Kirkland’s not real smart.

Posted October 14, 2013 12:30 pm

Without Anne Wolf…Kirkland is NOTHING!! Kirkland NEEDS a trainer like Wolf to PUSH him and get him ready to fight, we all saw what Kenny Adams did for Kirkland…NOTHING!!

Fight Aficionado

Kirkland had huge buzz a few years ago. He’s proven less than elite but his fights are action packed. It’ll be a good co-feature to offset a likely technical boxing match between Rigo and Agbeko.

te tumbo

Kirkland now reminds me of a middleweight Seth Mitchell. his chin is as vulnerable as Hatton’s these days. only luck will prevent him from being Socked into oblivion once again. No amount of training or determination will result in a solid chin and Kirkland simply doesn’t have one.

It’s good to see Kirkland getting back in the mix. The 154 lbs division was very hot and exciting just a couple of years ago, but after losing the presence of Kirkland and Paul Williams, the division has since cooled down a bit. They both were action fighters who had their sights set on the top and were both willing to fight anyone to get there. Unfortunately we will never be seeing Williams in action again, but Kirkland will be welcomed by most of us to get back in the ring. Its really great timing since Canelo has just received his big payday for getting schooled by Floyd, maybe he will actually take some risks and fight some challenging fights that fans really want to see and the Kirkland fight is one that I would definitely enjoy.

I personally know Glen. but this will be a tough fight for him unless James has some serious ring rust.

Poor James. He is going to end up back on his face or back in a cell soon…..I hope I am wrong.

Yeah that signing with 50 cent is crazy, 50 cent had the easiest ride in boxing to the top with Floyd and Screwed that up. It seems 50 doesn’t know as much as he thought about boxing all of his guys are still sitting. Good luck to Kirkland on his come back, a good power puncher to upset the apple cart.

The only useless prick on this site is you Anonymous, YOUR MRS TOLD ME WHEN YOU WHENT TO SIGN ON THE DOLE!!!

terror tim…Well they were trying to sell him as a Tyson like fighter…but lacked dedication, and always found trouble instead.Sometimes thats the problem of a big build-up,guys like this cant handle it.But your right Tyson got the big paychecks before he went off the rails…this kid didnt make it that far.

Posted October 12, 2013 2:36 pm

I sure would not miss a Kirkland fight. He always comes with heavy artilllery blating away at his opponents, the shocking loss to the Japanese fighter showed abit of vulnerable whiskers.Makes one wonder what the Heck! December is going to be a big month for boxing.

Kirkland what a joke !

“Kirkland was being bulit up as the Mike Tyson of the middleweight div. but lacked dedication, and trouble always followed, not good for a boxing career.” ~DWC. So he was basically the Mike Tyson of the division. Tyson just got some paydays in first.

So they are going to feed him a loss as soon as he comes back. Can tell he will only be used as an opponent from this point on which is what he basically is anyways. Fun to watch but not all that skilled. He better save every penny because he won’t be making all much more in his career.

Teflon Tre

If this comeback is true the Jr Middle weight and middle weight division is about to get even more interesting

Slater’s articles are often about misdirected HYPE where he often uses nick names to create drama

Signing with 50 cent? Another mistake.

Who wrote this? Kirkland’s mom?

Posted October 12, 2013 10:16 am

Yeah he definitely should not be getting an HBO date but this could be a fight to see what Tapia has. Kirkland is done. He will be nothing as a middleweight or in any other division. He would much rather break laws and go to jail than get those big paydays

Posted October 12, 2013 9:55 am

Kirkland was being bulit up as the Mike Tyson of the middleweight div. but lacked dedication, and trouble always followed, not good for a boxing career. After being inactive and not living up to what he was suppose to do he gets a HBO co-main event fight…well I guess its who you blow, not what you know. And sadly Americans like sluggers even with less skills, then a tech. fighter like Rigondeaux.Ofcourse its nice to see a fighter who can do both, but in the end I want to see a championship fighter in the ring slugger or not.
