Quillin v Golovkin!

Posted October 29, 2013 11:20 am

Thanks for the boxing lesson, Dad.

Posted October 28, 2013 7:27 pm

Quillin fought to his level, which is all you can ask of a boxer.
People ranting about how bad he looked, how shocked they are etc., need to examine their own judgement, or lack thereof!

Quillin always had just one thing, power.

Control his big explosive right left, or left right, anyway his big one two, and you’ve got him.
I’m amazed so called knowledgeable boxing people haven’t copped this before now….

Posted October 28, 2013 5:17 pm

flash knock down “Canelo is licking his chops he would kill Quillin.” Very true!

So what would GGG do to him???? GGG is much faster, hits much harder, and is a far far better boxer than Canelo.

Quillin proved one thing, he’s a joke! His stock went through the floor after that last fight. Quillin is nowhere near one of the best 160’s in the world. He’s lucky to hold a belt of any kind, I wouldn’t even rate him in the top 10. Every 160 fighter inside the top 20 in the world must be desperate to take on Quillin now, and you can add every top 20 fighter at 154 as well, they’d move up in weight tomorrow to take that joke on. Quillin’s bubble has well and truly burst, unbeaten or not, he’ll never be seen as a dangerous fighter now, he’s there for the taking, every 160 and 154 fighter out there must be desperate to take him on. GGG knocks out Quillin in the first round.

flash knock down

This was a really good fight Quillins days are numbered I never thought I would say this but Canelo is licking his chops he would kill Quillin.

Posted October 28, 2013 4:12 pm

Quillin can always get a job as a comedian when he retires, ” I’m the second best middleweight in the world after Martinez ” very funny.
Golovkin is another level ahead of this guy maybe two, early knockout.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

3G will walk Chocolate down like The Terminator and smash him to pieces. And he’ll do the same thing to Maravilla if either of these cowards ever grow the sack to man-up and fight the best MW in the world.

Duckweather will never agree to fight 3G at 154lbs either, so how can anyone call him the greatest of this era? The real GOAT would be begging 3G to come fight him at Jr. MW — just to prove that he’s the undisputed best.

philly shell

Between the score cards and the ref looking to stop it Rosado had no chance of winning. This crap from the judges happens every weekend now and needs to stop. Such BS. Feel bad for Rosado – he should have been allowed to continue.

Quillin won handily. Rosado was too busy looking cool. He’s marching down the guy and barely doing anything. Ref should have allowed the fight to continue so his face could be a bloody mess.

They let Cotto fight Clottey with a vagina on his face but they stop Rosado? Yeah, it was a bad cut, no denying that…but like he said, “it’s a championship fight”…give the guy a chance, his visions wasn’t impaired. Idk. It’s iffy.

JuanMono endures a final primetime beatdown from Mikey Garcia; Orlando Cruz gets the semen beat right out of him by Orlando “Boricua-Killer” Cruz; Rosado gets roughed-up and cut for a loss v. Quillin; RoMono Martinez will be the final addition to the scrap-heap of island midgets that’s been accumulating ever since Segura retired Calderon. PR has become a bit-player in Boxing. a source of set-ups for true boxing nations. fortunately, Argentina’s around to pick up the slack and figures to be around for a while withOut the constant whining about their numerical inferiority. they understand that it’s one-on-one in a boxing ring . . . unless you travel to Bayamon or Cagas, PR for the matchup, in which case it will be You v. an opponent and an entire panel of judges prepared to rob the actual winner of their win, e.g., Salido v. Lopez II.

thus far, the most prominent characteristic that Rosado has demonstrated is his ability to consistently LOSE fights. big (Golovkin, Quillin) and small (Ennis, Onyango). seven (7) times to be exact, resulting in a losing percentage of 33%, either due to being outgunned, outclassed, or simply being too fragile to endure the punishment of a grueling 12-round title-bout and the boy’s only been in 29 bouts(?!). of course, cue a desperate, crybaby, butt-hurt, sore-losing Enema to once again piss and moan about yet aNother one of his A-list putoriquenos “contenders” (B- or C-list beyond De La Rico Island) being publicly PUNKED before an international audience, i.e., what F’n “rivalry”? . . . (lol) . . . “Cannn-Tahh y no Llores”.

Quillin looked like a deer in the Headlights for most of that fight. Espeically after Rosado put him noodles legs near the end of Round 4. and I like both guys but it seemed as if Quillin underestimated Rosados strength and ability to take his shots. Quillin was on survival mode after the 4th round. Even in the Round where Rosado got cut at the end of that Round Rosado was winning the Round and started the 10th right were he left off taking it to Quillin.. Quillin had the same look the Bertos had when Collazo got Robbed vs Andre Berto. They couldn’t believe they got the Win???

Posted October 28, 2013 9:33 am

Two small points:
Something has to be done about corrupt judges in boxing.
Secondly..NEITHER boxer is all that great. All the criticism is focused on PQ. Quillin is poor but so is Rosado. both nowhere near top middles.

david d.

Rosado could’ve finished Quillin after stunning him, but instead started clowning around, show boating….he blew it!

Posted October 28, 2013 2:10 am

Two of the judges had Quillin winning every round! One judges had Rosado winning only one round! There needs to be a federal investigation into fight fixing. It’s time boxing fans get together and do something about criminal judges ASAP or boxing will be gone……………..Write Showtime and HBO, ESPN, etc.

Posted October 27, 2013 11:54 pm

I’d heard a lot about Quillin and was expecting the second best 160 in the world. He’s not even close. I don’t think Quillin could beat Martinez, Murray, Barker, or Sturm, and he should run a mile from Golovkin because he stands no chance at all against him. I don’t rate Quillin at all, he’s massively over hyped and a very weak world champion. Golovkin would tear him apart easily, I don’t think Quillin would last 3 rounds.

GR keep getting robbed.

Posted October 27, 2013 8:31 pm

G Rosado was: robbed by the officials, I scored the fight 86-85 for GR. A d he was despite the cut, a serious one, causing a lot of damage to Quillin. I love boxing but these inept/corrupt officials are hurting the sport the way Rosado was hurting the “champ”, and in the fight with J Love he was robbed too. Can an honest blue collar warrior make a living and give us decent fights?

Posted October 27, 2013 8:16 pm

Quillin is still very good, but he showed more cracks in his game. His chin is questionable. He has trouble when he’ backed up, and he can’t fight against the ropes. GGG is at another level, and he would press the action and catch Quillin clean eventually. I also think he need a new trainer that needs to teach him more. Quillin isn’t relaxed enough and rarely throws combination punches. His conditioning should be better, an he needs to be able to set a better pace. A lot of punches landed on him. I thought he was better than what he showed last night, but maybe he had a bad day in the ring. If not, he’ going to have problems.

Posted October 27, 2013 7:30 pm

Once any opponent can deal with Quillins big one-two, they have him. He doesn’t have anything else, just a big explosive one-two….he is not in my top 5 at 160.

Posted October 27, 2013 6:18 pm

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! In fact Quillin will avoid any word with the letter G in it. Specifically Golovkin. Another pretender exposed.

About as bad judging as you can possible. They should be banned for life.
Rosado was dominating at the stoppage. It was a bad stoppage. Next time Rosado will knock him out.

It was a close fight with Gabby coming on in to his own in the last part of the fight ……The stoppage was weak and so were the judges score cards ……………

Posted October 27, 2013 5:12 pm

Quillin looked like what he is, an overrated t.u.r.d waiting to be flushed the moment he meets GGG.

Posted October 27, 2013 5:10 pm

big al

Misleading headling and editing of the highlights. And of course, look at who the authors are. Rosado was outboxing Quillen’s ass. Plain and simple. Notice how Quillen was being pressured to say he’ll give a rematch and dodged it. Also, how he never said he beat Rosado, because he didn’t he was losing on everybody’s scorecards except the crooked judges.

That was a nasty cut, and it was in a bad place. Rosado was game, and was causing A lot of problems for Quilling. he deserves the rematch, but he won’t get one… The thing that struck me the most about the fight was how much bigger Rosada was than Quillin. Still Quillin was the heavier puncher, and that’s what eventually led to his winning the fight…

Posted October 27, 2013 3:32 pm

mayweather 86

I had rosado ahead 86-85. They likely won’t give him a rematch either and those scorecards were yet another embarrassment to boxing. Quillen better keep talking about washed up Martinez cause if he gets in with Golovkin he won’t survive 4 rounds.

Posted October 27, 2013 3:29 pm

Yeah that was a terrible cut. It didn’t look that bad at the beginning but when they called the doc in during the round, that cut was nasty. It was a good stoppage on account of the cut. Rosado did give a good account of himself but it has also been the same for his career. He can’t beat the next level of opponent. He can beat the gate keepers and B level opponents but above that he can’t win. Heck I was really impressed with how he looked against GGG but then when he fought Love, I thought he lost that fight.

Posted October 27, 2013 3:26 pm

I like both but I tell you one thing…..KID CHOC CHOC don’t want a rematch.
Good fight and good stoppage as that’s a dangerous cut for a boxer.

Posted October 27, 2013 3:22 pm

Rosado gave an excellent account of himself and due to that, I don’t think Quillin will want to give him a rematch. Because of what took place in against GGG, Quillin thought Rosado would be another stepping stone but was he wrong!! There have been worst injuries in fights that have continued to the end or ended with KO’s. Knowing this, I would hate to think the doctor was advised by Quillins corner to stop the fight. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities given the scoring.

Posted October 27, 2013 3:09 pm

I don’t think he would of been robbed. Now the scorecards where definitely not correct but I still had Quillen ahead by a point. And he looked to be taking that round also. But he stopped the guy on a legal blow. But yes the judges cards where terrible.

I mean “160” guys like GGG, Martinez, or Murray, not with some juice that is

Heck yeah there needs to be a rematch, especially now that we know that Quillin aint actually gonna beat the best at 154

Posted October 27, 2013 2:36 pm

Rosado was going to get robbed anyway. These corrupt/inept boxing officials are bad for boxing.

Whoa, I don;t know what fight you guys are talking about but I, for one, would love to see a rematch as I thought Rosado did great and had he not been cut he would have KO’d the king. Even the ring side commentators were pushing for a rematch and the thing I liked about Rosado was that he showed NO FEAR towards Quillin’s power that , in itself
is very telling. Quillin didn’t look strong or quick, actually there were times he looked scared…I’m really hoping for a rematch, Rosado will have NO have problems at all … BELEIVE ME … PEACE …

Posted October 27, 2013 1:28 pm

Gabriel looked huge in there. Rosado looked how Quillen looked against Guerrero

Quillen looked good.

Posted October 27, 2013 12:01 pm

I was surprised at how tentative Quillin was. I was also surprised to see that Rosado looked significantly bigger than Quillin. Ref should have let the fight continue though.

Warren Pint

GGG KO Quillen.

Posted October 27, 2013 11:59 am

Yeah, they way Quillen looked against Rosado and the way Rosado looked against GGG I get that same feeling. But also GGG has yet to be hit really solid. But if he can keep from getting hit solid then he should be good. Rosado did hit him a few times but didn’t really do much, but Rosado wasn’t really hurting Quillen neither. But I would take GGG by KO over Quillen.
