Broner-Porter & Ward-Smith: For Every Action

(Photo credit: Tom Hogan – Hoganphotos/Roc Nation Sports) Call it a cliché, Newton’s third law of motion or Karma or whatever you like; it’s a fact of daily life, in all forms, that for every action there is a reaction.

This is especially true of professional sports in which human beings have forever sought to gain an unfair advantage in a perceived fair world.

There are few sports to which this statement can be most aptly applied down the years than boxing. That’s not to say other sports don’t have their problems, corruption is of course prevalent in almost all walks of life and all forms of business in modern society.

Adrien Broner vs. Shawn Porter: To Catch A Predator

Adrien “The Problem” Broner faces “Showtime” Shawn Porter for Ohio bragging rights not to mention a large step forward on the ladder to stardom. The fight takes place at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas and will be broadcasted live on NBC. A catchweight has been implored by Broner in efforts to reduce Porter’s strength and stamina. Can Broner effectively play matador to Porter’s bull rush in a game of catch the predator?

Shawn Porter Wants To Make Broner Pay / No Catch-Weight Concerns

(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) If there were any worries over his mental and physical state ahead of Saturday’s 144 lb catch-weight fight against Adrien Broner – then Shawn Porter isn’t allowing them to show – assuring everybody at the heated final presser that he is more than ready to make his Ohioan rival pay and that he intends on coming out of that ring the clear winner.

Talking to fighthype.com about Broner’s antics, Porter was adamant that he won’t let “The Problem” get under his skin. Asked if he felt that was Broner’s intention with the verbal barbs he directed towards the former IBF champion and father Kenny, “Showtime” said;

Tim Bradley Breaks Down Porter v Broner / Backs "The Problem"

(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) He fights on June 27th against Jessie Vargas in Carson, California in a fight that may or may not be for the WBO 147 lb title dependent on what Floyd Mayweather chooses to do with it, yet ahead of this weekend’s Porter v Broner clash from The MGM Grand, Las Vegas, “Desert Storm” Tim Bradley has spoke to fighthype.com to break down the clash, offering that he thinks “The Problem” is going to be the man with the edge on the night.

He said of the 144 lb catch-weight contest;

(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) There is a good deal of anticipation surrounding Saturday’s clash from the MGM Grand Garden Arena that sees Adrien Broner and Shawn Porter headline the latest of Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions cards, with top American welterweight prospect Errol Spence Jr providing chief support against late replacement Phil Lo Greco.

Speaking at this week’s media scrum via fighthub Broner appeared to be talking the talk, seemingly suggesting that Porter sees the fight – and “The Problem” – as his big shot.

AB = About Bull**** ! We're Gonna Punish Him Says Kenny Porter

(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) He’s been accused by Shawn Porter of being quiet in the build up to their 144 lb catchweight contest, though at yesterday’s presser ahead of their fight Saturday, Adrien Broner was anything but – and at last seized the opportunity to show us all once again what an arrogant, classless human being he can be.

Evidently going too far for some – and looking like an immature teenager out to impress an older child as his mentor Floyd Mayweather looked on – Broner took pot shots at both Porter and his father and trainer, Kenny – essentially accusing the Snr Porter of misappropriating his son’s money to directly benefit himself.

Mayweather : 'Broner Can Be A PPV Star But Everything Takes Time'

(Photo credit: Idris Erba/Mayweather Promotions) I think it’s fair to say that it can be especially difficult to like Adrien Broner at times. Be it disrespecting his opponents in the ring, or exuding detestable arrogance outside of it, the thing that has irked me the most with the Ohioan motor-mouth throughout his precocious career is his seeming insistence on lifting large parts of Floyd Mayweather’s in-ring game and failing to adapt them properly to his own. The shoulder roll, would be the most prominent example.

It’s frustrating to watch, as Broner certainly exudes a natural talent of his own – a 3 weight world champ at just 25 years old.

Adrien Broner: 'Mayweather Teaches Me A Lot'

Ahead of his fight this weekend against Shawn Porter, as part of Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, Ohio’s Adrien Broner has revealed that he has been receiving mentoring from “Big Bro” Floyd Mayweather in the gym – something he feels has been instrumental in preparing him for this Saturday’s clash.

In the eyes of many, Broner will always be “Floyd-Lite”, a poor man’s Mayweather, yet “The Problem” seems to believe that mentoring from the future Hall of Famer is key in finding himself as a fighter.

Porter Slams Broner For Not Talking Catch-Weight Situation

Porter Slams Broner For Not Talking Catch-Weight Situation

It’s certainly one of the more anticipated fights that Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions brand has delivered thus far, and ahead of Saturday’s clash with Adrien Broner from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, “Showtime” Shawn Porter has spoken via Sky Sports to criticise his opponent for seemingly refusing to discuss the contracted catch-weight stipulation and rehydration clause, that essentially tip the scales in favour of the physically smaller Broner.

Porter, who has boxed up at 154 lb in the past and who comes in as a genuine welter, blowing up to 155-160 on fight night, is angry that Broner is refusing to talk to the media about the catch weight – something “The Problem” insisted on if the fight was to be made.
