Chisora is afraid of Roberts punching power … as the papers say. He was offered a re-match, but was too fat and outta shape to come out in public.

Posted November 14, 2012 1:35 pm

I look at Helenius musculature and body, then look at Wlads, and I have to think – Should Helenius star using steroids like Wlad?

Posted November 14, 2012 1:29 pm

Gone with the wind

You mean take steroids like the rest of them Klitschkos f.ex! Helenius is clean and tested.

Posted November 14, 2012 1:26 pm

Helenius won 18 (KO 11) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 18
Chisora won 15 (KO 9) + l ost 4 (KO 1) + drawn 0 = 19

Chisora Won Klitschko and was Robbed! Get that right!

Ian Darke is NOT a boxing expert by any stretch of the imagination! He is a football PUNDIT, and a boxing COMMENTATOR, with little boxing knowledge. I say that without even knowing if he did in fact say he thought Haye lost the fight. I cant remember what the commentators said. But i know what i saw

Ian Darke is a boxing expert you goon

Maybe. Only thing I remember of Anne is one high light video of her landing a lucky punch against some really tall female.

Dont take Ruby too seriously, she acted like she was up for an interracial all-male gang-bang, but bottled it, and left me and my boys hungry. Thought we were getting some nazi a55 but NO, the weekend was ruined. Shame on you Ruby

Further more mr Rubes, the british sky broadcasting team usualy consists of a horse racing expert, 2 football pundits, and the (VERY) occasional guest with a bit of boxing knowledge.

Posted November 11, 2012 7:06 am

Mr Rubes, and Hero TOE zero…… I can get with what he is saying. I thought Haye was the only guy landing when he fought Valuev. I scored a few rounds even because of inactivity on the part of both fighters. But i dindnt score 1 round to valuev because he didnt land a clean shot. The fight was in Nuremberg if im not mistaken? A brit fighter is never gonna get a gift decision in Germany, or even a close one, so don’t try to sell us that.

It is not about benchpressing 100, it is about doing 6*10 sets with it. I can benchpress 152.5 kg, but doing 6*10*100 is still hard. And there’s no reason to tell me how much lightweights lift. Ricky Hatton benchpressed 120 kg, but he was 90 kg guy between fights. -Native Finn

Posted November 11, 2012 4:56 am

I agree. I didn’t like his performance against Chisora. His last fight against “Tank” wasn’t all that spectacular. But Roberts only sin is that he likes to eat chips. Otherwise he is living healthy. And he is not on steroids. -Native Finn

Posted November 11, 2012 4:45 am

Tark, we finally agree on something, Williams is a SAD specimen of a fighter…. 5″11 265 and fat… He is there to get KOed

Posted November 10, 2012 5:51 pm

When Chisora said he was going to give Haye “2 slaps” I saw anger immediately light Haye’s eyes on fire.. His blood was boiling.. Dereck got up and started walking towards Haye.. I thought, “Don’t go near that man Chisora” you’re jumping into a volcano.”

Williams is fat as a pig… How many guys weighin with two big shirts on to hide their fat?? It might hurt the attendance if people see those rolls — so you hide them… This is a pathetic fight.

Posted November 10, 2012 5:45 pm

There is a HUGE difference in being a guy with single digit bodyfat or a guy with sheer bulk and a poor BMI…Wlad Klits is a model physical specimen, he is a full 245 or 246 pounds and one can surmise his body fat is easily in the single digits…He is comprised of muscle tissue which gives him power, speed, and strength absent excess bulk…. A lean David Haye was able to destroy a more bulky Chisora, its not a given that the more sculpted man wins but at the top levels of the sport there is a relationship between raw fitness and readiness… We have seen guys bodies change when working with a world class nutritionist and fitness coach (Marquez)… Helenius is a young man and I have seen Hopkins look better than him at the age of 46 physically, clearly this guy is not maxing out his physical capabilities sporting excess abdominal fat…

Posted November 10, 2012 4:45 pm

Anonymous, don’t get me wrong. Helenius is a good boxer with a lot of bang in his fists, but despite that, he lost vs. Delboy and he should have admitted it. People would have had lots of respect for him admitting his loss. But he took the European belt instead like he earned it. That was WRONG. And that’s why he should fight Chisora again next year. I’m sure a healthy Helenius IN SHAPE (!) could handle Delboy like Fury did, but he should really do more workouts and keep in shape. The top dogs in boxing know how important it is to train hard not only weeks before a fight, but before, after and between fights. Robert is obviously not that kind of guy. Maybe he needs a better fitness trainer, one with a whip!

Posted November 10, 2012 4:42 pm

Don’t get me wrong, Vitali has given me a lot of pleasure in this sport. But he is not the man he once was.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:41 pm

Chirora made right decisions by moving to bigger fights. But some people claim that Helenius is ducking him. This is not right, Helenius wants to revenge this shameful victory. Better man won that night, but it wasn’t justice.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:34 pm

Wheres my comment?

Posted November 10, 2012 3:28 pm

Why the hell would Chisora chase a less lucrative fight when he escalated his level of competition with Vitali and Haye??? Made more money, and upped his profile…. Helenius was a guy that he has been accorded a de facto win over (a la Ring Mag) and Vitali giving him a title shot…This is a lower level version of what happened to Timothy Bradley after Pac Man was jobbed, no one respected his paper victory and thus boxing is not treating him like a Champ and the big fights are not forthcoming… Helenius WRONGLY preserved his 0 and Chisora got bigger fights and he made MORE money…. Besides he got to slap Vitali in the face and live to tell about it LOL….

Posted November 10, 2012 3:23 pm

I can tell you for a FACT Dereck was not offered a rematch. Stop spreading tjat bullshiite

Posted November 10, 2012 3:19 pm

Damn you. You twitched my words. Helenius holds a national record in punching power. Small nation, but anyway. Vitalis punching power is so-so, and his performance against Chisora was sad. I saw Helenius fight against Chisora, and Robert wasn’t in any trouble. He looked bored, but because of his shoulder injury he couldn’t knock Chisora out.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:19 pm

Team Helenius offered Chisora rematch, but he refused. Light hitting Chisora would been perfect comeback fight.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:11 pm

I wasn’t all that impressed on how Helenius fought against Chisora. Robert is a fat man who should retire from boxing. At least Vitali was able to defeat Chisora, Robert wasn’t.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:10 pm

I wasn’t all that impressed on how Vitali fought against Chisora. Vitali is an old man who should retire from boxing. At least Helenius was able to hurt Chisora, Vitali wasn’t.

Posted November 10, 2012 3:01 pm

You don’t get dropped in the Ring rankings because you beat the other guy up, stubborn adherence to the party line will NEVER gloss over that theft Chisora endured in Finland… He might be rude and crazy but he deserved his “W” against Helenius, to his credit Vitali did the right thing and did not pretend Helenius won that bout and a win over Sherman Williams is not gonna restore the glow….Fury beat Chisora, Vitali did and Haye crushed him but Helenius got gifted…

Posted November 10, 2012 2:44 pm

EXCERPT FROM WIKIPEDIA ON HELENIUS/CHISORA……………………..On 3 December 2011, Helenius won the vacant European Championship title (EBU) by beating Dereck Chisora by a twelve-round split decision in Helsinki, Finland. The decision was highly debated as most pundits and onlookers thought Chisora had done enough to get the decision. In the Finnish press Helenius claimed he had injured his right arm in the first round of the match, and was thus unable to use it fully.[1] A fracture was found, but it was considered to be minor.[2] The Ring considered the outcome of the match “a gift”, dropping Helenius’ ranking from fifth to sixth challenger. , .[3][4]

Posted November 10, 2012 2:21 pm

Helenius should be able to win because Williams is an EASY mark, so lets not pretend this is some potential “GREAT” feat… Smashing has beens is nice on the comeup trail but the last strong, prime fighter he was in with made easy work of Helenius despite that hometown decision… As for Haye vs Valuev that fight took place in Nuremberg, correct me if I am wrong but that is NOT Britain??? Meanwhile Helenius needed a GIFT in Finland to stay unbeaten on paper….

Posted November 10, 2012 2:20 pm

Don’t judge this heavy banger based on how he looks.. if guy who weighs over 110 kilos can run 10 kilometers in 45 minutes he definitely doesn’t have bad stamina. What I’ve seen Helenius carries his ko power very well to the late rounds, which is not going to happen if the fighter is out of shape. Plus he has a solid chin too, Peter connected him with couple of nice shots which would have put down or even stopped most of these other contenders mentioned here.

i see williams goin in there and landing his conch punch and takin helains outta there

Posted November 10, 2012 10:12 am

Helenius is a very good hw boxer who nevertheless lost fair and square to Chisora. It may be true that Helenius was injured, but it’s boxing – you’re supposed to hurt your opponents and expect to get hurt. Helenius should have accepted the loss and should have asked for a rematch later on. He’s got power, but should definitely do more road work. Vladimir would take him into deep water in the later rounds, and withoutt a good stamina, he’d be taken out by the big guy from Ukraine. Taking Williams as his first opponent for his ring return is a clever choice. Helenius should be able to KO Williams despite his great chin.

Posted November 10, 2012 8:07 am

Helenius has never weighted this much. He has gone up 5 to 6 kilos this year. Maybe this will affect his stamina.

Posted November 10, 2012 8:02 am

I read in some newspaper that Helenius can bench press 6*10 sets with 100 kg. He can also run 10 km in 45 minutes. He’s stronger and in better shape than he looks. I’m stronger and run faster, but running and lifting weights are my only hobbies. He’s talented professional.

Posted November 10, 2012 4:53 am

The only thing Helenius “owns” is the pastiest moobs in heavyweight boxing.

George Groves is like Haye, you can see that Groves is like Haye,he will knock out strong chinned fighters with fast combinations.

Posted November 10, 2012 2:04 am

Chisora is a difficult fighter to beat,Helenius and Klitschko found that out.Haye was 212lbs but had the speed and the knockout punch, combination punches to get him going,Chisora hit the deck like a sack of potatoes, only Haye can do that to certain fighters,he would do that to Chris Arreola.

Posted November 10, 2012 12:41 am

Big News

Chisoras next fight,he cant be beat that easily, except for very fast concussive Haye,Chisora is still there.

Posted November 10, 2012 12:18 am

Chisora is a good HW, nothing more. Have to LOL if anybody thinks Haye is the 2nd best HW. He’s barely top 10. Arreola and more than a few other HWs could beat Haye. His performance vs Wlad was embarrassing.

I seen worse decisions than Helenious-Chisora I. It wasn’t that much of a robbery. A healthy Robert might stop Del Boy.

Posted November 9, 2012 11:59 pm

Haye clearly beat Valuev. Not controversial at all. Chisora beat Helenius but I think in a rematch Helenius would beat Chisora.

Posted November 9, 2012 11:44 pm

As for “injuries” AGAIN who gives a damn? Its a combat sport and if you lose under those conditions thats just to bad to be honest…. Should we negate the result or award you a victory because you were not up to it that night?? Ridiculous accomodations for a fighter who simply got outdone BADLY by Derek Chisora who was slated to lose after dropping one to Tyson Fury….

Posted November 9, 2012 11:42 pm

Dude stop pretending that Valuev vs Haye was some sort of massive controversy…It was a crap fight where Haye got the win… Helenius/Chisora was a BLATANT robbery and AGAIN I ask when the two guys calling the fight on Epix Roach and Rafael say it was a terrible decision then Vitali Klitschko calls it the same damn thing and fights the “so called” loser next and Ring elevates him in the rankings I think the one with the bias is PROBABLY you.. Haye/Valuev was not some sort of epic controversy cut the crap…Dan Rafael had that bout something like 118-110 or something like that for Chisora…

Posted November 9, 2012 11:40 pm

Dan Rafael, Freddy Roach, and Vitali Klitschko all called the Helenius decision a ROBBERY… Ring Magazine moved Chisora UP in the rankings after what was a clear win, and hometown theft. Chisora is crude, tasteless and crazy but he easily handled Helenius and gave Vitali his hardest fight since Lewis… Both these huge dudes were whining about injuries post Chisora…. Funny thing is that David Haye did not even let the bout go to the scorecards, he straight flatblasted Chisora…. While Helenius needed a joke of a decision to preserve his now phony 0…..

Posted November 9, 2012 10:02 pm

Unbiased Dane

I dont think it is so importent how much musclemass you have on your arms, just look at Sanders, but you have to wonder how good Helenius are capable of taking bodyshots, but so far he is doing fine, apart from the Chisora fight.

Posted November 9, 2012 7:27 pm

In boxing physique is not everything. Remember Alexis Aquello, skinniest boxer around but could punch like a ram. However, Helenius really hasd no physique to brag about but Williams looked absolutely sad in his workout clips. The guy can’t jump more than three times during his jump rope routine if that is what he was attempting to do. I hope I am wrong but these two are a sad representation of today’s boxers.

Posted November 9, 2012 7:05 pm

Fight Aficionado

What’s up with Helenius’ weird physique? Looks like he’s never exercised before, no definition or muscle mass. He should lift weights or something.

Posted November 9, 2012 6:54 pm

AD: Helenius,or should i refer to him as Helen, looking at that footage, well he has been to the gym,he was even once spotted on a stationary bike, then his trainer told him his supposed to pedal…

Go Helenius!

Posted November 9, 2012 5:19 pm

I look at Helenius musculature and body fat, then look at Wlads, and I ahve to think – Has Helenius ever been into a gym?

Posted November 9, 2012 5:10 pm

As an amateur, Helenius won twice Price. I don’t see ANY reason that would have changed situation expect that Robert hit now much harder than then. Helenius can take Prices’ best shot but you can’t image it other way round.

Who really cares where fighters are from? Only nationalistic a-hole Brits are worried about that stuff. The UK doesn’t have anything at HW that is very good, wouldn’t matter if you had 100 young HW. Ukraine may only have 2 top HW fighters but none of your crap can beat them. So you have a lot of mediocre crap. So what?

WBO RANKING OCTOBER 2012: Sherman Williams is #10 and Robert Helenius is #13. Mariusz Wach is # 15 and Wladimir Klitschko # 1. So is it Robert or Wladimir that takes the tuffer opponent? It´s going to be hard test for Helenius.

Posted November 9, 2012 2:48 am

I`ll accept an injury can EXPLAIN a performance, but it doesn`t EXCUSE it in a combat sport where the whole point is to injure an opponent to the point they cannot carry on. You get several months notice for the fight, you spend months training specifically to be fit and strong enough to fight, and to build the skills to cover each eventuality. If you then go on to get outworked in the bout for whatever reason that is on you.
My opinion of Helenius is that he has been cleverly matched against over-the-hill names, but that he is genuinely talented. He underestimated Chisora though and deserved a loss there. When healthy I think he`ll be lower top 10, and ahead of Chisora, but there was enough in that loss, injury or no to stop me getting too high on him.

Posted November 9, 2012 1:17 am

Hopefully there will be a rematch of that fight. Helenius will be at 100% next time and will KTFO Chisora. Then all these whiners can go away. Did you really think that there wouldn’t be a rematch anyways if Chisora had won? Helenius beats that chump 9 of 10. So you had your fun Chisora. That’s as close as you will ever get to beating this guy and you lost. Anyways, this is boxing. Bogus decisions happen sometimes. You can bet your ass that all these guys complaining have favorites and when those fighters get controversial decisions called their way these clowns don’t say a damn word. Never seen a completely unbiased boxing fan yet so you know it happens.

Who cares if he was 100% or not he LOST if your body fails or you have a cold and you get your ass whipped you lose… That was a terrible hometown decision… A blind or honest man could see that…

Posted November 8, 2012 5:02 pm

I see a couple crack smokers on this site…. Helenius got totally dealt with by Chisora thats why Rafael, Roach and the rest called that decision terrible (they called it) and Vitali gave Derek the shot as opposed to Helenius who got embarassed in front of his hometown….
