WATCH: Fury & Charr get into altercation in Cologne

Manuel Charr wants a big fight. Perhaps any big fight. Today, in Cologne, Germany, at the fitness expo FIBO, “Diamond Boy” Charr had his game face firmly on as he sought out Tyson Fury. Fury was all smiles, offering his hand to the more serious looking Charr, but soon enough the duo had to be separated.

Charr, who has seen big fights fall through in the past (he was, like Fury, supposed to land a lucrative fight with David Haye a few years back) referred to Fury as a “mad man,” in a clear attempt to rile the out of shape, today easy going former world champ. There was a shove, security dived in, and the two fighters went their separate ways.

A Tyson Fury comeback in May? Fat Chance

A Tyson Fury comeback in May? Fat Chance

Recently, via his own, oft-used social media account, unbeaten former unified heavyweight champ Tyson Fury announced how he was back in training, aiming for a return to the ring this May. It is clear that this will not happen.

We’ve all seen the various photos depicting a clearly out of shape and much overweight Fury, and yesterday in Manchester, in speaking with Box Nation pundit Steve Lillis, Fury – appearing to have lost none of the excess weight he has piled on since his sensational November 2015 upset decision win over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany – said that he is “not back in the gym.”

Win or lose against Joshua, Klitschko will not fight a rematch with Fury, says Boente

It seems we will be left to forever ponder what would have happened had heavyweight rivals Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko fought a rematch; as they were twice scheduled to do, only for the return meeting to fall through on both occasions.

Bernd Boente, Klitschko’s long-time manager, spoke with Sky Sports, and he said that no way does Wladimir or himself “want to deal with this group of people again.” Boente is understandably unwilling to forgive Fury for wasting Klitschko’s time in not going ahead with the rematch (Fury pulling out of the second arranged date for the sequel).

Tyson Fury is back sparring as he attempts to get back in shape

One of the oldest, most often repeated sayings in the sport of boxing is, it’s tough becoming a world champion, but it’s even harder remaining as one. Everyone from Mike Tyson to Muhammad Ali has said these words and right now, one man who knows first hand how incredibly hard it can be to stay at the top of the mountain once you’ve got there , is training for a comeback.

Boozing and boxing don't mix; something Tyson Fury should be aware of

Everyone associated with the great sport of boxing – be it fighters, trainers, pundits or even fans – knows that for a fighter to be successful, the life of a fighter must be lived 100 percent. It sounds simple enough, but unfortunately the sport is littered with tales of talented boxers coming apart, sometimes agonisingly so, due to failing to maintain a dedicated regimen outside of the ring.

Tyson Fury admits he weighs 350 pounds, but says “getting the weight off has never been a problem!”

Tyson Fury admits he is weighing a whopping 25 stone, or 350 pounds right now, but the former, unbeaten, heavyweight champ insists he has beaten depression in “the hardest fight” of his life and is more than ready for a fresh start. It could be a long road back for the 28 year-old who has not boxed since sensationally upsetting defending champion Wladimir Klitschko in November of 2015, and he has yet to obtain a license to box in the UK.

Fury, who is absolutely adamant he is a clean fighter and has never taken steroids or any other performance-enhancing drugs, will face a full investigation from VADA in May. But before then, the hard training will start and Fury has all that weight to shift. But, as he said via twitter, Fury says losing the weight will be no real problem for him.

Tyson Fury aims for May 13 ring return – who should the unbeaten giant face?

Tyson Fury aims for May 13 ring return – who should the unbeaten giant face?

There is no venue, there is no opponent and there is no guarantee, but unbeaten former unified heavyweight king Tyson Fury yesterday tweeted how he will be returning to ring action on May 13, and that he is working with promoter Frank Warren on who his opponent might be.

Fury, the most controversial and highly publicised heavyweight boxer since Mike Tyson, has been through everything since beating Wladimir Klitschko in November of 2015 – including depression, a drugs habit, weight problems and a complete lack of desire to train – but he has announced his date of intention as far as his ring return.
