“He fought from feather weight to light heavy weight. 173-19-108 KO’s”

80% of Robinson’s victims were outrageously bad record padders.

The 19 guys who kicked his ass were pretty fair. But Ralph Jones had lost 5 straight fights — and Joey Maxim was slow-pokey and punchless.

The Sugar Man

Tark says Sugar Ray Robinson was best Loser ever…are you nuts? He fought from feather weight to light heavy weight. 173-19-108 KO’s. Fought for 25 yrs in the boxing game! Tark are you bi-polar or have some type of mental illness? Your the BIGGEST troller on ESB. You hardly ever makes any sense, constantly flip flopping. You are the Rush Limbaugh of ESB!

Robinson was the best LOSER ever… True enough

Maxim got NOTHING from beating Robinson… Not a PRAYER of getting a rematch.

But that’s Boxing… People like Joey always got shat on.

The temperature was 103-degrees.. It may have been the hottest June 25th in New York… but there were much hotter days in New York and in history… The hottest day in US History was 134 degrees Fahrenheit at Furnace Creek, Calif. on July 10, 1913 — over 30 degrees hotter than it was for Robinson-Maxim.

Dempsey-Willard was conducted in much hotter temperature, 114 degrees.. so it’s not a record for a Boxing match.

It was hot, but Maxim paced himself well for the weather… Robinson didn’t pace himself – which was none too bright.

It’s funny how TARK poo poos the RECORD heat in Yankee Stadium yet he FLIP FLOPS all over Wlad implying he was drugged when he got bombed out by Brewste, doing his own version of a flip flop in the ring.

Oh, dear TARK double f’ing standards there old fool!

Even the heartiest humans can come over all funny and weak at the weirdest of times.

Nice to see you bend over and open wide for Wlad and Vitali with an excuse for all their losses, but try and bash Sugar for a LEGITIMATE reason for losing his fight.

I used to think you were a credible poster, but now I see you for the petty, mean-spirited, jealous, pernicious little LIAR you are.

You are the ultimate FLIP FLOP.

Earth calling TARK, Earth calling TARK!! Come in please.
Time for you to put down the angel dust and stop guzzling all that jizz and read.

Reknowned boxing journo Thomas Hauser (who is a bit of an authority on Ray Robinson) wrote:

Then Robinson undertook his greatest ring challenge. At Yankee Stadium on June 23, 1952, he sought to wrest the light-heavyweight championship from Joey Maxim. A victory would give him a title in his third weight division at a time when the phrase “world champion” really meant something. Only Henry Armstrong and Bob Fitzsimmons had accomplished that feat before.

Maxim was a shade younger than Robinson and, more significantly, outweighed him by fifteen pounds. Robinson was a 7-to-5 favorite because of his extraordinary skills. But fighting for the 175-pound championship was a tremendous reach for a fighter who’d begun his career at 135 pounds.

“How are your legs?” Robinson was asked several days before the bout.

“I hope they’re all right,” he answered. “This would sure be a bad time for them to go wrong.”

The temperature in the ring on fight night was 104 degrees. It was the hottest June 25th in the history of New York. “A miasma of cigarette smoke hung over the ringside seats on the baseball diamond,” A. J. Liebling wrote. “There was no breeze to dispel it, and the American flags on the four posts at the corners of the ring drooped straight down.”

“I thought I was being roasted to death,” referee Ruby Goldstein said afterward.

The first ten rounds were slow-paced, with Robinson piling up a lead on the scorecards. Later, he recalled, “Maxim was an easy target. In the seventh, I stunned him with a right hand to the jaw. But the heat was beginning to get to me. After the ninth, I plopped on my stool. ‘I don’t know what’s the matter,’ I said. ‘I’m getting sleepy.’ That is the last memory I have of anything that happened that night.”

At the end of round ten, Goldstein collapsed from the heat and was replaced by Ray Miller. The new third man in the ring broke clinches more quickly than his predecessor and the pace of the fight quickened a bit.

“In the eleventh round,” Dave Anderson recounted in the New York Times, “Robinson jolted Maxim with another right hand to the jaw. But when the bell rang, he wandered aimlessly toward a neutral corner.”

In round twelve, Robinson forced himself onto the attack again, scoring repeatedly but at the expense of the little strength left in his reserve. Then he hit the proverbial wall.

“When Robinson came out for the thirteenth,” Liebling wrote, “he walked as if he had the gout in both feet and dreaded putting them down. When he punched, which was infrequently, he was as late and wild as an amateur; and when he wasn’t punching, his arms hung at his sides. Maxim, at first apparently unable to believe his good fortune, began after a period of ratiocination to hit after him. Then Robinson, the almost flawless boxer, the epitome of ring grace, swung wildly like a child, missed his man completely, and fell on his face.”

Robinson rose and finished the round. When it ended, he hung onto the ropes in a neutral corner. His cornermen dragged him to his stool, held smelling salts beneath his nose, and pressed ice against the back of his neck.

A commission doctor asked Robinson if he could stand up. The two judges had him leading Maxim 10-3 and 9-3-1 in rounds. The composite score of the two referees had him ahead 7-4-3. In other words, under the round scoring system then in effect in New York, all he had to do was finish the fight to win.

Robinson shook his head. He was physically unable to rise from his stool.

The bell rang. Maxim was declared the winner by knockout at the start of the fourteenth round.

After the fight, Robinson suffered from delirium in his dressing room. His body was covered with blisters and he had lost twelve pounds. He refused to go to the hospital and was taken to his mother’s home.

Two months later, Robinson announced his retirement from boxing. He was thirty-one years old. “I do not feel I can any longer give the public my best as it has come to recognize it,” he said. “I know better than anyone else how good I am and what my limitations are. I find I can’t move in the ring with the same speed, dispatch, and accuracy. My instinct used to guide my hands and feet. I could see the opening in a flash and, in the same twinkle, handle the situation. The coordination isn’t there anymore. No one knows that better than I do.”

Then Robinson set out in pursuit of the next stage of his dream. Great fighters of the past had made good money on the vaudeville circuit. Ray had more ambitious plans. He wasn’t just a great fighter. He could dance and sing, and he was convinced that people would pay to see him do it. He was an entertainer, a star.

Try and lie your way out of that TARK.

I get it. TARK got blown off by Pat and Goody Petronelli, so he’s bitter at Hagler.
Don’t blame them, only 3 defeats in 67 fights. Tark you is so bitter.

There’s still plenty people that believe Marvin was “ROBBED” in that fight, nobody has mentioned that.

Posted August 12, 2014 4:47 am

Anonymous Jerkoff.., You’re making excuses for Hagler.

Leonard was a welterweight coming off a 3-year-layoff and he beat Hagler… He was always going to box Hagler. Saying he was going to slug was for simple shlts like you to believe.

All you’ve got is one million excuses why Hagler lost — and why Ray Robinson lost to Joey Maxim and Ralph Jones.

TARK you necrophiliac so-called trainer of champions who knows less than the jizz he drinks from young male prostitutes for his Saturday night ‘doggie treats’

Marvin Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard
The Super Fight
Hagler’s next challenger was Sugar Ray Leonard, who was returning to the ring after a three-year retirement (having just fought just once in the previous five years.) During the pre-fight negotiations, in return for granting Hagler a larger share of the purse Leonard obtained several conditions which would be crucial to his strategy; a 24x24ft ring, 12oz gloves and the fight was to be over 12—not 15—rounds. Leonard was 2 years younger, had half as many fights, and unbeknownst to Hagler, had engaged in several ‘real’ fights behind closed doors (i.e. gloves, rounds, a referee, judges and no head gear) in order to shake off his ring rust. The fight took place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on April 6, 1987. Hagler was the betting favorite.

The above is off Wikipedia, but it is set out in great detail in both Hagler’s book and in Leonard’s nook how he hoodwinked Hagler into thinking he wasn’t FIGHTING FIT.
He was dropped in his last fight and he says he changed his strategy as he had intended on meeting Hagler head on, hut took this as a sign to razzle and dazzle.
TARK is such a famous trainer and so great at his job that it’s obvious he listens to no one and therefore, he knows NOTHING.
TARK you are considered a joke in the sport. A Know it all that knows absolutely ZIP!

“When your opponent is illegally pushing his head into your face to gain leverage . . .”(?). NOT leverage but release from Chaves’ desperate clinging to Rios’ arms. also, flopping, lacing, take-down, eye-gouging are the various fouls that Chaves was obviously guilty of. presumed “headbutting” with mitigating circumstances is the only foul that you can (inaccurately) accuse Rios of. besies, Rios has got no history of being a dirty fighter and was genuinely outraged by Chaves’ antics. Btw, i’d like to add fake soccer-overacting to the list of Chaves’ multi-fouling performance. even worse than Broner’s over-reaction to Maidana’s headbutt in response to the same situation. he was also trying to release himself from Broner’s desperately-clinging arms. however, that was just one instance. after the 3rd round, Chaves’ entire fight-plan hinged on clinging to Rios’ arms for which he was audibly warned several times and finally penalized for. when that didn’t work, he desperately tried to foul-out by blatantly lacing Rios in full view of the ref; executing a flipping tackle; and eye-gouging that Rios immediately alerted the ref too. once again, you need to actually watch the bouts you insist on analyzing.

The point is ok said that manny hasnt had a ko in years .and Floyd fans is calling his Ortiz fause crack a ko, real boxing fans know a ko when they see one. Garcia fight a ko. Cotto fight a tko. That a tko. I remember after the fight everybody felt rip off. Floyd could have waited 2 secound for Ortiz to look back at him. Or even touch glove. But Floyd wanted a advantage.
No ko for me , you have to earn it.

Posted August 11, 2014 12:47 pm

I said both Rios and Chaves were fouling. The ref was favoring Rios. When your opponent is illegally pushing his head into your face to gain leverage, and the referee is letting him get away with it, you try to make it obvious that he’s pushing your face with his head, but moving your head up or to the side with a disgusted look on your face.

This wasn’t registering with Drakulich… Next step? push his face away, which is a return foul. “Get your damned head outta my face MFer.” That’s what was going on.

Rios was fouling like crazy… Chaves was retaliating like crazy… Double fouls… Take points from both again.

Jack Reese to Ward… “You’re retaliating… 2-POINTS”

Jack Reese to Rodrigues… “You’re instigating… 2 POINTS”

He would have taken another 2-points from each if they kept screwing around… but you don’t DQ the retaliator.

LMFAO!!! Right Einstein… In his next 2 fights Ortiz got stopped by 2nd raters Josesito Lopez and Luis Collazo — to give him 3 KO LOSSES IN A ROW — to guys who can’t punch…

So that obviously makes VO the perfect candidate to do a rematch with Floyd.

Ortiz was looking for a quick way out of the Floyd fight… First he tried to foul out with an outrageous flying headbutt.

When that didn’t work he tried to get DQ’d for kissing and hugging Floyd.

When that didn’t work he took the next two punches and said goodnight.

Tark, Leonard publicly stated that he planned to fight Hagler head on, but getting dropped in his last ‘behind closed doors’ fight was as sign and he changed his plan and decided to box and move and razzle-dazzle vs Hagler.
This is not a secret in the fight game and if you are the supposed trainer you say you are then you should know this. But, facts are you are a lying sack of puss who lies about everything from meeting Sugar Ray Robinson to training 20 champions and so many current undefeated active fighters. Just so you know posted.., “A peak Hatton would have destroyed Senchenko.”

NOPE!!!! … The fight would have been roughly the same whenever they fought.

The reason is: Floyd Sr trained Hatton for his Malignaggi fight.. It was the FIRST time Hatton really learned to box or jab in his life.. He out-boxed Paulie — but during his next fight, which he trained 3 months for, he seemed clueless.

A much more advanced boxer—Manny Pacquiao—boxed Hatton to death in the 1st round and smashed him unconscious in the 2nd round. The Pac fight was WAAAAY premature. Hatton needed at least 10 opponents on Paulie’s level to bring his boxing skills up to Pac’s level.

It would have taken Floyd Sr another 3 years at least, to teach Hatton top notch boxing skills… Ricky obviously had the talent…but lacked the patience, desire, and commitment to learn… He quit for a couple years — and then quit again at the first sign of adversity (a tough loss).

Happyboy. birthday present.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez: Canelo weighs 166.8 for WBC 30-day weigh-in .
on Aug 14 2013, 4:25.

Canelo Alvarez weighed in at 166.8 pounds for the WBC’s mandatory 30-day weigh-in. In other words, there’s another 15 pounds to go.

With the Floyd Mayweather – Canelo Alvarez mega event only a month away (time has flown, huh?), the WBC held it’s mandatory 30-day out weigh-in for the fighters. Naturally, when it comes to the weight, all eyes are on Canelo who will have to shed a pound and a half more than what he was for the Austin Trout fight in order to make the 152 pound catchweight. It will require Alvarez to be at the lowest weight he has been since he faced Matthew Hatton in November of 2011.

TARK is very SIMPLE minded IF you haven’t figured it out yet. He cannot grasp the FACT that there are different versions of Fighters. Thats why he always references the Fight between Ali and Holmes not realizing that the Ali that fought Holmes was not the same version that faced Liston. You need decent vision in order to SEE that. Just as you need it to SEE that the Maidana that Broner and Floyd fought were different than the versions that Khan and Alexander fought. Take you some SEEING courses.

Tark abused Sugar Ray Robinson who retired for 3 years before making a comeback and losing to Ralph Tiger Jones after quitting from HEAT EXHAUSTION in the 14th round vs Joey Maxim at LH in record temps.

Hatton made a comeback 3 years after being KO’d by Pac man.

Sad thing is Tark is either too stupid or too psychotic to factor in what effects this had on the human body. Robinson was in his mid thirties when he came back vs Jones and was clearly never the same fighter again, even tho’ he managed to regain the world MW title.

Tark, is an idiot who would argue with himself given an opportunity and often does under different handles.

Tark, you’ve hit rock bottom. Hatton hadn’t fought in 3 years and was a career light welter coming back at welter against Senchenko he had nothing left. Brook is at his peak as a welter. Secondly Maidana had Khan out on his feet in the 11th of their fight and he has improved greatly since then.

Posted August 9, 2014 9:33 pm

Just so you know says.., “Tark, I pick Brook over Porter which is my choice but there’s no danger that he hits harder than Maidana or can give Mayweather more trouble.”

You’re wrong. He hits a lot harder than Maidana. Hatton couldn’t hurt Senchenko with a damned thing, and got flattened. Brook murdered Senchenko. He’s the only guy to stop him.

Khan got caught with full swings by Maidana and didn’t even hit the canvas.. Danny Garcia smashed Khan. I knew that before their fight was signed that Khan was getting knocked out. Others stopped Corley, Khan, and Morales, but Maidana couldn’t.

Brook is a hitter.. Floyd isn’t.. I’m not saying the beats Floyd — but that’s a much tougher fight.. Brook kills Maidana.

Just because MM beat Broner, who is wide open for arching right hands, doesn’t mean he matches up well with the top welterweights… Broner barely beat feather-dusting Malignaggi.

Tark, I pick Brook over Porter which is my choice but there’s no danger that he hits harder than Maidana or can give Mayweather more trouble. Brook is on the up and has a lot to learn and neither him nor Porter should be looking for the Mayweather fight.

Posted August 9, 2014 7:49 pm

Just so you know says… “How many of Brook’s fights have you seen? I like Brook but to say he would beat Maidana is crazy.” …. Nothing crazy about it if you know Boxing.

I’ve seen enough of Kell’s fights to know that he punches a lot harder and straighter than Khan or Maidana.. I don’t subscribe to the A beats B, B beats C, A beats C line.. I subscribe to skills, styles, strengths, and weaknesses determining winners. But you have to know what you’re looking at and you don’t.

Brook throws fast, hard, straight punches, and that’s how you beat Maidana, Khan, Alexander, and Guerrero.

I’m picking Porter to beat him, but Brook is a live dog. This is the best welterweight matchup in years..

Posted August 9, 2014 7:35 pm

Just so you know

Holy sh!t Tark how many of Brook’s fights have you seen? I like Brook but to say he would beat Maidana is crazy. Alexander beat Maidana and Porter beat Alexander so Porter beats Maidana? And yet you dispute the Mayweather schools Marquez and Marquez beats Pacquiao so Mayweather beats Pacquiao argument haha. I don’t actually subscribe to this school of thought. Do you think Maidana has not improved under Garcia and is better now then the Alexander and Khan defeats? A scholar of the sport of boxing such as you should see this.

Posted August 9, 2014 6:58 pm

Just so you know.., “Tark, so one good win over Malignaggi suddenly makes Porter one of two viable options for Mayweather???”

Cut the stupid crap you IDIOT!!! Porter beat Devon Alexander for his World Championship by a clear margin… Devon certainly beat Maidana worse than Floyd did.

Now Porter’s taking on one of the most dangerous guys in the division… Somebody who would pound Maidana into defeat more decisively than Floyd or Khan managed to do.

Posted August 9, 2014 6:48 pm

Just so you know

Tark, so one good win over Malignaggi suddenly makes Porter one of two viable options for Mayweather??? Seriously you try to portray yourself as some Yoda of boxing but you have seriously lost the reality. You are telling us that Porter is more of a threat to Mayweather than Cotto or Canelo? Wise up. Porter would get schooled. I doubt he’ll beat Brook.

Posted August 9, 2014 6:04 pm

Floyd wants that “Blockbuster” fight, but Maidana isn’t that fight.

The 1st Maidana fight was no blockbuster. It was a slogging mess and foul fest. Maidana looked clean as a whistle after the fight because Floyd didn’t get brutal shots on him. He didn’t throw.

Floyd would have to fight someone like Pacquiao or Porter to get to produce a blockbuster kind of fight. Devon Alexander beat this punk MM with room to spare.

Posted August 9, 2014 5:51 pm

Floyd can say all he wants to about the first fight being a “blockbuster”… It wasn’t ( and some delusional Floyd lovers)…I think everyone but him knows it…I know Showtime knows it…loosing money isn’t what they signed up for..

Maidana has Floyd number, and he might even win a few more round this time, if you drop Floyd I will never stop laughing,as khan drop once, Floyd can’t even hurt maidana.

Too bad maidana has to wear foam gloves. When everybody else fought him as is. Floyd con goes on.

Annonymous . Diego corrales is not the best guy floyd ever faced but its considered by most experts his best victory . Why ? Because he fought him at his best weight in or around his prime n he was undefeated . I would put victories over young prime lions like porter n Thurman on the same level as a coralles victory . Superstar names don t mean as much after they ve been beaten down by other fighters first r on they’re way out r at catchweights . That lesson was free . Ur welcome

Floyds to light in the backside to handle a strong, tough guy like Chino and he no longer has the footspeed to evade for the duration of the fight. My prediction Chino denominates this time Floyds ripe for the picking. Until Floyd gets by stepping stone Chino please dont mention Pac I’d have to agree with Floyd Sr. I’d also fear for Floyds life ha ha.

Maidana is going to get handled he is one dirty SOB this time he may get disqualified cheating wont help him win. Using gloves with no pad hitting in the nutts dude will try anything to win because skill wise he come up short. And so will Manny if he ever has the balls to take the drug testing

According to Tark, the aardvark. Tark once dined with Ray Robinson, but Tark can’t hide his jealousy and continues to slip in in virtually every second or third post some jibe about Ray Robinson losing to Ralph Tiger Jones. TARK likes to dream he knows better than those historians who wee truly there and saw Ray in his pomp, which Tark, was at Welterweight and not in a comeback after a 3 year layoff vs the tough Jones.
Tark is trying to convince people (for his own amusement) that the likes of Porter, Brook and Thurman are already better than anyone Floyd has ever faced. Aardvark Tark is showing the signs of dementia that Nathan Cleverly will soon be showing if he keeps defending punches with his face.
Tark, you like to think of yourself as the puppet master, but some of us are a lot more astute and a lot quicker than you are.
We know what game you’re playing.

Floyd schools Cotto again easily Cotto is too slow and mathotic he could never beat MW he is too slick, in the first fight Floyd figured him out after the 5th like he does everyone else. This fight people still want to see is pacroid

Posted August 9, 2014 12:13 pm

If Floyd is banking on a Cotto rematch he can forget that..
Canelo vs Cotto is the better and (like it or not) BIGGER fight. .. Plus Cotto is with Top Rank ..I thought Floyd won’t work with Bob ?? Bob Arum isn’t giving Floyd a RETIRMENT payout by letting him fight Cotto or Pacquiao ….neither is Oscar so Canelo is out to…’s Danny Garcia and Kahn for you Floyd fans.

He will end this deal as the richest boxer ever which is all a lot of people seem to care about anyway”-I’ve never understood that. How is it that so-called boxing fans get into this big arguments as to how much a boxer is making, or will make, or what the PPV sales have been like. And they use this argument to excuse said boxer not taking on the best opposition out there. I am referring to Mayweather, but this could be applied to any number of boxers. Manny Pacquiao and Ahmir Khan come to mind right ofthe top of my head. Are these boxers that people defend so much based on how much they are making paying their fans’ bills or something? Are they giving them child support money? If so let me get on the gravy train. If not, boxing fans never cared about weather a boxer was rich or leaving in poverty. That was their business. All that true boxing fans ever cared about was the best fighting the best.

Not particularly lookin forward to the fight considerin the options he had on the table but if his last 2 fights r a Cotto rematch n Danny Garcia at 147 then the maidana fight cud be the highlight of his showtime deal . How dissapointing is that for us Floyd Mayweather fans who wanted to see him add to his legacy wit this deal ( if they are the fights not one of them enter his top 5 wins , a mumified canelo don t count that fight ended at the scales ) n go some way towards proving his TBE claims . I’ve got some thoughts on this rematch. Mayweather Jr the scared chicken, who will not face any real threat, comfortably out points the one dimensional slugger. This is the same guy that Khan beat and went life and death with Ortiz. Yet Mayweather Jr has milked 2 fights from this as he continues to sucker his own fans to fork out money for this crap. The sad case is that his idiotic fan base continue to give their hard earned food stamps to Mayweather Jr retirement fund in which he treats them like 3rd rate citizens as he pretentiously flaunts his wealth in their faces. The dullards love him for it and truly cannot see that the joke is on them. Typical inbred USA ghetto morons.

Posted August 8, 2014 11:35 pm

Boxingpedia; I agree with you. But I have always felt that the double jab was good against Floyd. Ricky Hatton proved it. I feel triple jabs will enhance Floyd’s counters. But, three jabs can work sometimes if Floyd doesn’t always counter. Sometimes hook off the jab. Maidana has proved that Floyd can be hit with body shots. maidana even said it. he is capable of forcing Floyd against the ropes. His head movement, and defense. I think what makes Floyd the best out there is his record, and his smarts. What I’m getting at is; I think Floyd knows all what we have text, and has a plan for it. He reads a lot of posts. Either he can counter maidana assaults, and circle him. Or he just can’t. We will see. But I still have to lean towards Floyd because he is that smart. Maidana is smart too. But I think he will be surprised on how really smart Floyd is this second fight. Like I said,” we will see”.

Are you Pacquiaos accountant or are you so “LOYAL”to him that you start to make up sh%t to defend him….Sounds like HOMO sh#t if ask me.

Posted August 8, 2014 11:01 pm

Maidana proved he can forced Floyd against the ropes and hurt him. He also showed that he has better head movement and that he can out jab Floyd. The problem was that Marcos threw singles jabs allowing Floyd to counter with right hands which is his best punch. To avoid this Marcos has to throw triple jabs duck an throw the right hook to the body follow by a left hook to the body or head. This is easier said than done but with good training it can be done. Finally in the last few fights Chino has showed that he is still improving and if he continues that trend he will win the fight but it has to be by KO, he won’t get the decision unless he wins 10 rounds. In regards to the fouls both men were at fault, Floyd uses his elbow and forearm illegally and he turns his back too.

Floyd is going sprinkle and POUR shots on Maidana from the head and to the body. LEGAL shots though. Maidana will be in survival mode by round 9. In the late rounds he’s going to need the knockout and being the WILD MANIAC that he IS he will go for it. That’s going to open him UP to some REAL punishment unless the sharp counter shots knock some SENSE into him to Fight very SAFELY….Either way its a DOMINANT WIN for Mayweather. 47-0!! WOW!!!!!!!

Mayweather don’t move like he used to when he ran into this type of fighter. Miadana riding high on confidence due to his performance in the first fight, he realized that Mayweather is not that immortal boxer people think he is. Miadana by late round TKO or UD

“shadow boxing is for studying your form and technique in the mirror, not for strength or endurance. wrap hands and sbox ungloved, sans dumbbells”

Shadowboxing with dumbells kills two birds with one stone. Every trainer has his own techniques. You can’t legitimately make a blanket statement that shadowboxing with 3 lb. dumbells overworks a fighter’s biceps. How do you know they are overworked? You are just surmising.

@afficionado,,, shadow boxing with 3lb dumbbells doesn’t give you more endurance or make you punch harder or faster. it overworks your biceps. you may already spar up to 12 rounds with much heavier gloves than you fight with so you don’t need that.

shadow boxing is for studying your form and technique in the mirror, not for strength or endurance. wrap hands and sbox ungloved, sans dumbbells

for strength, the better balance between biceps and triceps the better and faster you punch. plyometric pushups and pullups with gymnastic rings for flexibility work well. pushups tend to build out your chest more than you need – so slight incline bench presses with dumbbells that you can do between 10 and 15 fairly narrow and tight reps with, while rotating your wrists and working full range, and for 3 sets, works better. add weight when you can do 3 sets of 15 very easily. do them 3 x week

Yes he is, and swings in looping angles. But I feel he can also box. Just flatfooted. He can bang. He can punch, he can jab. He has a he’ll of a right hand, and a left hook. Great body shots. And now good head movement, and waist bending. He keeps his hands up. Been watching him for years since he would enter the ring with the bald head and sunglasses looking like a bumble bee. Most of all, he has 100% heart. Good fighter. Lots of improvement. Floyd better be more than ready than the first fight because I bet maidana feels 100% that he can knock Floyd out. And guess what? I think he can. But I’m still leaning towards Floyd. Real talk. I’ve watched the maidana broner, and maidana Floyd over and over.

I don’t know, but if your name is “pactards r us” and you’re talking about him in a piece that has nothing to do with him, you might look to others like you’re a bit obsessed yourself.

Very much looking forward to the fight, I have no prediction, will just fill the fridge full of beer, pay my money and be happy. Hope Maidana can land something of note to make it interesting, his skill level will not win him many rounds.

So you watch every Pac fight then, including his back catalogue? Sounds like you’re a little obsessed with the guy.

I expect Mayweather to own the kid but I’m waiting for the Algieri fight and expecting Algieri to shock the world. Won’t be much of a shock though, I’ve already seen Pacquiao lose 5x…..

Moving on to the main subject. I predict a knockdown for Maidana and a Disqualification for him as well

@Boxtradamus : I used to like your predictions but through time I realized you were just a little loser that thinks he knows everything. You always change what you say and you never admit when you’re wrong. I never commented on this, but i’m doing it now just to let you know that you’re a real piece of $hît, Boxtradamus
