One could argue that Golovkin hasnt done enough to get a shot at the winner. But at the same time he did beat some very good fighters at the ameture level, and after seeing him fight he does have some solid skills.Overall I would rather see him fight the winner then a blown up welterweight or a retread at the end of his rope.Yes Geale would be good too and may not be a better fighter then Golovkin but does deserve the shot at this point. But if Golovkin did get the shot at the winner would alot of boxing fans watch it…I would say no doubt.

What are you nut jobs talking about his balance? One of his best assets are his balance. It attributes to the fact he can take a punch. If he didnt have good balance he wouldnt be able to take a punch

Tom you ask 2 contridicting questions buddy. How can someone give you a list if everyone is avoiding him? People keep writing Proksa off as a bum etc, but he was ranked no 3 by the WBA, and 9th by RING at middleweight. Lets be real, Golovkin has only been pro about 3-4 years, hes fought 24 fights, and only 3 of them have been standing at the final bell. Hes KOd his last 11 opponents in a row, and no-one has taken him past the 8th round. Now that is an outstanding first 4 years. So what has Chaves done to be so worthy? He beat Zbik (who was stopped vs sturm), He got a decision against Rubio (who gets beat/KOd every time he goes up to world level), and he Stopped Andy Lee (who was KOd by brian vera, and beat no-one)……. Geale beat Sturm in germany (which has to be applauded). You cant say Geale beay sylvester, coz Proksa stopped him, and Golovkin smashed Proksa. So where is the argument? What im trying to say is, Geales and Chaves jr’s records aint any better than Golovkins. Golovkin vs Geale should happen. What a fight itl be

if anyone could give me a good list of good fighters that Golovkin beat to deserve a shot at martinez or chavez jr…and to said that he is the most avoided middleweight its just bunch of BS …

In terms of who gets who, I believe Geale and GGG get each other if they follow the WBA’s orders.
Geale also has an IBF mandatory against Soliman at some point.
Though I’m sure Geale would bypass both options if a Martinez/Chavez fight was on the cards. Likewise, GGG would bypass Geale if he was offered a Martinez/Chavez fight.

Thinking Daniel Geale gets the winner does he not? This guy Golovkin hasn’t earnt that right

I’d have huge respect for the Martinez/Chavez winner if they agree to fight GGG, can’t see it happening though, Martinez might.

Floyd’s skills are eroding, and his legs are shot. he is ready to be had. he had better choose his opponents wisely from hear on out.

Just watched Golovkin last night, yes has some good technical skills, awkward but decent balance, a good chin and excellent power. He does have some areas of his game that will leave him open to a good boxer. Golovkin holds his hands low and is quite open when he swings, a good jab and effective movement could be his undoing as he seems just like the great Felix Trinidad to have an awkward balance in the ring. Fighting Proska was excellent practice for a fight with Martinez. This guy is good, but its too early to say anymore than he will give any of the current champions a very tough fight!

If not the number one contender for whatever political reason, GGG will be the most logical challenger in anybody’s estimation… This is the next great middleweight fight that the public will go nuts over.

Golovkin will be the number one contender for Martinez following this fight. I’d advise his backers to buy him a Vegas package so he can see the fight live, and challege Sergio in person. Martinez is the kind of fighter who takes personal challenges seriously — especially when they’re done in front of the world.

Golovkin will be watching Chavez Jr-Martinez fight with great interest, hoping to get the winner
