Legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao reacquainted himself with the Wild Card gym after taking a few days off due to a cold that most athletes could not have come back from in such a short period of time. This is Manny Pacquiao at his best. No one or nothing can stop him when he is 100% focused on his profession. Los Angeles has been the fortunate city to house the top P4P fighter in boxing today. As is customary during his training in Los Angeles, Manny Pacquiao continued to run at Griffith Park, which led his legion of his adoring fans to bring their cameras, camcorders, tape recorders and many of them even brought their camping gear with hopes of possibly having an encounter with Manny himself. Manny Pacquiao is constantly treated like royalty everywhere he appears. Somehow he is able to not get distracted and handles all of his responsibilities daily. Manny Pacquiao interestingly enough did have an idol of sorts. Bruce Lee. I often wonder about the similarities between them. Both small in stature, powerful, blinding speed and the aura of invincibility. Both had magnetic personalities that made them bigger than life. If both of these giants ever had to compete against each other, the world just might end. If I had to make a choice, which would be very difficult, I would take Manny by first round knockout. I mean no disrespect to Bruce Lee, but Manny Pacquiao would simply be too much. Freddie Roach made a few brief comments regarding Manny and his return to the gym. He was ecstatic to see the same form, power and speed that he’s been seeing in Manny for the last month. Timothy bradley is in serious trouble, and i don’t think he really believes he should be in the same ring with Manny Pacquiao. The same goes for Mayweather, Broner, Garcia, Canelo, Porter Marquez and Thurman. None of these guys want to take the first shot at Manny so they all have tickets to the fight and are anxiously awaiting as all boxing fans are to see Manny Pacquiao return. This fight is bigger than the NCAA College Basketball Tournament. In this fight, one and you’re done applies. There is no second chances, and the loser may have lost his career for good. During the second Rocky movie, as I have mentioned in a past post. Apollo was yelling at Rocky in the gym while they were sparring and Rocky wasn’t throwing back. Apollo yelled “There is no tomorrow, there is no tomorrow, there is no tomorrow, there is no tomorrow.” And those words speak directly to both Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley today. The Dessert Storm cannot and will not match up with the Hurricane that is Manny Pacquiao. The pressure is on. The bright lights are beaming. Center stage is where both combatants will be at on April 12th. Timothy Bradley felt Manny’s power last time. Freddie said that power actually broke both of his ankles. This time around, Manny Pacquiao will brutally stop Timothy Bradley, and the world will know why Manny Pacquiao is considered the greatest fighter to have ever lived. Trust me on this, no beats Manny Pacquiao when he’s motivated and focused, no one. Manny is the best!

alvarado do deserve some credit he fought brandon rios twice and then he fought ruslan and now he fighting marquez he proved he aint scared to fight anybody he looked drained at 140 i think it was time for him to move up i think at 147 he be more stronger more energy and more comfortable maybe he could of took a lil tune up at 147 before jumping straight to marquez but it a big fight so i know he aint going to pass this up im sure alvarado going to try to do the same thing tim bradley did but alvarado aint as quick or atheletic as tim bradley is and elusive but alvarado going to have to fight that way him being agressive going to play in marquez favor

I think JJM is just too crafty.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

Alvarado has the advantages of youth, height and reach. He’s the naturally larger man. But this is his first fight at WW and it’s uncharted waters for him. He’s a really tough dude and a really good boxer — just not an outstanding boxer. Clearly, JMM is the more skilled counter-puncher with better timing. But JMM will be almost 41 when this fight does down and we’ve all seen great fighters grow old almost over night. I believe JMM will likely get the decision, but will pulling for my fellow North Denver-native 100% of the way. Let’s go “Mile High” Mike!!!

Danny won’t beat prov. beating a fighter that has beaten another doesn’t mean that you get a pass. Absolutely ridiculous statement. Idiot

Posted March 21, 2014 9:14 pm

Herrera already beat Provodnikov. Garcia doesn’t have to.

Danny is young. He’s the dominant fighter at 140. Next fight is gonna be at 147 and he’s going to kill somebody. Hopefully Pacquiao.

Posted March 21, 2014 9:11 pm

In my opinion if you think Bradley clearly beat Marquez, you must think avoiding goin to wat in a ring of boxing is a good thing. If you dont want to exchange and you want to hit an not be hit yet you hit a lower percentage u did not win. In my opinion boxing is morphing into something else say a sisy could do now adays.

well atleast alvarado aint fighting no pressure fighter this time so he get a breather cause marquez aint going to come at him plus it was proably time for mike to move up anyways for alvarado to win this fight he got to have to mixed up his attack u cant be predictable against marquez he just cant come forward then he going to get counter he going to have to force marquez to come to him alvarado showed he can box pretty good marquez cant fight to good on the front foot it going to be a closer fight then people think going to be back and fourth actions if alvarado fight the right fight use his head more then his heart i think he can win

Posted March 21, 2014 6:22 pm

MM will have to stop alverado in order to beat him.marquez will have to work overtime.

Floyd, Danny Garcia, Porter the list goes on. The big fight are with Golden Boy Arum is a ass clown for preventing Manny or Bradley from fighting Floyd because his hating ass personal reasons what a Jew biiootch

Titopa, last time I checked every power punch in boxing is thrown with an intention to land. Don’t you think so?

Posted March 21, 2014 5:23 pm

Titopa, watch it! Pacman’s left foot got tangled with jmm’s. This caused him him to fall forward towards that lucky punch. No excuses! Pac got ko’d! I’m just being objective. That was a classic example of a lucky punch! Jmm was being beaten up already. Classic example of being careless on pac’s part. ONE GOT LUCKY, ANOTHER GOT CARELESS. nothing more.

Posted March 21, 2014 4:59 pm

amor – It’s only lucky when you throw it with NO intent of landing it, Marquez had land that EXACT same punch after Pac made him touch the canvas, re+watch the fight and you’ll see. Marquez timed him and it was LIGHTS OUT! only a fool would think it was a “lucky shot”.

Posted March 21, 2014 3:39 pm

Jmm was in dire straits before that “lucky punch”! Only IDIOTS would dispute that! Pac got careless! That is it! Jmm fans knows that and HOPING there won’t be a next fight. Hahaha!

“Garcia should get the Pacquiao-Bradley winner… ”

Danny would have no idea how to cope with Pacquiao’s hand speed or angles–either in defense or offense. Danny had enough problems with Herrera and Judah. Manny would overwhelm him.

Alvarado has been in some wars and he doesnt possess the skills of a Bradley to give JMM problems like that. I feel it will be good fight, but JMM is tough, smart, and still one of the best counterpunchers in the game. JMM aint Rios either…

Posted March 21, 2014 10:59 am

Danny is going to move up to 147lbs and take on Josesito Lopez a real Dangerous fighter, just like Canelo did.. LOL

Q-Vo EZ E. i think Alvarado looked somewhat depleted v. Provodnikov. his punches seemed to lack starch. if he’s even remotely debilitated v. Marquez, Juan will detect it and bring some war to Mikey. otherwise, i think Pacquiao* is the only feather-welter that Marquez can KO with certainty. otherwise, he’s too small to seriously campaign at welter. he looked a size smaller v. Bradley and Tim isn’t a big welter. nonetheless, if Alvarado brings it directly to Marquez, he’s playing with “Dinamita”. in that scenario, Marquez will make something happen by KO.

Bradley for Philippine President

I think Alvarado will put up a good fight but in the end get countered by the masterful Marquez. Experience wins this bout.

Posted March 20, 2014 10:00 pm

My guess is it will be like someone said, a stoppage. JMM will stop Alvarado. Alvarado reminds me a bit of Juan “baby bull” Diaz. I hope Im right on this one.

Posted March 20, 2014 9:55 pm

Marquez is Legend and has had a great career, he should have retired after the Pacquaio KO. Bradly beat him on the cards and got the decision. His age and slowing reflexes are catching up with him. His timing and knowledge in the ring will still out class most fighters. Alvarado is a solid fighter with good skills. Going to be interested to see how much is left after that beating he took from Provedkin. I want to believe the old man has one more left him but time catches up with everybody.

Posted March 20, 2014 9:39 pm

Excellent piece , the writer reminds me when old people poke you at a wedding and say “you’re next”. So next time I was at a funeral I poked them and said “you’re next”.

Posted March 20, 2014 9:27 pm

“Marquez is an old man… Bradley certainly DID beat him. That was no gift decision.”

By a hair. Bradley beat him by a hair. Judges scorecards: 115-113, 116-112, 113-115. Which reflects pretty much what everyone saw–a very close fight.

Posted March 20, 2014 9:21 pm

This writer is a hack , no nuts no babies!

Posted March 20, 2014 9:17 pm

Marquez is an old man… Bradley certainly DID beat him. That was no gift decision.

So that’s the only saving grace for Alvarado.. Can he beat an old man who fought 15 years as a featherweight??? MA’s corner should have pulled the plug earlier in his Provodnikov fight because he literally got smashed.. When you have a tough fighter you have to watch more carefully, because they can absorb a frightful beating before going down and out.. I would have stopped it much earlier.

I think Marquez saw that… He’s a clever veteran and also knows Alvarado is there to be hit.

Posted March 20, 2014 9:17 pm

HIDALGO Very good points. The reason I’m predicting Alvarado probably/might go the distance is basically because Marquez won’t bring a war to Alvarado nor apply the pressure that Provodnikov nor even Rios did. Marquez is not that type of fighter. He’s still a great fighter but not the same as he was 5 years ago. BUT.. if he senses that Mike is ready to be taken then yes, he may well go for “the kill”. Another factor is if Alvarado is in FACT damaged, that can very well determine the end result that you predict. But if he isn’t then, despite the opinions of his critics, Mike has proven that he can take it as well. Marquez is accurate, but not as heavy handed nor as intensive Provodnikov.

easy night for marquez. not interested in pacquiao vs. marquez 5,6,7,or 8. no guarantee pacquiao beats bradley.

Posted March 20, 2014 8:38 pm

“Ped Man Marquez is a desperate Ped brain damaged fighter. No one cares about him any more. He took a butt kicking from Bradley and should retire now.”

You and others can BS yourself until the end of time Hec Dog, but Bradley didn’t even come close to kicking Marquez’s butt. Juan was more accurate with his punches but threw less. Tim threw more and was less accurate. Bradley won the fight by a hair, and it wouldn’t have been unfair to give the win to Marquez. Marquez is a serial whiner, but he’s no idiot. He knows the fight was very, very close and in his mind of course, he thought he won.

“Didn’t he say “it makes me weak” and that he’s “scared of needles”?? ”

“I believe that it will go the distance and believe that Marquez will win.”

EZ E, if anybody on these discussion threads has the knowledge and experience to give a reasonable opinion on this fight, you certainly do. But I beg to differ with you. I think Marquez is going to stop Mike and it won’t be pretty. I also think that if Mike makes it through eight rounds he’ll be lucky. He has never faced a puncher with JMM’s accuracy. I think Mike is really going to get worked over.

And to add… Pacquioa DID NOT, I repeat DID NOT give immediate rematches. Pacturd made JMM wait and wait and wait…. Pacquioa avoided fights with Marquez at all costs. It wasn’t Pacturd’s pimp Bob Arum stepped in and told Pacturd he had no choice but to fight JMM. After ALL other opponents were crossed out of the list. Then and only then did Pacquioa agree. So get it right.

Posted March 20, 2014 8:11 pm

Move on…..

Why not rematch??, ummm because JMM only has one choice and that is to knock that mothf*#@er out again. If it goes to a decision we already know Pacquioa and his team have the judges in their pockets. Thats why. JMM knows he got his revenge from those previous robberies. Justice is served, nothing else to prove. Replay that last fight, that says it all! Why is Pacquioa whinning now? that should be the real question…move on bioatch!!

Posted March 20, 2014 8:08 pm

Pac gave Marquez THREE REMATCHES. If I remember correctly, Marquez once turned down Manny for whatever reason and lost to Chris John in Indonesia for comparative peanuts. Don’t make such a federal case of how much time they took to be re-matched, the fact is that they actually happened FOUR TIMES, un-like many most desired fights that we’re NOT getting, and probably NEVER will. The FIRST thing Marquez did when he defeated Pac was announce that he would NEVER fight Manny again. Why? Even his countrymen pleaded with JMM not to rematch Manny. Why? Props to JMM for his SENSATIONAL kayo win, a classic! Now he’s finally woken up and realized that his best money option is Pac. The truth is that Manny has NEVER needed Marquez economically and the purses Pac amassed vs Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito.. prove it. But looking at it from a LEGACY point of view, yes he did and they’ll be en-twined together forever. As for Marquez vs Alvarado, it’s a good fight. Many on this site criticize Marquez by alleging that Alvarado is damaged goods and/or because he couldn’t come out for 10th round. How much punishment does a fighter have to take to satisfy certain fans that never no more than a school yard bloody nose?? Anyway, I believe that it will go the distance and believe that Marquez will win. We pay to see boring PPV fights, mis-matches, over hyped talent and tune in to countless other disappointments. As for ME, I rather see Marquez vs Pac V because I’m GUARANTEED a CLASSIC, whoever wins. I’ve been an avid admirer of JMM for ages, I’ve collected 52 of his fights which I show, copy, donate and recommend to the hundreds of young fighters I’ve met or trained in the various gyms been associated with. Just my humble outlook.

Cheating Chihuahuas or Public Enemy – you really need to stop mouthing off about Mexicans. It shouldn’t matter where these boxers hail from. They put their lives on the line with each match. All of these guys deserve more respect. Don’t get so bitter when a Rican loses a fight. It’s a sport. No need to make it so personal.

I am just sick of hearing you bad mouth Mexicans. I find it very offensive.

Taking Bradley by decision.

Posted March 20, 2014 5:03 pm

Bradley is not a push-over. He may not have the power that Pac has but has proven that he can bang with the best. I wouldn’t rule out a Bradley victory considering than Pac is not as young and fast as he used to be.

I predict Marquez over Alvarado, but it may be a very close fight. Alvarado can box and can take a punch. Juan’s legs are slower and I’m sure Alvarado’s corner has studied the Bradley-Marquez fight and realized that Marquez has slowed down a lot from his prime.

Posted March 20, 2014 5:00 pm

How is Marquez going to look physically for this one. He was all bulked up for the Pac fight, and looked like a pale old man for Bradley fight. What is wrong with his training. Drinking urine for one fight and no urine for the other??. I’m perplexed.

“..Manny 3, Ped Man Marquez 1..” That isn’t even correct “officially”. Officially Pac is 2-1-1 vs. Marquez with both wins by SD or MD. Those cards are all one disputed round from Pac being 0-4. Close fights every single one even up to the KO round.

Ped Man Marquez is a desperate Ped brain damaged fighter. No one cares about him any more. He took a butt kicking from Bradley and should retire now. He sure hasn’t looked muscle bound any longer sine they started keeping a close eye on him and made the testing more strict. He looks old, off balance and simply old. I would not be surprised if Alverado beats him up. Alvarado is a big tough fighter. Life catches up to those that cheat. Marquez has rubbed people wrong for denying Manny a 5th fight, and his hiring of Angel Hereida, and his dumb excuses for not granting Manny another fight. Marquez was nothing before Manny beat him up. He was making pennies. he was beat by Chris John. Ped Man Marquez should get on his hands and knees and beg for another fight vs Manny. Ped Man Marquez could never headline any PPV fights because he was never a draw. Manny gave him everything. Did you see Marquez and his angry rage with Angel Hereida in hi segment leading up to the Bradley fight? Sure looks like signs of Roid Rage. Anyway, Marquez will be known as Bozing’s biggest cry baby and whiner. Sure is interesting that he thinks he’s the best, but won’t call or accept other fights (Floyd, Provodnikov, Garcia, Porter even Broner). Ped Man Marquez is a good fighter, but he was never great in any way. He needs to pack his bags and retire. Manny 3, Ped Man Marquez 1. Unless Ped Man dares to step in with Manny one more time. First things firt, Manny gets the title and hopefully Alvarado doesn’t beat up Ped Man Marquez, which just might happen. Good bye Ped Man Marquez.

Pretty good scrap but Alvarado may be damaged goods after that carnage in his last bout. Marquez should win this handily.

Posted March 20, 2014 2:15 pm

Thats ridiculous. Just like Pac wouldn’t take the fight with Floyd because of the money, Marquez felt he should of gotten more than Pac so he didn’t take the fight. That was not a lucky punch. And Marquez should of gotten the nod in the 3rd fight. One thing to note here is Pac has knocked down Marquez a few times but couldn’t keep him down. Marquez was able to keep Pac down though

Ike – Use your head…first of all, it took Pac 3 years to give Marquez a 3rd fight after their controversial 2nd meeting, why didn’t Pac fight him right away? Especially after Pac was awarded a highly disputed split decision win…secondly, Pacquiao NEVER won a clear cut / non-disputed win over Marquez, not once in their first 3 fights, but in the 4th fight, we got a CLEAR CUT winner…that was Marquez.

Cheatin Chihuahuas De Messyhoe – Because when the 5th fight with Pac was offered to Marquez, it was simply a money fight, no title on the line…Bradley is the one with the title. If Marquez beats Alvarado that gets him the winner (title holder) of Pac vs Bradley II. Marquez wants the title, Provo can’t give him what he wants, beating Alvarado DOES.

It is hard to tell Marquez to retire when the man is in every fight win or lose. Easy to downgrade Alvarado from behind a keyboard. But there isn’t a ton of 5′-7″ 40something year olds standing in line to fight the guy. It isn’t in Marquez to take an easy fight. While I think Marquez beats Alvarado this isn’t going to be a walk in the park. Marquez/Pac is one of the greatest fight series in boxing. When you put those two together they never disappoint. This is a reminder of what boxing should be, the best vs. the best. Not like the over-hyped mismatches that are common place today.

I won’t front.. I think I’d rather see Marquez lose and retire already.. and Pacman fight Provodnikov or Mayweather….
