Now Hennessy Sports and Groupe Yvon Michel are pleased to announce that WBC Super Middleweight champion Carl Froch (24-0, 19 KO’s) and Montreal’s Jean Pascal (22-1, 15 KO’s) are working together for Froch’s title defense against former undisputed Middleweight champion of the world Jermain Taylor, set for April 25, at the MGM Theatre at The MGM Grand Foxwods..
Call it round thirteen.
“I know Jean is a class act, and a top-notch pro. I found that out last December,” Froch said of their grueling twelve round battle for the then-vacant WBC Super Middleweight title that Froch won via unanimous decision.
“We both fought like our lives were on the line, and after going to war like we did, you get a real appreciation for a person.”
“Besides, by the time camp with Jean is finished, I’ll be as ready as possible for Jermain Taylor.”
Pascal is equally enthused about his new training partner.
“After being in the same ring as Carl last December, I know first hand that he’s an elite warrior,” Pascal said.
“And with a big fight of my own coming up in a few months, I know he’ll be great to help me prepare for battle.”
Froch vs. Taylor, billed as “Continents Collide,” can be seen live in Canada on Super Channel, and on Showtime in the US, beginning at 9 PM Eastern.
Froch readies for Taylor in Niagara Falls
NIAGARA FALLS, ON April 8, 2009 – Hennessy Sports is pleased to announce that WBC Super Middleweight champion Carl “The Cobra” Froch will set up shop in Canada while preparing for his April 25 showdown with former undisputed Middleweight champion, Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor. The Nottingham-based undefeated Froch will ready his body and mind for battle at the five-star White Oaks Resort and Spa, in Niagara Falls, Ontario thanks to his friends at Golden Palace.com.
The bout, being billed as “Continents Collide,” will be broadcast live in Canada, exclusively on Super Channel, and in the US on Showtime, from the MGM Grand Theatre at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, in Ledyard, Connecticut, at 9 PM Eastern.
“This place is just perfect for what I need to dominate Jermain. This is my chance to show the rest of the world what I’m capable of doing, and a training camp like this suits my purposes perfectly.”

2008 United States Olympic alternate Danny O’Connor (5-0, 2 KOs) has wasted no time establishing himself as one of the most promising junior welterweight prospects in the United States. A southpaw with ring savvy beyond his 23 years, the Framingham native has fought three times thus far in 2009, looking more impressive with each outing. In his last bout, on March 14th, he needed only 86 seconds to dispatch Charles Wade.
