Jr. Middleweight World Champion, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (Providence, RI, 25-0 16KO’s), made a successful debut in the Middleweight division by dominating previously unbeaten Alantez “Slyaza” Fox (Forestville, MD, 23-1-1 11KO’s) over 12 rounds of action. All three judges had Andrade ahead by scores of 118-110, 118-109, and 116-111.

In a big unification match, IBF World bantamweight champion Ryan Burnett (18-0, 9 KOs) came out ahead of Zhanat Zhakiyanov (27-2, 18 KOs) in beating him by a 12 round unanimous decision in scores that seemed far too wide for the fight that transpired inside the ring at The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The Real Deal Boxing, the promotional entity of Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Sports and Entertainment, presented an outstanding 10-bout card Thursday night, October 19 from Atlanta, Georgia telecast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
The event was part of a full fight week of activities celebrating Holyfield’s induction to the International Boxing Hall of Fame this past June along with his 55th birthday on Thursday.

Tonight in London on David Haye’s Hayemaker Promotions card at The O2, 2016 Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce made his pro debut a successful one, the red-hot heavyweight prospect taking on and halting experienced 16-fight pro Ian Lewison in a scheduled ten rounder. The end came at the 2.35 mark of round-eight, as a battered Lewison was pulled out by his corner when under fire.
