what are you babbling about?

Do you have a link to a report where Quillin called him out, coz this is the first I’ve heard this?
I heard Quillin say that he wasn’t scared of Golovkin despite the rumours (which seem a bit far fetched) about their gym encounter, but he seemed a bit stand-offish about the issue. So I’d be interested to see proof that this call out actually occurred.

If only some fighters were as good at ducking inside the ring as most are outside of it.
GGG has a good performance on HBO (emphasis on “a” because that’s what it was 1 performance) against a guy NO ONE had ever heard of before and, all of a sudden, the guy is the second coming of Marvin Hagler. And since he’s that good, they’re gonna match him with undersized light punchers until they can cash out and get a big fight (hey, it worked with Canelo and Chavez Jr.). In the meantime they’ll say he’s the most avoided man in boxing, never mind Kid Chocolate called him out, and that’s why they have to import fighters from another division, because apparently smaller fighters have bigger balls…

Woop Woop

Have you ever seen GGG fight? You sound like a moron hater type.

Judging by his name (i.e. Aussie slang), I’m just assuming the vitriol is based on blindly supporting his Aussie compatriot (i.e. Geale).
There was a lot of mis-directed bitterness in the media down here when Geale was stripped… all of it failed to mention that from the minute he signed to fight Sturm, Geale was well aware that if he won, he’d have to immediately take on Golovkin if he wanted to keep the WBA belt.
And I’ll be VERY disappointed if Geale doesn’t call out Golovkin and try to get the title back now that he’s had his Mundine payday… I’m sure Soliman (the IBF mandatory) would take “step-aside” money for the meantime, especially if it means a shot at the winner.

you sound retarded and I don’t think you understand boxing.

A Duck is a duck… Martinez not doing it because of money is still a duck, its just a duck with an excuse. Don’t get me wrong I think Maravilla will school GGG , but GGG was still ducked. If it were just about money he would not be taking on a non title holding Irishman, GGG is higher rated and more popular.. ergo more money and more prestige. What level does one need to be on? He is the WBA Title Holder.

Posted February 27, 2013 1:07 am

If Martinez is “on another level”, why is it okay for him to fight non-champions instead of Golovkin? I get the Chavez Jr fight coz at least money was involved (not that I could care less about the financials of already rich boxers), but Martin Murray? Darren Barker? Matthew Macklin? All good fighters in their own right, but they’re not champions and they’re not generating any massive paydays… why is it fine to fight these guys, yet not to fight Golovkin (or even Geale or Quillin for that matter)?

And people also seem to forget that Golovkin was signed and ready to fight Pirog and it was Pirog that pulled out. Just being signed for that fight shows that Golovkin isn’t scared to face dangerous opposition.

Y’all can call me a nuthugger and whatever else, but the evidence is stacked in Golovkin’s favour and any effort to deny that is purely asinine… you can’t back it up with any evidence that anyone has called Golovkin out or that Golovkin hasn’t been chasing a fight with the other champions. I can and have provided evidence to back my arguments.
And the interesting thing here is, the GGG-fans DO want to see Golovkin in a tough fight. Nobody is trying to “protect” him… everyone wants to see him in the toughest fights and see for ourselves if his style and amateur experience holds up at that level. Whereas most of those who dislike Golovkin will say “who has he fought?” and then turn around and make excuses for the other champions not fighting him! It’s ridiculous.

Woop Woop is Australian (based on the name) so I can understand being biased towards Geale (and not liking Golovkin coz Golovkin got his WBA title), but the fact was, Geale had the opportunity to defend against Golovkin and he CHOSE not to. What was stopping him from taking his mandatory with Golovkin AND THEN fighting Mundine (who interestingly is another guy who ducked Golovkin back in 2010 for a guaranteed shot at the interim-WBA title when Golovkin even offered to come to Australia to fight) for the pay day? The only thing that would’ve (maybe) stopped the Mundine payday would have been Golovkin taking out Geale, so the simple fact was that Team Geale didn’t want to take the risk.
And it’ll be interesting to see what Geale does next. Will he “re-unify” with Golovkin? Or will he instead take his mandatory against Soliman? I’m betting on the latter… funny how mandatory defense is suddenly important when it’s against a domestic, beatable opponent (and further to that, one that his last opponent already KO’ed in the past).

Keep fighting those little guys GGG. Keep padding that record. Keep bluffing HBO and nuthuggers that you are something special. Wake me up when you fight someone worthy, and stop running from the top guys. I am not fooled by your excuses that no-one wants to fight you. You are the rabbit running scared, running scared that your balloon will burst the first time it is hit by a real Middleweight champion or contender. Woooo Woooo all aboard the GGG hype train, free tickets for the naïve and gullible.

Titopa@ I’m talking about how he will be remembered. None of those guys you mentioned are big names, only Chavez jr. the fraud. Martinez is nothing like Marquez, Pacquiao, Mayweather, the Klitschkos…they will remain as stars in the boxing history and will be remembered by casual fans too. Golovkin’s time will come, he will unify the belts and as soon as he does it, no one cares who was Martinez.

Posted February 26, 2013 7:12 pm

C&J – You forgot Paul Willams, Serhiy Dzinziruk, Darren Barker, Mathew Mackin & Chavez Jr… Williams was the ONLY one who wasn’t undefeated. Who has GGG beaten?? Um…NO ONE!!!

GGG will carve this guy up like a Kobe Steak

Posted February 26, 2013 3:00 pm

Titopa@ yup, Martinez on another level, fighting the likes of Murray. Year or two and GGG will be the undisputed middleweight champ and the only thing Sergio will be remembered is beating the great Chavez jr.

Posted February 26, 2013 12:54 pm

and people are claiming Martinez is “ducking” this guy? hahah! c’mon. Martinez is on ANOTHER LEVEL, Golovkin isn’t ready, if he was ready he’d be fighting someone who can pose somewhat of a challenge, but Ishida?? c’mon. Weak-sauce. Enough with the “ducking” crap, until Golovkin proves his willingness to fight a TOP middleweight I won’t take him serious.

Posted February 26, 2013 12:38 pm

GGG and Chocolate Quillin would match up well, these are the fights I want to see why cant they just get it on, they don’t seem to get that we don’t care who loses we just want to see the best vs the best win lose or draw.

Posted February 26, 2013 12:27 pm

Seriously, are you just mentally slow? This has been argued before and I can’t understand how anyone that follows boxing can claim Golovkin is ducking anyone.
Another history lesson in case you missed it the first time:
* From 2010-2012, Golovkin was mandatory to Sturm. Sturm managed to scam an exemption EVERY time (including the Geale fight)
* Golovkin was then mandtory for Geale. Geale chose to relinquish his WBA title and fight Mundine rather than take on Golovkin.
* Golovkin has called out the champions after virtually every fight. The only real response was Team Martinez dismissing him and using the money excuse… other than that, all you hear are crickets.

So again, who is Golovkin ducking exactly?
Don’t get me wrong, everyone knows this fight here is a “stay busy” fight and not what anyone wants to see. But what would you have him do? Sit around twiddling his thumbs while every other middleweight contender and champ pretends he doesn’t exist?

Yep fighting another small guy. GGG hype train is full steam ahead. Stop ducking the other champs and put that belt, which was given to you, on the line. Fraud.

GGG should be trying to get fights with the other middleweight champs NOW! lets find out who the best is, a mini tourney like they did with the bantamweights a couple of years back with GGG, Martinez , Quillin , Geale, or perhaps others? would be good.
