Te Tumbo.., “Cotto’s knees probably haven’t recovered from bowing-down to Tony or from kneeling in front of his chubby bed-buddy.”
Cotto beat the crap out of Cheato in their rematch… He was getting ready to do a Mosley like job on him if it went one more round—as you recall Cotto won every round and pasted Cheato’s right eye shut. His knees are doing well… Better than Cheato’s eye and the rest of his battered face.Posted January 25, 2014 7:33 pm
Why is no one giving Collazo a shot at beating Ortiz? I think its a pretty good possability that Ortiz looses this fight. Collazo is a very solid fighter with a very good chin. The guys never really been hurt and hes been in the ring with some dam good fighters. I think Collazo wins this one on the scorecards.Posted January 25, 2014 3:24 pm
“Ortiz fan has to admit that he seems quick to quit when things are going south.” – Ortiz has fans? He quits when he gets roughed up. i can remember the same Ortiz-Hating dunces favoring Berto. without hesitation, i picked Ortiz to win on the ferocity-factor alone and the bout unfolded preCISEly as i predicted. release your Hate and Stick to Boxing. Btw, i also favored Mayweather over Ortiz without hesitation and consider it a masterful KO victory for Floyd . . . Get It?Posted January 24, 2014 7:02 pm
“WUTUPDOE”, your sensitivity to “Mexican” aside, what boxing sense can you share to back up your post? othewise, i would favor Ortiz in a rematch v. Maidana and a bout v. Hidalgo.., Floyd was beating the crap out of Oritz for 4 rounds.. Ortiz quit against Josesito Lopez and Marcos Maidana… He doesn’t like to take beatings … Ortiz tried to foul out.. Failing that effort, he found another way to end the fight.
It isn’t Floyd’s job to watch the referee… Cortez had his head up his ass.
The command to resume boxing was given.. Ortiz went to hug and kiss one more time — Floyd wasn’t having it.. Floyd probably wanted to get more rounds in if he could.. Lots of rounds are good to have.. Unfortunately Ortiz wasn’t up to it.Posted January 24, 2014 12:50 am

Patrick2, the Mayweather/Ortiz fight was a joke. Mayweather got a gift win. A no contest should have been the final decision with an immediate rematch ordered because Ref Cortez was not even aware the fighters were fighting. So how could it have been a “legal” KO? You, Tark, and whoever claim what you want. I know incompetence when I see it. So does Mayweather. That’s why he took advantage of the moment.
Besides that, Mayweather is the chosen one. That’s why he got away with the win.Posted January 23, 2014 11:52 pm
Excuse me Tark, I meant to say that I challenge you to prove to me that all the things I said happened didn’t happen.Posted January 23, 2014 11:51 pm
BTW Tark, you’re calling me crazy but you’re the guy who’s been claiming that Ortiz intentionally held his hands by his sides because he WANTED Mayweather to suckerpunch him. Now there’s some crazy thinking.
You are real quick to call out “corrupt” judges when it suits your needs but you won’t even admit to what anyone can clearly see just by watching a replay of the 4th round. I challenge you to prove to me that Cortez was in control of the fight in the 4th, that he wasn’t looking elsewhere and talking to someone outside the ring, that he didn’t give the fighters mixed and confusing signals, and that he never even saw Mayweather throw his first sucker punch, and that Ortiz was knocked out and lost the fight mainly because Cortez didn’t do his job!! You know darn well all that happened. Yet you’re happy with the outcome of the fight simply because of how Ortiz acted. Ortiz deserved it. Blah, blah, blah. What a load.Posted January 23, 2014 11:47 pm
“Hidalgo, you’re crazy man”
Spare me, Tark.
Cortez wasn’t even paying attention to the fighters after he called them back to the center of the ring in the 4th. Nor was he clear in telling or signaling them to resume boxing. He didn’t even see Mayweather’s first sucker punch because Cortez was busy looking at and talking to someone else outside the ring–meanwhile he was wavering his left hand between them as if to keep them apart. Then he scrambled like a mad man to take up the count after the official outside the ring signaled him to. The video of the fight doesn’t lie. Cortez was lost. The end of the fight was a fiasco, orchestrated by some of the poorest reffing that boxing has ever seen.
Just because the fight ended the way you wanted it to doesn’t change what really happened. Watch some replays. Again. Then if you want to keep lying to yourself feel free to do so. You and anyone else under the same delusion.Posted January 23, 2014 11:40 pm

I think Ortiz had the blue print to beat Mayweather ( not the skills or ring IQ though ) fight dirty, take some deductions and mess him up, because ain’t no one out there is going to out box him. Even an a loss with a bruised and bloody Mayweather would be considered a win no matter how in the ring it occured.Posted January 23, 2014 9:34 pm
Hidalgo you’re crazy man… If you got the chance to knock somebody out who just head butted you in the face with a jumping headbutt — and opened a big cut in your mouth, you would take it man. You would take him out. Believe me.
Floyd could taste the blood. He didn’t care how many kisses and hugs Ortiz wanted to shower him with. He wanted to put Victor TFO… Ortiz knew it by the look in Floyd’s eye. The cold look of a killer.
That’s why he was trying to make nice nice.Posted January 23, 2014 9:07 pm

“Ortiz never deserved a rematch.”
Patrick2, I never felt Ortiz “deserved” a rematch. I wanted to see a rematch because the whole fight was a fiasco, from Ortiz’s blatant headbutting, to the kissing and hugging, to Floyd’s sucker punching (“legal” or not), and to Ref Joe Cortez’s pathetic loss of control of the fight. That was one of the worst bungled reffing jobs I have ever seen and simply because of that a no-contest should have been the decision and an immediate rematch ordered.
But now? No. Ortiz has to prove he’s not going to quit or break down every time the going gets rough. Then he has to prove he’s a legit top contender or potential champion. I don’t think he’ll ever do that again.Posted January 23, 2014 8:56 pm
Ortiz never deserved a rematch. Once he started getting dominated by Floyd, he turned to REPEATED, BLATANT fouling. Thank you FMJ for dropping him, with a legal punch, and getting his cheating azz out of the ring.Posted January 23, 2014 8:27 pm

I find it odd that Pacquiao fans are obsessed with Mayweather. Some of you guys say his next fight will not do good numbers can’t stay out of your mouths. Face it, you pay to see him lose and get disappointed every single time. Quit the whining and name calling because if any of you really wanted to see him lose, you’d get your fat asses from behind the keyboard and into a boxing ring for training with the idea of defeating him yourselves.

Think Floyd any of these fights presents the least minute amount of danger, let along a legitimate challenge to Floyd? Think any of these fights are Hall of Fame caliber fights or legacy defining fights? Better yet, would any of these fights prove Floyd is better than if he did not fight them? Of course not!! They are not world class however, they are in the class of has beens, Floyd’s preferred type of opponents. Easy fight, Easy money. No legacy fighting….just fighting for money. HELL NO!! Ortiz didn’t even deserve the first fight he had with Floyd. He had already been DQ’d for a foul and quit a fight. Now he’s been KO’d by Lopez, and though his KO by Floyd was on a sucker punch, Floyd was landing all kinds of shots on Ortiz starting with the 4 first right hand leads in the fight. Hell Floyd even when as far as throwing a 5 punch combination which is something he almost never does. Ortiz is weak mentally, and beyond that he doesn’t have what it takes physically to give Floyd a hard time.
