I agree, I thought the first round was a draw and that Geale won every other round after that !! The end result was very generous.

Just wondering if anyone here actually thought that Mundine won any round of that fight? I thought the judges were very nice to him scoring as closely as they did.

no he should fight GGG or choco bon bon or sergio …cash flash

Away in a manger, the little lord jesus, never mind.

Hahaha, point taken!

Damn right I’d be here big-upping Geale, just like I was after the Sturm fight (for which I tipped Geale to “win the fight” but for a rigged decision to go against him). But would you be here if Golovkin were to demolish Geale (or if it became more and more clear that Geale was avoiding Golovkin)?

Trying to act like I’m a Geale-hater is silly. Fact is, I pay for his fights, therefore contribute to his salary, therefore am entitled to have an opinion and expectations. And what I would like is to see the best of Geale in every fight… I don’t want to see him a carry a guy that he’s capable of demolishing. And I want to see him fight the best guys out there.

And claiming Golovkin as “crude” and “hasn’t fought anyone” is laughable and stupid. Andre Ward, Roy Jones Jr… basically any real fighter that has commentated a Golovkin fight has had nothing but praise for him and acknowledge his skill level.
And the “hasn’t fought anyone” point has been proven idioitic time and time again. Here’s the list of “anyones” who have ducked him. Mundine in 2010 (even after GGG offered to come to Australia). Sturm from 2010-2012 (the WBA allowed him to get away with this… and for the record, Sturm-Geale was never supposed to happen as Golovkin was still supposed to be the mandatory but the WBA made ANOTHER exception). Geale in 2012 (i.e. hence the WBA stripping him). And not to mention Golovkin was signed to fight Pirog, but Pirog pulled out injured (not a duck as such).
And then you can throw in Martinez who’s management keeps throwing the “money excuse” around and yet going on to take fights that wouldn’t pay any more than a Golovkin fight (i.e. outside of the Chavez Jr fight).
Also funny you trying to act like Golovkin never fought a middleweight… he’s fought two junior middles in his career who were Ouma and Rosado, and one of those actually looked bigger than him in the ring. I dunno where you get the “welter” from… I’m guessing you’re referring to how Ouma had THREE welter fights in his entire career.

Early 2016 Wilder be ready for Kimbo Slice and the fight of his life, after the Audley Harrison trilogy of fights.

Posted January 30, 2013 7:34 pm

Wilder should be ready for Kimbo Slice after 10-12 more fights, don’t rush him.

Posted January 30, 2013 7:32 pm

Kimbo was put to the floor twice! I think Audley Harrison should step back in the ring and fight him. 2 jokers battling it out to crown the ultimate jester. My money would be on Fraudley

Posted January 30, 2013 7:19 pm

I didn’t see the fight but I read the update that Kimbo Slice beat an actual former Australian champion? I would never have believed it myself having seen the MMA match where Kimbo was KO’d by a jab from a MMA fighter. Real bad reflection of boxers. Dam, my sport’s athletes are going down hill.

Golovkin will move up in weight before he fights with Gaele. GGG wants to fight five times this year it will be interesting to see who decides to enter the ring with him at 160?

Posted January 30, 2013 6:55 pm

Kimbo Slice v Deontay Wilder, a step up to the next level for Wilder.

Posted January 30, 2013 6:53 pm

This Kimbo fight was too funny.

Mundine has been a punk his entire career. Funniest thing about Mundine is he was knocked completely senseless by the German , Sven Ottke, who couldn’t break an egg with a running start..

Posted January 30, 2013 5:01 pm

Seeing that KImbo was down under it would have probably been more interesting to watch him fight a kangaroo. He’s become that much of a sideshow. Never thought I’d say this but he’s kind of like a poor man’s Butterbean.

Seriously, dude, saying that Geale will destroy triple G and that the latter hasn’t fought anyone is just plain stupid. After all, triple G beat better opponents, including Bute, in a single amateur tournament than Geale has ever beaten pro or amateur. I agree that if Geale and triple G fight one of them is getting destroyed but it ain’t Golovkin. And I think Geale (or his team) agrees with that, too, which is why I don’t see them making the fight. Hope they surprise me and do otherwise…

UJelly and Koolz are going to eat their words soon enough. But then the question will be are they ducking the site from embarrassment or will they give Geale his props. Geale will destroy GGG for a 12 round beating. GGG is crude and hasn’t fought anyone. Geale is a true Middleweight so Golovkin might continue to beat on those Jnr Middles and Welters to keep bluffing the gullible.

Kimbo vs Tilyard was pure travesty. Both swinging away wild, both guys little to no skill, both exhausted in the first round. Kimbo got hit left and right, little to no cover. Two times both guys wrestled each other to the ground. Oh, and the KO was lame.
Kimbo never evolved beyond his backyard-brawler level. He should keep fighting bums and crackheads in parking lots.

Once again the spoilt brat shows his true colours and walks out of the ring without congratulating his opponent. Win, lose or draw you act like a man and shake hands with your opponent. But no Mundine is just a spoilt bratty little kid that goes and cries in the corner when things don’t go his way. His father should smack him across the mouth and tell him to wake up to himself. You can tell that no one in his entourage has the courage to speak the truth to him, but why would they when he’s paying all the bills.

Posted January 30, 2013 2:09 pm

left hook

Geale is just a b class fighter mundine is just another bum

Posted January 30, 2013 2:06 pm

@ UJelly? Hey, he got to punch Mundine for twelve rounds, so he probably enjoyed himself.

Posted January 30, 2013 12:19 pm

Geale will continue to Duck Golovkin. He doesn’t have a change going the distance with him and I have now watched his last three fights. Not on the same level at all.
Golovkin will go up in weight and fight those that might be able to prove a challenge *(Ward)* who else anyone? no one I know. maybe some no name from Russia.

Posted January 30, 2013 11:42 am

Ha! If Team Geale agreed with ANY of what you just said, they would’ve taken the immediate (mandatory) Golovkin fight and retained the WBA belt and pushed a Mundine fight to later in the year (i,e. it’s not like Mundine was going anywhere else). Interestingly, they didn’t seem too keen to keep that title now, did they?
Sounds to me like you’re trying to make it out like a Geale-Soliman fight (depending on the outcome of Soliman-Sturm) somehow has more validity than a Geale-Golovkin fight??? That’s absurd. Are you Gary Shaw by any chance??? :D

Posted January 30, 2013 11:19 am

Geale doesn’t want anything to do with GGG it seems..

Posted January 30, 2013 11:13 am

shane tilyard should step back and take a look at his record. It doesnt go any where, win then loose pattern.

Posted January 30, 2013 10:24 am

Geale would eat GG alive. Queen G cant handle speed and pressure. I believe Soliman would beat GGG too.

Posted January 30, 2013 10:05 am

Yeah I dunno if Golovkin would beat Geale… I’m pretty sure it would turn out that way but it’s hard to tell.
Geale just didn’t seem interested in dominating this fight or making a statement. It was clear after the first two minutes that Geale was now levels above Mundine, and yet he seemed content to just build leads in each round and then rest on his laurels. It definitely wasn’t the “best of Geale” that was displayed tonight and I’m kind’ve disappointed that it wasn’t. He shares a division where the other titlists include one superstar and two punchers who are steadily building fanbases…. how is he going to negotiate fights with these guys if he doesn’t entertain?
Either way, his post fight comments made me think they’re planning to sit on the title and wait for Martinez which is disappointing… there are two other champions out there and one of them has a title you were stripped of. Don’t waste time waiting for a fight with Martinez that may never eventuate… I’m 99% sure that neither Golovkin nor Quillin would turn down a fight (and they’d probably come to Australia to do it if need be… wouldn’t be the first time Golovkin offered that).

Mundine is a dead set arsehole, disrespected national anthem by not wanting to be in the ring when sung cause of political reasons yeh right, couldn’t shake geales hand or congratulate him after the fight, he insulted geale and wife in the lead up to fight, he’s a insult to he’s own people by his actions,I like to say as a white boy good night, good luck ,and piss off.

Posted January 30, 2013 9:43 am

GGG Fought only 2 weeks ago, so hopefuly Golovkin vs Geale will be made. Geale is a likeable guy, which makes it a shame to say, but Golovkin will slaughter him. Geales too much of a warrior to run, which will be his downfall against GGG

Posted January 30, 2013 9:26 am

Alright after watching Geale and Mundine I have to say neither of these guys would fight Golovkin they would get the absolute crap beat out of them.

Geale would be KO’d in five rounds.

He dominated Mudnine but is no where near the level of GGG. I can understand the ducking.

are they in the ring yet?

Congrats to Slice. This is his best win yet.
