Trainer Freddie Roach is thinking that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be making a mistake if he fights Amir Khan next, because he sees that as a fight that will lose money for Showtime/CBS. Roach believes that Mayweather needs to maximize the money he makes with his last 4 fights on his Showtime/CBS contract, and the way to do that is to fight Manny Pacquiao.
“Showtime/CBS is in the business to make money,” Roach said to Radio Raheem. “They want fights like Pacquiao-Mayweather to be profitable. I think they need to make that fight happen. I think they will make Mayweather make that fight. We’ve accepted everything with the drug testing, so I don’t think there’s any more excuses for him not to fight us.”
After getting his dream fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year in May and promptly losing it badly, former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-2-1, 18 KO’s) reportedly wants out of his contract with Golden Boy Promotions. CEO of Golden Boy Richard Schaefer doesn’t understand why Guerrero would want to leave, as he got him the Mayweather fight, and also got him a fight against Andre Berto. Schaefer recently offered him a fight against unbeaten Keith Thurman last December, but Guerrero turned that fight down for some reason. 
Manny Pacquiao and his team still haven’t announced who his next opponent will be for his April 12th fight, but it’s assumed that WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley will be the one facing him, as long as he doesn’t price himself out of the fight by asking beyond what Top Rank is willing to give him to be the B-side. 
The negotiations between Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KO’s) and WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (31-0, 12 KO’s) are dragging out a lot longer than what many boxing experts expected it to for their proposed April 12th rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Steve Kim, Bradley is asking for an $8 million guarantee for the rematch with Pacquiao, which is above the $5 million that he received in their previous fight in June of 2012. 
If Manny Pacquiao chooses not to fight WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley in a rematch on April 12th, and instead face his former sparring partner Ruslan Provodnikov, then Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum is interested in putting together a rematch between Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. Presumably the Bradley-Marquez fight would then be the co-feature for Pacquiao’s bout against Provodnikov in April. 
WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 21 KO’s) is expected back in the ring on March 15th in a fight in Moscow, Russia, according to RingTV. Kovalev’s manager Egis Klimas says they want WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson for that date, but it’s not looking like he’s going to accept that fight. 
Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum hasn’t changed his mind about his desire to have Pacquiao fight either Tim Bradley or Ruslan Provodnikov in his next fight on April 12th. The only change that Arum has made is he’s stopped mentioning 40-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez as one of three candidates for the fight because of Marquez repeatedly saying that he doesn’t have any interest in ever facing Pacquiao again after having fought him 4 times. 
While many boxing fans have serious doubts about whether Adrien Broner’s career will ever recover from his loss to Marcos Maidana last December, Broner is still incredibly confident and he sees himself coming back to make $1-10 million+ for his fights in the future. Broner sees himself continuing on the course to become boxing’s next big money fighter after Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao both retire from the game. Broner’s confidence in himself is refreshing, and it would be great for the sport if he an succeed. 
Floyd Mayweather Sr. thinks Manny Pacquiao has lost his one respected power in the past 4 years since the time he and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were in negotiations for a fight in 2010. Back then, Pacquiao was knocking guys out left and right, and blown out the likes of Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. 
Trainer Abel Sanchez feels that WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia and WBA 147 lb. champion Marcos Maidana both deserve a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. more than Amir Khan does right now. However, Sanchez thinks that Khan will be the one that gets the fight against Floyd on May 3rd because he gives him the biggest money fight available compared to Maidana or Garcia.
