Paul Dogboe, father and trainer of undefeated Ghanaian boxer, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe has expressed his apologies to Carl Lokko, coach of world title challenger, Richard Oblitey Commey over comments he made regarding Commey’s two losses in 2016.

Speaking at the Kotoka International Airport on arrival in Ghana on December 29, Dogboe Snr lamented on why Commey who he rates as a boxer with all the qualities needed to become world champion failed in his bid for the IBF world title versus Robert Easter Jnr and against Denis Shafikov in Russia three months later and called for Commey to change his technical team if he wants to be champion.

Former Ghana president, Jerry Rawlings has urged undefeated boxer, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe (16-0, 10 KOs) to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Azumah Nelson by setting his own standards and targets in order to become a great champion.

Despite rising to number five in the latest WBO junior featherweight ratings and with a chance of taking a shot at the world champion, Jesse Magdaleno, Dogboe has instead chosen to fight once or twice more before stepping up to the big plate and it’s a decision that the former president rates highly.

The highly religious boxer on Thursday returned to the country for the first time since annexing the belt with a round 7 stoppage of Julian Evaristo Aristule in New Zealand on December 10 and drove straight from the Kotoka International Airport in Accra to Tadzewu in the Volta Region to join the Apostle Revelations Society (ARS)’s annual end of year national convention’s 77th anniversary.

Newly crowned WBO International junior featherweight champion, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe has revealed how Ghana’s newly elected president, Nana Akufo-Addo sent him a message to congratulate him moments after he beat Julian Evaristo Aristule in Auckland, New Zealand on December 10 to win the title.

Undefeated Dogboe (16-0, 10 KOs) who returns to Ghana since the victory next Thursday, December 29 also disclosed how Ghana’s former presidents, Jerry Rawlings and John Kufuor have consistently maintained support for him, sending him congratulatory messages each time after his victories in the ring and is excited that the new chief of the country has followed suit after the victory enacted barely hours following his official declaration as Ghana’s next president-elect.
