The disgusting aspect of this is that the promoter will probably own this poor guy now. The disgusting side of America is that they attach a price tag to your life. If anyone disagrees they are socialist communists…..disgusting!! the poor always suffer where free markets thrive.

If I had a dollar to donate I wonder where I would put it?

@ Andrey Ryabinsky: There should be more people like you in this world! God bless you for helping Magomed Abdusalamov and his family! :-)

Thank God someone is showing some heart. This guy was a warrior man. I have mad respect for dude. They need some kind insurance for these athletes man. That’s ridiculous.

Dear Mr. Ryabinsky first let me thank you for stepping up to the plate and helping this kid in his time of need ,may God bless you 10 fold. One of my fighters Larry White fought Magomed in March of 2009. I got a chance to meet him after the fight which he won by first round knockout . He is a great young man and he is funny which I am sure you know. I understand that he is still in the hospital recovering . He and his family are in my prayers . I picked him to be a world champion back then now none of that matters now .These men put their lives on the line for us all they ask of us is to cheer them on and respect what they do.Again sencerely from the bottom of my heart thank you and God bless.

Good man. God bless him.

We need more people like Ryabinsky in boxing and bussiness…who arent afraid to give back and help…instead of these fat cats always just looking out for themselfs and their advantages.

If Magomed lives through this trial, he’s cheated death. As he’s a family man, to risk severe injury and death again would be be insane.

Godbless Andrey Ryabinsky….other promoters should really take note. RJ

medical clearance, enter the ring again…this is way beyond ignorance. He will be very lucky to survive and lets hope he can live a normal life.

the science

“with medical clearance, enter the ring????” Right genius. Get a clue. That part of his life is over. Mago and his family are in my prayers. The more realistic stance is to hope he can resume a normal life , raise his children, and live a productive life…..Where do they get these writers?? Who edits these clowns?

It’s Me, Ernie

Class move just when the family and the sport could use it the most…

Posted November 25, 2013 7:50 pm

the author is plain ignorant. the questions are whether he survives at all, and if yes, whether he will be able to have normal life, at least as a person with disabilities. It is beyond bad taste to wish Mago get in the ring again. And it is total disgrace that he is in need for financial assistance. It resembles slave fights rather than modern sport.

Yeah mabye the writer of the article is right, let Mago recover, put some metal plates in his head, clear him medically and then he can rematch perez and win this time hopefully. Sounds like the writer is really thinking with his dip stick, ehhh.

Posted November 25, 2013 3:24 pm

Enter the ring again?? The author is out his damn mind. Lets just hope he can go home and live a normal life

Posted November 25, 2013 2:57 pm

The longer Mago is kept in the hospital, the more chance he has to catch a nosocomial disease, then his life will be in double jeopardy. It’s sad to think that errors and stupidity put him in the hospital.

The author smoked crack before posting this story. There’s no way in hell Mago will ever fight again. It’s incomprehensible anyone would hope he enters the ring again. He’ll be fortunate to live a normal live without permanent brain damage.

Good to hear someone is stepping up. Ironic this Ryabinsky isn’t even his promoter unless he’s an anonymous investor. The sad thing is they brought Mago out of the coma last week but had to put him back in because his temperature passed 103.

Well if he heals up that well more power to him, metal plate and all but I think he is suseptable to this type of injury now and why risk his life and fight again even if they cleared him, his life is worth more than getting in the ring again.

Posted November 25, 2013 2:08 pm

Jim: why insane, Barrera had a metal plate in his head…

Posted November 25, 2013 1:31 pm

Even if he could box again, it would be insane for Abdusalamov to do so.

Posted November 25, 2013 12:41 pm

While it was a catastrophic proportion disgrace from Mago’s corner and event organizers/handlers it’s a refreshing to read this a cass act and move by Ryabinsky. Respect and may God bless Andrey for his good deeds!!!

If I was Mago’s trainer or cornerman I’d give all my entire profits erned on the event to him after doing that mistake what John David Jackson did by letting Mago to continue while he didn’t answer his own questions in the corner, kept standing and looked confused. A trainer/corner should have the sense what they’re doing and HW-boxing is a fighter’s life-threathening business if you don’t do your job responsibly.

This is a joke right, he hopes he recovers and reenters the ring. This guy will never fight again, it’s over for a boxing career, you’d have be insane to think he will fight again. hopefully he is able to function halfway normal or better the rest of his life.
