TKO Boxing Promotions hits Greeley, Colorado Tonight

“Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” in Greeley, Colorado as TKO Boxing Promotions in association with Ghost Town Promotions present the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE at the Island Grove Park Exhibit Hall this Saturday night, January 8th.

Headlining this Saturday’s action packed seven bout card is Greeley fan favorite and former amateur standout Robert Rodriguez. Competing as a featherweight, Rodriguez has built his record to 5-0-0 (1KO) while impressing fans all over the country..

Fighting for the first time in his hometown, Rodriguez squares off against fellow Greeley native and pro debuting Rubin Santos in a scheduled four round bout.

In a six round welterweight bout, Longmont’s Raul “El Chino” Carrillo, 7-0-0 (6KO’s) will battle Topeka, Kansas’ Joel Vargas, 3-2-1 (3KO’s) in a rematch of their bout from this past July 10th.

The 21 year old Vargas will be looking for revenge from his fourth round stoppage at the hands of Carrillo in their battle which was held at the Softball Country Arena in Denver.

Also featured at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE is former world title challenger Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry of Wauchula , Florida . Known for his battering ram body shots, Cherry, 27-6-2 (15KO’s), has been showcased numerous times on HBO, Showtime and ESPN throughout his nine year career.

Since dropping down to the lightweight division, the 28 year old Cherry has ended three straight bouts by devastating knockout.

On Saturday night, Cherry will rumble with Colombian veteran Ever Perez in a six round lightweight bout. A native of the rough and tumble boxing wars of Cartagena , Colombia , Perez, 12-19-0 (9KO’s), is coming off a third round knockout of Cesar Rodriguez in Magdalena , Colombia .

Junior middleweights will see action in a four round bout as undefeated Fort Collins, Colorado native Ryan Grimaldo, 5-0-0 (4KO’s) will face off Wichita, Kansas newcomer, Noel Esueda, 1-0-0.

With his all-action style of fighting and brutal run of knockouts, Grimaldo has become a must-see attraction for Colorado and New Mexico fight fans.

Bantamweights will also be in action at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE as Lakewood, Colorado’s Shaun “Bones” Nichol, 5-2-0 (5KO’s) squares off against Phoenix, Arizona’s Jaime Gutierrez, 3-4-0.

Nichol will be looking to keep his knockout streak intact, having won both of his bouts in 2010 by knockout.

Returning to his hometown state of Colorado is Terry Buterbaugh. The junior welterweight, 6-4-1 (3KO’s), battled twice in the last six months in New York City , going 1-1, including an upset of undefeated local prospect Tommy Rainone at Yankee Stadium.

In a scheduled six round bout, Buterbaugh will battle Kansas native Chris Russel, 2-4-0 (1KO).

Rounding out the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE is the North American debut of former amateur standout Leti Leti of Auckland , New Zealand .

Having won his first two pro bouts by knockouts, Leti will face off against Carlos Marquez, 1-0-0 (1KO) in a four round middleweight bout.
