This is the Smw Rankings:
1. Kessler
2. Froch/Bute
3. Dirrell
4. Ward (maybe)

You see the top smw are warriors who have fought wars, like the legends in the sport –
Ward is a protected fighter, who might have potential, but we don’t know, he has never fought on equal terms.

I think Bute could outpoint Ward in Montreol, with normal judges.

varnish: Lets be honest -noone knows if Bute went to the ropes as part of a strategy, Frcoch surely was open enough on the inside, when it happened -or if Bute was forced to the ropes by Froch, whom I respect very much. I think that it is safe to say that if it was a strategy, a wrong strategy for Bute, we will see a totally different result in Bute vs Froch 2. Clearly, if Bute can’t take a few punches from Froch, punches Kessler had no problem with, Bute will have problems with anybody, even Grachev, a build up inexpereinced slowmotion robot, made for Bute to dance around, right:)

@MK – Bute didn’t go to the ropes as a strategy – he was unable to cope w Froch’s pressure, power and punch-resistance. Grachev is no Froch, but he’s tough, can take a punch and can hit. Not sure he can boil down to 168 though

Clearly the Bute camp, would not put Bute up against a fighter, they are not sure he can handle.
It was a really bad strategy, for Bute to go to the ropes, against Froch, in the hopes of a huge counter opportunity. Bute actually did well until he went to the ropes.
Lets not forget that Kessler hurt Froch to the body, and Bute is very good, when it comes to bodywork. Bute will be much better at home, Froch will be a shadow of his Nottingham personality, the crowd, the judge will make sure that Bute wins over Froch in their second fight. Bute vs Froch could very well be a Ward/Oakland fight, where Froch is interrupted everytime he tries anything dangerous. I agree that Bute is not the best smw in the world that would be Kessler:)

BUTE 6.45 AM 1O/18/2O12

Froch showed how Bute can be beaten. Throw your shot, wait for the counter, and then counter back.
Unless Bute has learned to keep busy out of the counter, Froch will do the same to him again and it’s possible Grachev will do it too.

Bute was overrated, been saying it ever since folks tried to claim he was the best in the division. Ward went ahead and took care of all that talk. But he will not win no rematch anywhere again Froch. It will end early again unless Bute runs all night

I think a rematch is entirely in Froch’s favour. Bute will be in survival mode from the start. He took an absolute caning in the 1st fight. Bute finally came up against someone he isn’t as strong as and that won’t change in 6-8months. Froch will bully him worse in the rematch.

We know how good Bute is – good but not the best in the world.

IT would be impressive if Grachev can continue his impressive serie.

Bute has trouble making 168. His future is at 175. Having said that, i wouldn’t be surprised if Bute wins the rematch with Froch, the whole fight dynamic changes when Froch knows he needs a KO or at least a few KD’s to win in Canada. IMO it’s harder to get the KO knowin you need it, as opposed to it coming naturally as it did in Nottingham. I hope i’m wrong.

Grachev has carefully been selected by the Bute camp. Grachev looks like a Froch Lite version, but man does he have flaws. Grachev is very slow, he moves badly and he is totally open for counter punching, which Bute is a master at, normally. I see a Bute win by Ko, and everybody screaming of the comeback kid, but Grachev is no Froch. Clearly Bute has a lot of talent and I actually believe Bute vs Froch 2 will be totally different, with Bute on homesoil and Froch, who is not the same, when fighting away from home (Kessler/Ward/) In fact I am going to risk it and say Bute wins over Froch next time, and there is always great money in a trilogy, right:)

touches his chin*

watched grachev against sillakh. He has limited and predictable boxing ability but he has a good chin and he can BANG!! He didnt half catch Sillakh and finished him off really well, albeit with a bit of luck, SIlakh was bossing him up until he got caught… It wont be easy for Bute especially if Grachev touches his, he’ll go into a shell like he did against Froch.
