Rigondeux doesn’t have a chin that can last while fighting

Donaire by stoppage or DOMINANT UD

Mannnnn.. I;m a HUGE Rigo fan. HUGE HUGE.. but even I know his chances are really slim here.. period….. Donaire by KO.. too big too fact.. too explosive for any at this weight.. Mares can get it too… any way he likes it… because he’s goign to get knocked out too… Salido or Garcia would be bigger tougher challenges for Donaire imho

Guillermo gonna get whupped.

Fight could go either way just wanna see the fight.

very smart move by Team Donaire to target Rigondeaux first instead of the rugged, tested, and proven Mares. i mean, once you get past the stale “Cuban mystique” thing, the result is a great amateur but inexperienced pro who figures to experience severe culture shock when he’s confronted by a lethal, experienced, and elite pro like Donaire. it’s not quite cherrypicking. after all, the “experts” inSist that Rigondeaux is the real thing, limited pro-career notwithstanding, and Donaire is only performing his duty by eliminating all contenders, real and imaginary, in his vicinity and good for Donaire but too bad for Rigondeaux. i think he will be KTFO in summary fashion by Donaire and it won’t necessarily be because he doesn’t have the skills but it will have everything to do with minimal if any experience dealing with the likes of Donaire.

Trikoy – Yup! Rigo’s gonna find out REAL QUICK that Donaire is too fast and too powerful for him. Once Donaire lands, Rigo will do one thing….fight to SURVIVE!

I’d rather see Donaire vs Mares. Two counter-punchers in there, and once Rigo gets hit, he’ll be running with his tail tucked!

He got 11 fights to his name and no way he will survive with Donaire

Fight Aficionado

If Arum is being truthful then I’ll give props to him and Donaire for taking the fight. Rigo’s the toughest fight out there for Donaire. Of course you know that “lying yesterday but today I’m telling the truth” quote from Arum so you never know.

just hope it really happens. These promo companies are like bickering children and we are the ones that have to pay for it in the end. Save us fifty cent save us! lol

Rob – Don’t worry. If the fight with Mares is made, Donaire is going to knock him out…guaranteed! Someone that wild and sloppy will NOT beat someone as sharp and powerful as Donaire. Mares to take huge shots on his way to the canvas.

SREDMOND – I agree! Golden Boy is just as much to blame as Top Rank is….these dudes need to stop blaming Donaire, or Mares. The fight isn’t getting made ’cause of their promoters. It’s simple! BOTH fighters have expressed their interest in the bout.

Hopefully this goes through. Donaire can FINALLY shut the mouths of those who claim he’s “ducking” Rigo. Pshhh! Donaire via KO

Posted December 19, 2012 3:21 pm

I don’t think Mares or Rigondeaux have enough in their locker to beat Donaire. In fact I would think both would be on the end of convincing KOs. Thankfully it doesn’t matter what I or anybody else thinks as it seems that both fights will be made next year and we shall see what happens.

Explain to us how Mares and Donaire are going to fight when their promotional companies REFUSE to do business with eachother? What was the last MAJOR fight put together by Top Rank and Golden Boy??? Donaire is not ducking Mares he is basically cleaning out the division and when he smokes Rigo then what? Why is the onus not on Mares? His promoter is just as complicit in the lack of big fights being made between these two companies… I know, I know asking REAL questions is frowned upon…

Nonito is taking the easiest road ever lol with all these bums he has fought this year, Rigo is overhyped an 32, Nonito don’t want no Abner Mares in his prime.

Hope Arum follows through on this one…great matchup!

Good for all concerned if this happens. Too many good matchups never happen because the fighters are protected. When good fighters showdown with other good fighters, the fans and Television audiences will turn up.
