Puto Reek-an boxing is dead. Want proof? Put Cotto in the ring with Canelo and he’ll get KTFO — Flat on his back.

Mr. Bush – Trout went down and got up and won that Round.. hardly anything spectacular from Canelo.. lucky shot at the opening seconds of the round, considering Trout was hurt and Canelo couldn’t put him away with the entire round left shows Canelo is nothing special.. Canelo did no better then Cotto vs Trout the only difference was that the Judges in Canelos fight were crooks…

PE -Canelo is practically a bigger, stroger, faster, younger, fresher and natural 154lbs version of Miguel Cotto fighting Trout tonight..I don’t see anyone getting stopped in this fight but if it happens most likely that’ll be Trout.

Posted April 20, 2013 8:35 pm

I’m going with Canelo. He reminds me of the old school type fighters. He’s not the type of guy your gonna take out with one punch. Canelo is young and should be able to go to war with Trout if need be.

Boxtradumas is picking Trout to win, as long as he uses his jab and footwork to keep Canelo at a distance. If he doesn’t do that then he says Canelo will win, Brilliant…

Posted April 20, 2013 4:52 pm

So let’s here some fight forcast’s and predictions from those “real” east side posters. I got canelo winning tonight. Where’s boxtradamous? Is he waiting til after the fight to say the winner listend to him on how to win nd won. Or claim he picked the winner. Boxtradamous called rios vs alvarado wrong, called donaire vs rigo wrong. He’s reluctant to makecalls now. He learned he’s the greatest vag. Not the greatest prophet. Huh boxy?

Meant to stay: Guerrero will upset him.

Posted April 20, 2013 4:15 pm

Canelo will win a UD or stop Trout before 12. He may be less experienced and not as good a boxer as Trout, but he can punch and has good all around skills. He will have big fan support, and Mexico will be on his shoulders. Trust me, he will get to Trout and hurt him. This will be a great fight, but Trouts lack of power to keep Canelo off of him will decide the fight. Canelo drops him on the way to a UD or stops him late. Canelo will learn a lot from this fight and get his share of bruises, but this will only lead to a possible super fight with Floyd Mayweather, unfortunately, Floyd will have 1 loss on his record if the fight ever happens. Guerrero will pull off the upset him.

Posted April 20, 2013 4:13 pm

Trout is pretty strong… He gives up punching power to Canelo but he’s a very strong man for 154 ,,. I doubt if he’ll get run over by this 22-year-old kid.

Trout…, “Canelo hasn’t developed his ‘man strength’ yet.”

Posted April 20, 2013 4:07 pm

Trout beat Cotto pretty convincingly in my eyes.. Miguel could not get the job done against Austin and a couple of times I thought Cotto might get stopped.. Trout can fight but Canelos strength will likely be the deciding factor..

Fighters reach their peaks at vastly different ages—sometimes because of injuries … sometimes because they get lazy and slack … sometimes because of genetics.

Mike Tyson peaked out at 21 vs Michael Spinks. “I trained like a monster until I was about 22. I guess I started slacking off.” … Alfonso Zamora probably peaked at 22 vs Pedroza … Carlos Zarate peaked at 25 vs Zamora … Ali peaked at 32 vs Foreman. Ali said, “My speed was still there in my early 30’s—but I had much better punching power.” … Larry Holmes probably peaked at 28 in his first Shavers fight—before the biceps injury made him hittable with right hands. “My jab wouldn’t retract with the same speed after the injury, so I had to revamp my defense for right counters. Guys were sitting on my jab.” … Vitali Klitschko peaked against Sam Peter at 37—after 4 years of off rehabbing old leg injuries from his kick boxing career. “My legs felt great for Peter. He never hit me with a single punch.” … Bernard Hopkins probably peaked at 36 vs Trinidad, “I won every round by a mile. I could see every punch as clear as day. This was my best fight so far.” … Nonito Donaire has been complaining of shoulder injuries and says he needs surgery. Who knows if he’s seen his best days? Ditto Andre Ward, who’s been complaining of recent injuries and problems.

I don’t think Canelo has peaked at 22. He’s a very intelligent kid with a conservative life style. He works on his weaknesses every training camp and has a fresh body that he’ll get a lot of mileage out of.

Supreme Court is right about Camelo fighting little fighters. Trout probably hits harder than anyone Camelo has fought, including the faded Mosely.

Posted April 20, 2013 2:21 pm

Supreme Court- I agree with your logic 100%, but for me Canelo has better skills, especially his offensive arsenal, more power and is physically stronger than Trout (althought I’m starting to have my doubts on that). Neither has really fought a top 154 pounder, really, it the Cotto Trout fought is definitely fresher than the Mosley Canelo fought. At the end of the day I don’t see Trout being able to nullify Canelo’s combination punching and I don’t see Trout with the firepower to discourage Canelo, so ai’m going with Canelo.

Posted April 20, 2013 2:08 pm

Supreme Court

Shall we remind you that Canelo is one of the evidence any one would exhibit to show the corruption of the WBC?
He is Mexican like the WBC president….And he was granted a title fight at 154lbs agains a 140 lber (Matthieu Haton) who had not even had a single fight at 154!!!!!!!!!!
Does that remind you Manny Chemical Pacquiao title fight at 154 lbs?
That was FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!
And it did not stop there….
The man you deem “Strong”, powerful”Has been fighting light weights and Old worn fighters….
To artificially manufactured his “ppvbility”, they have lowered the ticket at $10, then advertised the fight using terms like “sold out”……
Only the herd of morons cannot grasp what is going on.
I wish Trout had the power Marquez had to plant this freckled-face in the canvas….Just like his Filipino fraud mate….

Posted April 20, 2013 1:59 pm

Richie Cunningham is going up against the “The Fonz.” “The Fonz” will be victorious!! The thing is Trout can try his darnedest – not look spectacular with his style, but on all accounts “really” win the fight, but the judges can like “how” Canelo put it down, simply because of his come forward style. This would not serve Trout fairly. Trout may have to or can change his style for the judges which would not be in Trouts best interest, being that it (the newly implemented style for the judges) may not be effective enough for the actual win. So, Trout can be or will be, in a bit of a quandary which would take away the “doubt” from Trouts persona in the ring. Knowing how to “bring it” can still be misconstrued as a losing effort by the judges.

Posted April 20, 2013 1:55 pm

I c a good close fight but i hear alot about Trouts great defense and i just didnt c it in the Cotto fight so i think Canelo wont have much trouble landing and wear Trout out. I like Trout but yes im still bitter about the wide margin Cotto lost by when it was a close fight so lets go Canelo lol. Na but seriously Canelos got this.

Show me the link where people asked the same set of questions…
If they did , are the answers the same?
It was universally known that Rigo was more skilled than Donaire.
In this case (Trout#Canelo), have you read a single comment that dispute that Trout has both size and skill advantage?
Historically, which proportion, roughly, a bigger and more skilled fighter lost?
Excluding cases of robbery….
Have you seen a single evidence that demonstrate Canelo is stronger?
None! Nein; Niet! Nada…

Public Enemy – Canelo has power, strength, and he’s focused. He doesn’t have a huge resume, and he has made a living off fighting people he was spposed to beat, but he’s no Chavez Jr. He does get hit too much and he wants to brawl, but that makes his fights fun. Like I said, I pick Trout, but one or two solid shots from Canelo and it’s over. Especially in Texas.

SRedmond, agreed I just want to see a good fight to. Trout is no dummy so I’m sure he knows what it’ll take to win. Anything can happen in Boxing, Trout could be koed and so could Canelo. But this is a sport that is tainted so any fight analysis should take that into account.

Posted April 20, 2013 1:19 pm

Tomato, can we declare a robbery after the fight? These guilts need to quit shaving bouts and complaining anyway… Guys need to go on there with a dominating mindset, both Trout and Canelo should know what it’s gonna take to get the win.. I love Marquez but finally putting some crushing hurt on Manny removed all doubt instead of these laborious intellectual exercises about trying to nick guys… I just wanna see a good fight and someone to take the reins and fight like they wanna win for REAL…If you fight in a guys backyard you’re gonna have to step it up, Trout got the nod against Cotto in Madison Square Garden where he had never lost… He should know to “bring it”

Posted April 20, 2013 12:58 pm

SRedmond, you can call it whining if you want, but GBP, Texas, and the fact that Canelo is a destined cash cow, all tell me that Canelo will have the judges on his side. That’s not to take away from the fact that Canelo is a strong fighter with good punch arsenal. And Trout has the tools to keep a fighter like Canelo at bay. But history proves that the judges will be on Canelo’s side.

Posted April 20, 2013 12:43 pm

Posted April 20, 2013 12:42 pm

Sheesh guys are already whining about robberies and the damn fight has not started it might be a KO or a wipeout.. I’m gonna go with Canelo he’s a strong, young, determined fighter but Trouts a potential spoiler who makes this a very good fight… His size advantage against Cotto will not be the same factor against Canelo who’s a solid 154 pounder…Trouts gonna have to take chances in order to impress the judges (that’s life) this might play into Alvarez’s hands…

Posted April 20, 2013 12:35 pm

Both fighter are determined mentally, there doesnt seem to be an advantage on either side. BOTH will be aggressive!! We can count on that!

Tomato Can…..I think youre right…

Posted April 20, 2013 12:24 pm

Trout wont allow Canelo to “come in” to land properly, hes gonna implement that rangy Chad Dawson style that will allow him to connect off Canelos noggin and occasionally off the body. If Canelo had that BEAUTIFUL shuffle like Mike Tyson did, that allowed him to go in and out ‘at will’ on opponents ribs, then I wouldnt be concerned for Canelos “0.” The thing is Canelo is a bit too flat footed and tends to walk in like a Jeff Lacy, this makes Canelo style easily observable and able to be countered from Trouts slightly taller vantage point. Canelo has really nice combos, but how is he gonna land effectively if he hasnt trained in such a fashion to get where he needs to properly!? Canelo loses due to the lost art of shuffling (a form of footwork) that many boxers pay no attention to anymore, instead concentrating on combos that blast stationary opponents. Longevity in this game requires much more superlatives.

Posted April 20, 2013 12:21 pm

Canelo…a fairly long reigning champ who has only faced only one guy in his weight class, a used up Kermit Cintron…gotta be Trout!! And, yes T Can, Trout will not get any favors from the judges. Still, gotta be Trout!!

Posted April 20, 2013 12:17 pm

Tomato Can

Let’s put it this way, a 115-113 for Trout will be turned into a 115-113 fight for Canelo. A 116-112 Trout score card will be presented as 114-114 score card. Trout will have a hard time winning without a knockout. Trout will have to beat Canelo at least twice to get a win over him. That is, if he loses controversially, he may get a rematch. But he isn’t getting any favors in Texas.

Both fighters look to be in great shape. When this fight was first announced, I had Trout winning by UD based on his performance against Cotto coupled with Canelo’s deficiencies, but now I dont know. Trout is mobile and can box, no doubt, but we’ve seen guys like him get overwhelmed and eventually fold against fighters like Canelo. I still like Trout’s chances, but I want to see how he handles Canelo in the first 2-3 rounds…that will tell the story for the rest of the fight.

One more thing:
One recurrent attribute of moron is that they never learn from their mistakes….
Do you remember the BUTE saga?
And the question the Highest Court used to ask morons over here?
They were saying Bute had the best body punch, the best uppercut, this and that….
The Highest Court kept asking: “Best against who?” We even jokingly stated: “any one would look good beating up his wife”….The rest is history…
Here we go again….same protagonists….same BS!
I read they say Canelo is stronger….
He is stronger against who? How can you tell?
Once you answer that question, then if you have functional neurones, you may review your prediction.
Tonight you will witness a community college student taken to school by a Havard graduate.
There is an old saying: “never 2 without 3”
Tonight you may witness the 3rd robbery after Whitaker#Chavez; Whitaker# Oscar in Texas…
And guess what? Oscar is involved and it is the same crime scene…

both look solid and prime. both are looking to make a statement. Trout’s got nothing to prevent Canelo from repeatedly landing his right and/or gradually dismantling him from the floor up. moreover, Canelo might’ve convinced himself that it’s personal. this is a guy who settles his personal beefs outside of boxing gyms. it’s documented. but the bottomline is that Trout won’t and can’t match Canelo’s ferocity, which is the game-changing deal-breaker in all-things-being-equal situations. just ask JuanMono; Anselmo Moreno; Pacquiao*. all possessing just enough superior talent to have their ass or face planted into the canvas. Canelo by TKO.

I have to say, I’ve been surprised at how big Trout looks next to Canelo. It’s not as big a difference as he had against Cotto, and let’s see tonight once they fill out and start muscling each other, but if Trout is in fact the bigger stronger guy…

ESB blanked my post! Crap! Oh well, I’ll do it again. I take Trout in a close fight. I think the first 6 or 7 rounds will be anyone’s pick, but after that Trout will start to take control and will win most of the later rounds – granted they will still be close. I think his boxing IQ will win out. Props to both men for being such class acts and taking such a risky fight. At the end of the day, I think we are all in for a fantastic fight and class of styles. I only hope the judges and ref play fair because that could ruin a great fight.

Posted April 20, 2013 8:27 am

I’m taking Trout in this one. Truth is, I don’t care who wins, I just hope the judges and ref play fair. I think it will be a close fight first the first 6 or 7 rounds and as the fight wears on Trout will start taking control and win more rounds later, albeit close rounds. The only thing that makes my prediction shaky is Canelo has some major pop and an few well timed shots and Trout is in big trouble. Props to both fighters for being class acts and being willing to take such a risky fight. Fights like thi, and Donaire/Rigo last week is what boxing is really about. At the end of the night, I think the fans will all be happy with this one, unless Texas strikes again.

Posted April 20, 2013 8:04 am

Another thing that could work in favour of Canelo is his body punching. Given the upper body movement of trout that could be a real deciding factor. Than again it’s hard to land good shots to the body if you miss the first punches of the combination comming in. And if trout has the stamina for good foodwork over 12 rounds he takes away canelos strongest weapon Combination punching. Given the odds for Trout I’m tempted to put a bet on him.

I think its 60-40 fight for Trout. Canelo is strong , and Trout got techniques and jabs. Both got something to prove, Canelo is pissed at everybodys saying that he beat tomato cans, and prove that he’s a legitimate champion, and Trout proving that he belong to elite class. I will pick Trout to win in UD, too much lateral movement and jabs for Canelo to handle. You must remember that Trout beat and frustrate Cotto, a very strong fighter–yeah you think Cotto is shot?–just remember who are the people who beat Cotto– now you got my point.

Who is better 22 years old Tyson or 27? 22 years old Ali or 27 year old. It just depends on how well you age and on your style. Canelo could be in his prime. We just don’t know. A lot of the young prospects hit a wall sometime in their development. Father time will tell.

How am I contradicting myself? I pick Canelo because I think the is a good fighter, am I worred about age yes but its not like he’s fighting Mayweather. Trout hasn’t done enough in boxing to be scared to pick against him.

How is that ridiculous? 22 an 27 are huge age differences in boxing, your not in your prime until somewhere between 25 an 30, 22 is still a baby. Only a idiot would think that doesn’t play a part in a boxing match, every fighter is better at 27 then they were at 22. You mature in your experience an mentally, well unless ur floyd they u stay childish.

I think this will be a close fight, the only thing that worries me is age, Canelo is only 22, Trout is 27 just entering his prime. I’m picking Canelo an his combination punching, even if he loses as long as he doesn’t get KTFO when the kid gets into his prime he will be a beast.
