I would keep my eye on whats in front of me, then if all goes well, eye up Dawson.

Dawson has his flaws too, such as his bad footwork, and the way he trotts around the ring like bamby. His legs dont look strong either. Pacquiao often stands on one leg when throwing combos. All fighters have bad babbits

Anon……… I know exactly what you mean. But hes still winning fights.

Daly Jnr.. Bellow is a good fighter but he shows absaloutly everything he;s going to do. Watch him n see. He does something with his fists a novice would do before firing, he clenches his fist. I’m amazed nobodys picked up on it. Its not a feint, its a right bad habbit. Watch his last fight v miranda

I too think Dawson would win. But as i said, its not a foregone conclusion. Bellew won the ABAs twice at heavy weight! Hes no mug. He schooled Miranda IMO. And hes getting better and better. Big hitting Mckenzie put him down a couple times, but he came back to win twice. Hes a clever fighter too. Only time will tell

I am not saying Bellew would win, odds are he wouldn’t. I;m saying he at least has the guts to fight the best. And honestly, being a fan of Dawson, I got to admit he isn’t the same guy who put a clinic on Adamek. He barely beat the likes of Johnson twice. He looked lacking against a hypejob like Diaconu. Sure, he beat Hopkins, but Hopkins wasn’t allowed to dirty trick his way to a win like he’s been doing the last couple of years.

Off subject: An interesting fight on Friday is one between Josh Warrington & Chris Male for the vacant English featherweight title. Both are undefeated so as they say someones 0 will have to go.

Kingslayer……………. Anyone who knows boxing, knows it aint quite that easy. I realy didnt expect that comment from you. Ive read your comments in the past and they seemd pretty smart

Anyone who’s a true fan of boxing and who’s seen both fighters in action knows that Dawson would put a clinic on Bellew.

@Oscar De Ballerina. The problem with Dawson and the reason why his skills are declining is because he switches trainers too much. Scully who hasn’t trained Chad in seven years prior to Chad rehiring him, and has very little experience training boxers in championship fights, it’s no coincidence that he looked worse under Scully. It’s not hard to figure out. It’s not to say Scully is a bad trainer, but his inexperience clearly showed in both the Hopkins fight and the Ward fight. I can’t put all the blame on Scully because it was Chad who foolishly fired Steward and over Scully. A lot of the problems are on Chad though because he thinks trainers are replaceable, they are not. He had a total of seven different trainers in his career, he fired Steward after one fight. There is your problem.

Give Bellew credit, he doesn’t duck. When Clevely mentions fighting a beltholder, he said Cloud and never Dawson. Bellew has guts, and you can’t knock him.

Off topic, i thought Craig Mcewan was robbed on Sat in Prizefighter. No way he lost that fight. He threw and landed almost double the punches. Now over 3 rounds that says it all.

I dont think you can say that a guy who won the ABAs twice will be outclassed by anyone realy. Chad may beat Bellew but he certainly wont outclass him. And i would give Bellew a chance against anyone. If you seen Bellew fight Nathan Cleverly, you will know that was not the normal Bellew. He was stiff, and a little gun-shy. Yet he still forced a close decision which alot of people thought went the wrong way. I know theres stories about Clev having a broken rib, but He had no bruising, and he claimed george groves was there when he got the rib broken, but groves had no idea what Cleverly was talking about. lol. as i said, i would give Bellew a shot against anyone

I don’t agree that Dawson would outclass Bellew. Fighting Dawson in the States would be difficult but I don’t think it would be beyond Bellew to pull off the win. It would, of course, be better if Dawson felt he would outclass Bellew as then he might be dumb enough to take the fight in the UK!!!

just curious Ripple why you think that bout Dawson trainer??

Yhea I like Tony too, but if he want’s to be #1 @ 175Lb then he’s gonna have to fight the best! This WBC silver bangle’s a joke & not a funny one. Good luck to Tony!

I like Bellew but Dawson would outclass him. Tony should look for Shumenov or Cleverly.

This would be a good warm up for Dawson after two awful fights, and a win over Bellew would get his confidence back. Hopefully Scully learns from his mistakes (I believe he is one of the reasons why Dawson is fighting so bad) and actually makes Dawson fighting the way he is suppose to.
