Mick the Marmalizer

So who is this idiot who’s posting a Anonymous & obviously doesn’t have the guts to name it’s self? Could it actually be our former ESB sparing partner Boxing No-Knowledge or the Strawberry poof?

Good post ok kid…..remember too that Geale came within one second of stopping Darren with a weak enough body shot.
Also Radosevic is not Felix’s only body’s shot ko. Check out Sturm v Cheriffi from a few years back.
Sturm is not physically washed up….he just lost his way there for a while.
A fully fit and focussed Felix beats Darren for me….
Darren and his fans in for a shock…

Sturm looked awesome destroying that last opponent to the body, Barker was hurt bad to the body in his last fight, wonder if that plays a part here

Sturm looked to be declining recently, if this is true we might have a pretty good fight

A good Sturm vs the best Barker is probably a slight advantage to Sturm who trumps in experience and jab and defense and power

funny enough Sturm has lost his weight on the cards in Germany dropping a draw to Murray in a fight he won and lost close calls he normally got vs Geale and Soliman

not to say Geale didnt deserve the win but at the time Im like he fought a great fight, I have him ahead but theres no way he won that close in Sturms backyard, I was pleasantly surprised to hear the cards

TARK says

“blah blah blah. farting out of my own mouth as usual.”

Posted November 20, 2013 7:30 pm

I know what’s coming… Not much… Barker didn’t even beat Geal.

Posted November 20, 2013 7:11 pm

Geale beat Barker so no re-match because Barker will lose again. Barker goes to Germany for a big pay-out because he knows he will lose their also. The rematch won’t happen and Sturm will hide the belt in Germany for years to come until he underestimates another Geale-like opponent.

Ray Ray

Whats the world coming 2….wheres a rematch with Geale? Barker landed more vs Geale however copped more power shots, the 2 guys looked very diff at the end of that 1… Now Sturm, a guy who has lost twice gets a title shot at home? Thats wrong. Imagine is Sturm wins? Which is highly likely unless he gets Ko’d. Back 2 avoiding all legit threats…..what a blight on boxing this is.

Darren and his fans in for a rude awakening….Vorsprung Der Sturminator !!!

Fight Aficionado

Yeah, Barker has no idea of the robbery in Stuttgart, Germany that is coming for him.

Posted November 20, 2013 3:41 pm

Yes, he does. A declining Sturm.

Posted November 20, 2013 2:57 pm

To bad Barker is fighting Sturm in Germany because I belive this will be a good fight…but for Barker getting a fair shake..doubt it!!!

We drastically need a super six @ 160Lb to see who’s really the World’s #1! Okay S.G.Martinez holds the Ring mag belt, but could go at any time. So who should be the super six? I’d go for Barker/Sturm, Golovkin, Quillin, Canelo, Martinez + one other.

Skinny steve, I wish non eevent paper titles were put togather to make entertaining fights.

Id much rather even step it down a notch level wise like micky ward vs gatti, as long as im being highly entertained

Good lad is Daz barker, but I don’t think he’s got the beating of strum in Germany or the UK,still he’s set his sen up nicely to make some big cash over the next two or three years and that’s what it’s all about now for him.

tickets, flights hotels booked ………… cummon Dazzling!!

Posted November 20, 2013 11:35 am

Respect to both guys but we’ve seen them both enough times before to know what to expect. Both guys are stand-up boxers with good jabs. It’ll be a classic boxing match with some good exchanges here and there. Barker and Sturm are well matched but I go with Barker having just won the title and perhaps being the fresher of the two. Will be interesting to see. . .

non event paper title

Raybans it makes a TON of sense!!Darren Barker is a world champ who has made little money so far. That fight against Geale was HUGE for him in so many ways. Had he lost that fight he would basically have nowhere left to go. Domestic fights, scraping by. He fought so hard against Geale because if he losses that fight his family suffers. Now he gets a huge draw in Strum in Germany and a GUARENTEED 1 million sterling minimuim. If he gets screwed on the cards there is an immediate rematch clause in London. If he wins in Germany then he gets Macklin/Lee/Murray in a HUGE domestic showdown. Either way he has two fights and will make two million sterling from. Good guy, he deserves it..

Fighting Sturm in Germany for your first title defense just doesn’t make sense.
