The easy solution would have been to agree to the 154 pound weight since that is the divisions limit. And then, require both fighters to come in at 154 pounds on fight-night because again, that is the divisions limit.

I wonder which fighter could make 154 on fight-night.

As far as the 2 pound catchweight, it is a catchweight and Floyd’s team should be ripped for it as being a hypocrite.

It is the biggest fight of Mayweather’s career, Happyboy. He will make more money in this fight than he ever has before. This fight will likely have the biggest draw of his career and possibly in the history of boxing. He will be fighting the top-rated jr. middleweight opponent. This is the fight that will define Floyd Mayweather Jr. more than any other fight he has had as a welterweight or jr. middleweight. So stop stroking yourself.

Wise words by Alvarez’ team. I think it will be either a UD for Mayweather or the unthinkable KO win for Canello. If Mayweather gets tagged and hurt early, I don’t know that he will be able to go the distance (but then again, he’s FMJ, he can do anything). Also Alvarez is hungry, what is left in the tank motivation-wise when the going gets REALLY tough for Floyd? I think if Canello clocks him hard early we could see a historic event that may change it all. Floyd has savvy and ring experience, he’s a total all around, complete fighter. He’s got the belts, the #1 lb 4 lb, the money that his kids’ kids could live on…. The bad is, he’s aging and the hunger for anything has to have on at least some level diminished if even slightly. There is no higher level of hunger and can-do than being young, super strong, super talented and so close you can taste beating FMJ what one has merely wondered about but anyone has yet to accomplish. Not to mention new fans in droves by the day ready for Canello to assume his position atop the throne that is currently occupied by Mayweather. The only question,… That sums it all up: Is Mayweather just that good to put the nail in the coffin or is the dawn of a new era upon us as a young warrior will arrive to be crowned the new king of the division?

The hype and mouth is all for the money it draws.I would not take any of it too serious.Floyd knows what time of day it is and he knows he will have to be on top of his skills for this one.

Floyd Mayweather “TRAINS” like he DOES NOT “UNDERESTIMATE” ANY OPPONENT, he “TRAINS” like he’s OBSESSED because his REALITY is that he’s NOT “INVINCIBLE!,” he KNOWS he ‘MUST’ WORK HARD!!! He’s “CAREFUL & THOUGHTFUL” taking NOTHING for GRANTED by “LISTENING” to & “PRACTICING” till the wee ours of the morning – STRATEGIC PLANS implemented by UNCLE ROG & his father! 4 out of 1 aint bad!! LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT bully Canelo campaining as a light middleweight wants to DEFEND a likely 172lb weight advantage against a NATURAL SMALL welterweight thats PAST his PRIME! HE should “SHUT” his BULLIFIED “MOUTH” and fight GGG or someone his PUNKIFIED BULLY size!!

The only truth to the weight issue is that PFM is not a 154lbs,,,PFM is a small welter in all reality,,,PFM should have Not taken this fight against a young, strong and big 154lbs champ,,,but he and associates didn’t make enough money in the last fight and had to make up,,,PFM says skills pay the bills,,,and because of his tremendous skills it has been true for him,,,PFM is the same size of Garcia, Matiysse, and the rest of the bunch at 140-147lbs,,,PFM has to fight bigger guys just to make the real boxing fans believe the opponent has a real chance of victory,,,that’s how much better PFM is against the current quality level of boxers,,,there is no Sugar Ray, Duran, JC Chavez, Pryor, Hearns,,,quality level guys,,,etc,,,around 140-147lbs,,,I have no doubts PFM is the best of his era,,,but fighting in the 80’s he would not have that 0 in his record,,,I do think style wise Pacman will always present a problem but they would have to fight in order to see what happens,,,IMO PFM gets a UD fighting smart,,,in a good fight,,,Peace

Its been said that haters just want to see mayweather loose but it seems that they just want floyd to fight the best fighters and make exciting fights for the fans. Maybe the nutt huggers say these things because they want to protect floyd with soft fights so he dosent loose. Its not the haters so much wanting floyd to loose as it is the nutt hggers not wanting floyd to loose.

The more I see of Canelo and his team, the more I like him, but he still looks too much like Opie to beat Money.

Mayweather-Alvarez will be a technical mismatch, with Mayweather dominating and scoring a late rounds TKO.
