Former world title challenger, Isaac ‘Grenade’ Ekpo of Nigeria has called out Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Lucian Bute, Felix Sturm, Fedor Chudinov and all the top Super Middleweights in world boxing, declaring his readiness to face any of them in the ring.

Ekpo (31-2, 24 KOs), the former WBO Africa and Commonwealth champion at Super Middleweight, previously lost a decision in a bid for the WBO Super Middleweight world title against Robert Stieglitz in Germany in October 2013.
After racking up nine straight victories since the defeat to Stieglitz, Ekpo who is currently rated number 5 Super Middleweight in the world by both the WBO and WBA says he is ready to take on the big guns in the sport to cement his place in boxing history.

“I believe it’s time to take my place in history, and that’s to win the world title. I am ready even today to face any of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Lucian Bute, Fedor Chudinov, Badou Jack or Felix Sturm. I am ready to take all of them down,” the Ghana based Ekpo told this writer in Accra.

Having lost his Ghanaian trainer, Godwin Dzanie Kotey AKA Coach Alloway at the beginning of this year, Ekpo is also on a mission to win the world title for the man he still calls his father.

“It was a very sad and difficult period for me and I believe the only way I can make him proud is to win the world title for him. Coach Alloway was a great mentor, teacher and father to me and it will be a great privilege if I can be world champion for him,” an emotional Ekpo stated.
