“You’re a loser and you always will be. And I will always be here to remind you that you are.”-LMATFO!! GOOD guess Hissy but I’m a Natural Born WINNER. Reminding ME of anything otherwise plays no Factor in that. I will continue to pick the WINNER and celebrate no matter WHAT YOU or anyone else SAYS because what people SAY cannot erase the TRUTH. The TRUTH is that I’m the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!! And HissyBozo can’t change it.

“NO, Braggadamus, you get BERATED and LAMBASTED because you are unjustifiably arrogant; you areimmature, foolish, narcisstic, and a putz. “-FALSE Hissydalgo. How can I be considered all that when all I DO is TRUTH tell and FACT state??? …NO. People BERATE and LAMBAST ME because I’m CORRECT too MUCH. A WISE person always told ME that people HATE when you let them know that you TOLD them SO, even IF you’re CORRECT. And that is what happens HERE…But the GOOD thing IS that I’m SO GREAT at pickimg the WINNER that I’ll always dish out more than I receive. Floyd is similar to ME in that respect.

I see Trout getting the better of Canelo for 12 rounds but the decision going Canelos way for $$$ purposes and promotion…..yezzzir!

“then he can keep it close enough to get the WIN.” But by “robbery” right? You are so two-faced, Hissydamus. Wait, maybe we should call you Patheticdamus. I described how Canelo should/would fight against Trout months ago. Now you are acting like you’ve had some unique revelation. it’s not hard to figure out how Trout is going to fight. All one has to do is look at Trout’s fight with Rodriguez. Too bad Rodriguez was so cold in the first half of that fight. Canelo won’t be though.

“THAT’s why I get BERATED and LAMBASTED when I finally pick one wrong. ” NO, Braggadamus, you get BERATED and LAMBASTED because you are unjustifiably arrogant; you areimmature, foolish, narcisstic, and a putz. In the past year you have picked wrong in four major fights. You’re a good guesser–sometimes–and that’s it. You get BERATED and LAMBASTED because few people like you and the reason they don’t like you is because you are a jackass–not because you “finally pick one wrong.” Get used to it: You’re a loser and you always will be. And I will always be here to remind you that you are.

Canelo is favored because he has been under te watchful eye longer..
NO ONE was discussing Trout at length before he bested Cotto, I’m going with Canelos steady determination to wear Trout down as the fight goes on…

I watched Alvarez vs Lopez on HBO last night, Alvarez is strong and faster than I thought. This is gonna be a barn burner, Trout will have to clearly win most of the rounds or TKO Alvarez, to get a win in SAN ANTONIO? Trout , don’t leave it to the judges brother.

” Plenty of Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Columbians, Phillipinos”… Just try to mention more than one miserable fight between two fighters of these nationalites… just one… thats was worthy of an international sports note. NONE. I am talking about cuban against cuban, puerto rican against puerto rican….Well, and among your great nationalites?? just one… the Pacquiao – Cotto. And if you think in rigo – donaire, the battle …. i could rent my living room for the revange. After that boring fight may be 60 chairs could be pretty enough.

“even so called great prophets like boxtradamus pick’em wrong all the time,”-Nope. NICE guess though. I pick them right ALOT. THAT’s why I get BERATED and LAMBASTED when I finally pick one wrong. Because everyone has a lot of built UP frustration from ME being CORRECT too MUCH. That’s why I’m the GREATEST…YOU of ALL people KNOW about MY GREATNESS. YOU said that IF I picked Alvarado-Rios 1 right I was a GREAT Prophet and I nailed it like a CARPENTER. Just as I nailed what would happen IF Rigo took MY advice vs Donaire…he WON!! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!!

Trout’s going to have to have another great night to stand a chance at winning. Alvarez, can have a bad night and still pull this one out. 1. we all know GBP won’t let Canelo lose this if they can help it. 2. The fight is in Texas, we all know Texas is notorious for stealing fights. So unless, Trouts beats the crap out of Alvarez, he’s leaving his belts in Texas.

I was thinking Vargas was also going to beat Trinidad. Tito definitely won that fight but Vargas put up a damn good fight and Tito also resorted to some dirty tactics with the low blows, but that is the signature of Purto Rican fighters. When in trouble throw a low blow

This is another good fight, and tuff call. Alverez will win it though. The only way Trout will win this one, is if he knocks Alvarez out, or down in every other round. Short of that Trout will be out pointed, or stopped…. Alavarez UD…

Posted April 18, 2013 9:25 pm

Boxtradamus

Canelo isn’t a GREAT Puncher but he IS a GREAT Offensive Fighter due to his Punch Variety and Boxing IQ. He has a way of finding a Punch that will land IF you’re standing right in front of him. He goes UP stairs AND DOWN stairs with his Punches. He doesn’t have his MAN Power YET though and thats why he doesn’t get guys counted out. The ref usually steps IN to stop it and this is against guys who are used to WW and LWW Punches….SO Trout doesn’t really have to worry about getting knocked out with one Punch. And he is pretty good at not getting hit with combinations….Trout will stay on his bicycle and WIN inside the Ring but Canelo will keep it close enough to warrant the ROBBERY…The deciding Factor is going to be foot speed. Canelo’s feet have been TOO SLOW to deal with Trout thus far. But he probably already read MY advice a month ago and he’s working on that. IF he can exhibit BETTER Foot speed and MUCH cut off the Ring SKILLS then he can keep it close enough to get the WIN.

“Trout beats Saul easily. I refuse to call him Canelo.” Ok, who are you? The previous pick regarding this fight, from Boxtradamus, was “Alvarez by robbery.” So either you are not the real Boxtra or you are flip-flopping again. As for refusing to call him Canelo: Who cares! Whoever you are?

Te Tumbo- When Cotto came out he was almost a pure boxer, but when you’re supposed to be the heir to Tito Trinidad, you better be knocking out people left and right, so he really changed his style as he was developing. I remember being in fights of his where after a round people would start chanting “Tito, Tito…” if he was measuring his man too much. The guy is like the Kobe Bryant of Puerto Rican boxing. So yeah, Canelo is more deliberate by nature, but ai don’t think he like Chávez #1 either, he takes his time a little, more.

PEEJ, perhaps but the only 5’8″ Canelo was weighing-in below 154lbs for some of those fights including Baldomir who despite outweighing Saul by a couple of pounds was planted face-first into the canvas. say what you will about Baldomir but he was notorious for once having a particularly sturdy chin.

Posted April 18, 2013 8:22 pm

PEEJ

Problem is Canelo has never fought a real 154 pounder, so all this pounding people into submission could be an illusion because they where all blown up 140 and 147 pounders and he comes into the ring in the 160’s. So this will be the first real 154/160 pounder he has ever faced with real skill. This is a 50/50 fight and I’m sort of leaning towards trout to win a decision

SRMINIMO, there are some general similarities between a prime Cotto and Canelo but despite his punching ability a prime Cotto also had a boxer’s flair and sensibility for scorecard-friendly performances, if necessary. Canelo is a poised and deliberate puncher who either punishes opponents into gradual submission or patiently waits to land a KO shot or TKO flurry but Canelo’s also not too proud to earn the scorecard nod. he’s an irresistible force who figures to steamroll Trout into the ring canvas.

Both guys are just C level fighters… just the truth.. Why couldn’t Trout KO Cotto? why couldn’t Canelo KO Mosely?

Te Tumbo- Agree, there’s no comparison between the Cotto Trout fought and the Canelo he’ll fight Saturday, but Canelo actually reminds me of a 154 pound version of the 140 pound Cotto. I don’t think Canelo KOs Trout, but only because I think Trout will stop trying to win at some point and try to survive. Look at his face after the 4th or 5th round of the Cotto fight, he was pretty close to getting on his bike.

Trout isn’t anything special. he’s another C level fighter that couldn’t put an old smaller Cotto away.. but he’s still going to beat C Level Canelo who’s fought no one who was anywhere near a real threat…. the fact that Trout is a C level fighter is why Canelos camp believes trout can be beaten… but Canelo has just never fought a single top guy, never… Trout gets the Nod just because he’s the only fighter Canelo has fought his size that wasn’t shot or old…

“name one fighter on Canelos record that was an unbeaten Elite fighter that he beat”? unfortunately, not even Trout fits that description and based on the general disdain for Alvarez’s ring-resume a Trout win over Canelo won’t confirm this lofty status for Trout either. quite frankly, it would take at least three consecutive wins v. the likes of Trout, Canelo, Kirkland, Martirosyan, Thurman, Angulo, and Lara to reveal the true top-dog of the 154lb weight-class.

Posted April 18, 2013 5:55 pm

te tumbo

SRMINIMO, due to the hype surrounding Trout, i’m also expecting Canelo to make a statement with this fight. that goal could backfire with a less-experienced fighter but i think that Canelo is poised and reserved by nature and don’t believe that Trout has the Floyd-like ability to foil, frustrate, and pot-shot the HelL out of an opponent as formidable and experienced as Canelo. Btw, there is absolutely ZERO comparison between Canelo and an undersized, ringworn Cotto whose been nothing but a glorified gatekeeper at 154lbs. Trout will provide more of a challenge and it’s precisely the challenge that Alvarez will overcome to maintain his momentum through and up the ranks. Canelo by 8th-round KO.

Posted April 18, 2013 5:48 pm

Textbook Hayelord

I don’t know how the bookies made Canelo favorite.

Trout takes this by UD.

I hope Canelo wins though, lets be honest here, he is a FAR more exciting fighter than “no clout” Trout.

Posted April 18, 2013 5:27 pm

Hmm… Close after 5 rounds? I think it will be close after 12 rounds. These 2 are super competitive guys trying to leave nothing to chance. If Canelo is that good to where he can break Trout down and win going away? That would be amazing considering what Trout accomplished in the Cotto fight.

Posted April 18, 2013 5:10 pm

Fight Aficionado

Anyhow I figure Canelo wins by UD. Trout will make it competitive early and it could be close after 5 rounds. But eventually he’ll concede and try to survive or get KOed. That pressure is going to build round by round.

Posted April 18, 2013 4:56 pm

Reportedly the Mexican authorities issued an arrest warrant for Canelo today. For a street fight that happened in 2011. Why now? Passive aggressive gesture just before the fight.

Posted April 18, 2013 4:53 pm

Te Tumbo- Agree. I think this will be Canelo’s coming out party. Canelo will be cautious the first 3 rounds, but once he starts getting in range and throwing combos Trout will realized Canelo is much faster than he expected and will try to get inside a little. Then he’ll find out how strong this kid is.

unless he’s utterly blown-out, losing to Canelo won’t dent Trout’s marketability. interesting insight included in what Trout said regarding his experience facing Canelo’s “style”. IMO, Trout has never faced a fighter like Canelo who has still not reached his prime. there’s a very good reason that Kirkland and Cotto preferred to postpone and/or avoid a showdown v. Canelo. despite his presumably undistinguished ring-resume, he’s developed into a mature and formidable fighter with the fundamental and even polished skills to defeat the likes of Trout. i will be surprised if Canelo doesn’t KTFO of Trout but won’t be shocked if Trout manages to survive a lopsided “W” in Canelo’s favor. IMO, Trout is the final steppingstone before Canelo’s detractors must concede his elite status at 154lbs.

I didn’t think Miguel Cotto would face Trout, but he did… Then I didn’t think Canelo Alvarez would face Trout, but he did… Trout is a man in the right place at the right time, because I think both opponents overruled their advisors — and one thing is, Austin is not a puncher, and that can help you get fights. Like Donaire fighting Rigondeaux, a fight I didn’t think would happen for a long time, if ever, a lot of good fights are happening.

If it’s not too much of a miracle, Floyd will face the winner of this fight. Pac will beat JMM in their 5th fight … and the May-Pac fight will happen next year. Don’t hold your breath — but this Heaven sent string of events could happen.
