klitschkos could make biggest payday in boxing fighting each other, not like they havent before!!!!!

Posted November 3, 2012 6:09 pm

Ray Leonard did not become GREAT by saying hey “I can beat Hearns and Hagler” he laced up and booked those wins!! Instead we have V Klits somewhat riding off his brothers coattails and leeching more credit due any boxer who lost a 6 round bout 10 years ago, while becoming the standard bearer for massive tissue damage in the process… I was at the Malignaggi/Cano fight at Barclays and guys were saying they had not seen cut as bad as Canos since Lewis opened Klits up…. If the guy wants credit then go make a fight WAY better than Charr who also went down due to cuts Lol

ALOT of Vitali Klitsckos status amongst his fans is built on assumptions as opposed to reality… ” he could beat this person or that one” so let’s just give him the credit due guys who ACTUALLY defeated those fighters… Oh yeah, “if the Lewis fight had gone the way we wanted it then he would have won that too” while we are at it lets throw in Byrd, Ali, Foreman and anyone else we can think of… Thankfully sports works off ACTUAL accomplishments and the truth is that statistically Klits looks good but does not have the names or straps to backup his most ardent fans claims…. It’s old news but guys base about 60% of who Klits off of winning 4 rounds from a guy who others had knocked out… Vitali ain’t all that, he lost to a Great fighter that’s his biggest claim to fame…

Yes I am calling Sam Peter a bum. He is a short slow fat plodding bum with limited defense. Yes he has massive punching power and yes he had an ok chin till Wlad smashed him silly. Peter does not have the style, skill or athletic ability to compete with tall skilled athletic boxers. He was a walking punchbag for Vitali and was never going to win. Solis was the same.

I`m not saying Vitali failed or did something wrong on his route up, but equally it`s not really possible to place him at number 1 until after lewis retired, unless you want to put him above Lewis at some point before that due to his showing in that bout, so he hasn`t actually been the no1 boxer in the world for anywhere near as long as Wlad. I can see why people might say he is potentially one of the greatest ever, and that at any point during his career you might have considered him to be capable of beating the guy who WAS no1 boxer in the world, but at almost all times during his actual career there has been someone else around with a better CV – partly at least because they had the opportunity to fight better opponents. There is the assumption that Vitali would simply beat everyone that Wlad beat, and personally I think that is being unfair to Wlad.
Vitali has really earned his right to retire now and stroll into the HOF, but if he is going to stick around there doesn`t seem to be much point doing it to take a name so much lesser than his best previous wins.

It actually makes me a little bit sick that so many heavyweights are passing up what might be their only chance to fight an ATG before he retires without absolutely screaming the house down for the fight – it`s a career defining fight for anyone, exactly the type of career defining fight that a young Vitali chased around for years.

AD says ”It`s actually interesting to consider for exactly how long Vitali would have been considered the no1 HW in the world, since he couldn`t take the role until Lewis retired,” well where did Vitali fail ? because of his injury against Byrd ? come on, Vitali never avoided enyone, he didnt take eny easy path up to the Lennox fight. or just waiting for the champions to grow old. Well apart from that i pretty much agree with the rest of your comment. :-)

Posted November 2, 2012 6:11 pm

It`s actually interesting to consider for exactly how long Vitali would have been considered the no1 HW in the world, since he couldn`t take the role until Lewis retired, and he didn`t definitively rip it off Lewis. It wasn`t that much longer later that he retired, and after that point, losses aside Wlad actually built up a much better CV to my mind. I don`t really care about Wlad’s losses so much as the dominance, style and quality of his wins since that last loss – to me Vitali never actually picked up that no1 slot back off Wlad when he came back. It`s a strange situation since prime vs prime I`d pick Vitali over Wlad to win, and I don`t see Wlad getting through 6 rounds of war like Lewis and Vitali had, but fundamentally Wlads best 2-3 victories eclipse Vitali’s, and that won`t change with Vitali fighting people like Charr. I totally understand why they won`t fight eachother, but from a spectacle point of view, and having one true world champion I wish they could have. 2 or 3 fights between the K-bros could have defined the era as a titanic tussle between two of the greatest HOF’ers with each bringing out the best in eachother.

Vitali still crys about lewis fight!

i repeat

“The doctor appointed by team klitschko stopped the lewis fight,”

Calling the Sam Peter Vitali fought a bum is far out, but i agree that Vitali resume after his comeback isnt as good as his brother, But there are no doubt that none of Wlads opponent would have been able to beat Vitali. Even at 41 the only topfighter calling out Vitali is golddigger Haye.Vitali have to share the opponents with Wlad, and i assume that he is happy to leave some of the better oppoenents to his brother, to help him improve his legacy. But its time for Vitali to take on a very good and dangerous opponent, otherwise he might as well retire.

Posted November 2, 2012 10:48 am

It’s Wlads time. Vitali is done. And soon Wlad will have to prove himself against Wach, who should be interesting based on size alone. Pulev and Price and very dangerous and there are many up and comers. Finally the division is looking interesting

“goat,” a silly fool that has to live 9 years in the past. yes, lewis was a great hw and vitali gave him all he could handle. nothing wrong with that. this is klitschko time, lewis had his time and is done. get over it.

Wlad over the past 5 or so years has faced much better opponents that VItali. Wlad for the last 5 years has been the real champ. Vitali who fought Lewis, Sanders, Kirt Johnson Danny Williams was a beast but when he came back from retirement he was not the same beast. Sam Peter – Bum, Gomez- way past his prime , too small, cant hurt Vitali, Sowsonski – untested unworthy bum who later got smashed but Dimitrenko, Kevin Johnson – all he had was a jab that that got him to the end of 12. Briggs – A total joke, should have never got a shot, embarrassing opponent. Arreola, was a fat walking punchbag. Solis- Too short to reach Vitali, an opponent so fat he hurt his own knee. Ademek, highly skilled but just too small to hurt vitali. Chisora, a man Haye smashed to pieces in 5 rounds. And Charr, a total joke. No sorry when you are the world champ you face the very best fighters out there and looking at these opponents I have to say there are much more dangerous fighters than these guys who are basically either too small or to fat to compete with Vitali. The world has seen 2 Vitalis, the pre retirement Vitali – A lethal killing maching. And a post retirement Vitali – A man fighting easy opponents for his style. At least Wlad is facing Wach, a man bigger than him. Vitali only faced one man his own size and that was a 12 rounds war. Shame we did not see more of that. I am not a vitali hater I am a VItali fan but I am a fan of the pre retirement killing maching. Time to give it up

Posted November 2, 2012 12:33 am

The doctor appointed by team klitschko stopped the fight, for vitali’s safety under wbc rules. that face was brutally cut. Vitali has won a few fights by doctor stoppage, so he knows how it is. Lewis is one of the greatest HW of all time, why do you think wladimir used lewis’s trainer. hahahahaha

Posted November 2, 2012 12:28 am

Also note that UNLIKE Wlad, Louis was the ONLY path to the HW Championship… Klits has NOT unfied all the belts and spent most of his tenure defending the lightly regarded WBO belt…. Joe Louis was TRULY king of the hill during his reign, whereas despite the fact he has been the BEST HW around for a few years now, Wlad shares his kingdom like kindly monarch (Vitali) instead of cruel dicator….

Posted November 1, 2012 9:37 pm

Wlad has got a LONG way to go before he has 25 STRAIGHT defenses, I know you guys love to morph the record to accomodate the interruptions Wlad has experienced due to his TKO losses but Louis stood as Champ for what 11 years?? and was successful against 25 challengers to his throne… Call us when Wladdy is closing in on Larry Holmes, Wlads a fine fighter and if he keeps fighting scrubs like Mormeck he might defend 100 times… But as of today, try and accept him for what he is, just like accepting Vitali having his fanstasy smushed by Lewis right hands…. Both HOF fighters but lets keep things in perspective kids…. :)

Telling these nutcases that the LOSS on Vitalis record to Lewis is not a mirage is the equivalent of telling those psychos in Salem that witches did not exist…Vitalis long list of weak foes has left them wanting for one more crack at Lewis for lacerating their boy back in the day…. Lennox could be 75 and they would consider a rematch just to give Klitscko something to discuss besides OLD Briggs and guys like Charr for Gods sake…

Posted November 1, 2012 7:24 pm

Who has been able to PROVE exactly how “most boxing fans are in the US” thats just a cop out because the Klitschkos cannot sell… Next you will say Pacquiao is popular because MOST boxing fans in the US are Filipino or simply love them!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Face it their nameless foes and NON-EPIC fights have relegated them to popularity in Germany…. Both are HOF worthy and HOF bound but they don’t have the type of story it takes to really shine in the annals of history… NO DEFINING FIGHTS

No one can MAKE another person feel or do anything unless they are God or the other person is WEAK…. I am NOT God so that must mean that “Reem” and “Hero Toe Zero” are just weak men who are easily broken down on an internet message board by a stranger who is not as keen on their favorite fighter?? Thats not a good look man grow a pair and defend your man or continue being my supplicants… :)

Posted November 1, 2012 4:48 pm

WOW I control all the pissed off dudes on ESB?? Thats a pretty lofty claim but if thats how you feel LOL….. Relax guys its boxing and we all get passionate, pointing out the obvious about Vitalis weak resume and the possibilty of him getting a shot at a NAME opponent before he retires is what it is…..Historically I am not huge on David Haye and I gave him grief after Wlad BUT he turned around and created a buzzworthy matchup by destroying an iron-chinned fighter who had Old Vitali backpedaling and getting a man hug from his little brother post fight, if Klits want his last memory to be fighting Charr in a dud fight then so be it, but it is what it is…. Man Up fellas, the crying is unbecoming :)

Vitali knock out Haye!

Posted November 1, 2012 7:35 am

sred. Spot on I agree

Posted November 1, 2012 7:33 am

If Vitali is not going to fight David Haye then he might as well retire… Finding another manufactured threat that will only be condoned in Germany and by the BeerPartys, Bears, Rubes and other braindead Klit cheerlearders on this board is not going to work… The only guy available with some name recogniton and a compelling narrative is David Haye…. Beyond that another “Charr type” will put a stamp on Klits career as a monument to facing non-descript foes during a DEAD era of HW boxing… His choice, but another scrub won’t do….

haye ducked Vitali for years and now when Vitali is old and slow ,british brave heart, wants to fight him so much .What a britclown. David you should wait another 4 years ,coz you know with every year your chances gets better and better ,not that you will ever have balls to fight the best fighters, but you can still be Hero in UK if you beat 55 year old Vitali.

Haye vs Vitali is a great fight, yeah…….BUT….so is Mitchell vs Vitali. Helenius vs Vitali. Fury vs Vitali. Boystov vs Vitali. There are literally a dozen great fights Vitali could make if he fought on. Haye is a big fish yes, but he’s swimming in an ocean not a pond. ROFL

Meh: this might come as a surprise for you, but it takes two to make a rematch happen.
And too claim that the Klitschko┬┤s has fought no one is false and plain stupid.

I loved Lewis and Tyson because these guys naturally executed their game, Klitschkos fight no ones, there record is embarrassing, lewis beat every opponent he ever faced, wladimir didnt have the spine to avenge his defeats.

Guess what, Vitaly’s UDAR party has already won, coming in third at 14% of the vote and taking some 40 out of 450 seats in the Parliament. Vitaly has lots to prove in politics and as this will consume most of his time, he is very likely to retire soon…

Both Klitschkcshgckhos should have been stripped of there titles by now for not fighting eachother. This crap with governing bodies not ranking other governing bodies champions is BULL!!!! The K’s should have been forced to fight eachother years ago. All this junk saying it would break there fathers heart. Well im sure it would break my dads heart if i got whooped too. Does that mean i wouldnt be forced to defend my title against the number 1 contender?

Brazilian Boxing Fan. To Mr. Joseph Herron

I believe Vitali should fight the winner of the Arreola-Stiverne fight next… then, if he wins, he should fight Haye. I think he would win.

Then he could retire… and I hope he wins his election.

thanks for pointing out who the champions are…………. we didnt know

Well Vitali Klitschko will be 42 years old next year and in recent fights his age have started to show, but he is still a WBC title champion and the 2nd best heavyweight in the world right after his younger nr.1# listed brother Wladimir Klitschko the Lineal, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion of the world. I want Wladimir vs. Povetkin. Vitali’s fights are good but not that interesting or exciting either.

Posted October 31, 2012 7:15 am

Agree, a fight with Povetkin would be a good seller. Though after seeing what cap’n Huck did to him, who fights at CW, I expect Vitali would smash him up. Thats if Povetkin grows some, and actually gets in the ring with him.

Posted October 31, 2012 5:00 am

Fight on. Still got another year and a half left in the tank. A haye fight will make you top bucks and a chance to beat the only other guy to have a title in a long time. Another fight would be Povetkin. What a way to then go out
