we will see the proof is in the the pudding as they say. if chavez improves and listens to beruerstan then he made the right decision if he doesnt listen and doesnt improve with the new trainer then he will be considered a childess rich kid. but in his defense and a unbisaed opion he did make it all the way to a title fight . and thou he lost pretty big he did put a real good champ down and had him in trouble .

if chavez jr can make 160 and be fit and strong why not stay at 160 if hes not weight drained . at 168 he gives up his size and strength which is his advantage over the other middles. at 168 he wont have this adavtage as much the guys are bigger stonger not nessacarily then chavez but many can out box him and if there punching power and punch resitince is even close to his he will have a tougher time up there

hecdog if you read a interview with herdia he says if his clients have enough money he will mix up the peds so that his athlete will never be busted he says even olimpic style testing is easy for him to beat . and dont worry if herdia gets busted he will just turn states evidence like he did the time . but I do know what you mean a clean guy shouldnt get involved with him .I dont belive he knows secerts about conditioning and strength training that no one elese knows ibelive he a better chemists

Gotta give Chavez jr credit for taking on Martinez. I don’t see others jumping on that bandwagon. Do you see Floyd taking on a Martinez type fighter? Nope ain’t never gonna happen. So props to Chavez and to Martinez!

Chavez Jr is a lightheavy or a supermiddle weight fighter not a middleweight fighter at all. He’s 180 coming in to fight as a Middleweight, unbelievable. Chavez Jr vs Kelley Pavlik would be great to see at 168 or 175 there both are no middleweight fighters period. Chavez jr vs Pavlik would be big.

Chavez jr get your ass to workkkkkkk and learn from your father it up to you wey.

Is it Marquez’s trainer that he needs or is he looking for the inside track to the “fitness” guy?????

Think of the trainer as your supervisor, Roach should have just told him get your act together or I’m gone. All Roach cared about was that 10% of the purse. If I trained him I would have told him we do things this way or your on your own the choice is yours we can do this the easy way or the hard way

With Beristan I’m sure Chavez also gets Angel Hernandez

All joking and histrionics aside, I actually like watching Jr. fight and think he’s proven that he’s a legit fighter and not just riding his dad’s name. I do wish the best for him, hope that he does tighten up his game with Nacho, and maybe he can give Martinez hell again in the rematch, this time in more than one round.

First of all Jr is a bum. Doesn’t respect the sport of boxing. Doesn’t take tests. Doesn’t take his career serious either. How on earth is that on Roach’s shoulders? Bobcat Jr will get tons of hate due to his last name that Top Rank has used so well in glorifying a mere BUM who never fights people his own size. Chavez will never look healthy trying to make 160 lbs period. Jr lost to Martinez due to the skillset that he lacks. This had nothing to do with Freddie. Roach had a stable full of fighters now they are all leaving.

I wonder why this kid receives so much hate honestly. He is right to find a trainer that would help him with defense. I think he was not doing that well with roach, nothing personal I am sure.

As long as good juice is available, consider Jr. there.

nutting but a prima spoilt brat …..making roach wait for him not turning up for training making roach sit all night having 2am training session …

Posted December 27, 2012 12:42 am

Roach took this spoiled brat pretty far and if he listened to Roach he would have done even better.Lets see if he trains when he wants to train with Beristain.

Beristain will not tolerate Jr’s pot-smoking ways. Not for a moment. He’ll tell him “You are dedicated to your sport and art or you are not. There’s nothing in between. Nacho will drop Jr. like a hot potato the very first time he determines that Jr. is not 100% committed to being a champion.

Right, because it’s the trainer’s fault he relies on his chin and heavy hands and has no discipline. On the bright side, Jr. is devoted to ‘high’ altitude training and now he gets Nachos after all those intense bong rips.

what the hell are you talking about……..if chavez had pushed the fight more he could have got to Martinez,, the boy was inexperienced and showed far to much respect to martinez, with the right conditioning he could make the weight its only because he never trained the way he should have..i think with a Mexican speaking trainer with national pride at stake he will throw it more on the line….he can hurt Martinez which is proven in the last fight and martinez could not he has that as an advantage tand next time I think he will finish for Freddie roach it happens that you get a bad run of luck…..pacquiao will be his swansong in the rematch with marquez mark my words

I’ll be VERY surprised if Chavez makes 160 pounds by September 2013.

Posted December 26, 2012 5:02 pm

so this means that he thinks its freddie’s fault he lost to martinez. What a biatch, just like Khan if they did exactly what Roach was telling them to do they would of had a better shot. Same outcome most likely but at least they would be giving themselves the best opportunity to win. This could help because Nacho is a great trainer but hes gonna have to take his training more serious. He seems like a spoiled diva to me but maybe this loss he has on his record woke him up. His dad is one of my alltime favorite fighters, I would love to see him say enough is enough with his casual attitude towards training and smack his son around a bit. Poor Freddie, who all does he have left as far as big names go?
