Floyd is a legend, with nothing left to prove. To brng up cheaterito’ s name is total disrespect to the sport

Finally someone makes sense I completely agree

Just let them fight I could care less about ppv

I also thought Martinez had not looked good in his recent fights prior to Chavez and that’s why I said, before the fight, that Martinez would look to stay outside and away from Chavez’s power. That’s pretty much what happened throughout the fight. Still Sergio beat Jr. up. Although he didn’t take his head off like he promised. Oh well, I didn’t want to see that much blood anyway.

MNboxingFAN – Sean

Who is the last “Mandatory” that Mayweather actually fought? Anyone? Anyone? I’d be ready to hear Mayweather laugh this fight off…

Posted September 25, 2012 7:49 am

If Mayweather were to have all the fights the boxing fans have been clamouring for, I’mm sure he would have had like 3000 fights under his belt

Posted September 25, 2012 4:03 am

Hey, you are a real boxing fan. I have watched the fight between pacman and bradley many times and I believe Bradley beat Pacman well enough to get the decision. I don’t even think Pacman or Roach really wants to have anything to do with Bradley again. For the fact that Pacman did not ask for a rematch says it all, he knows he got a beatdown and will be beaten again. I like Pacman as a boxer, but the truth be told, he might do well against Floyd Mayweather because he sees the fight as a do or die affair and he really wants to damage the 0 in Floyd’s resume but pacman will be shocked how skillful mayweather is in the 1st 2 rounds. PPV WORTHY OR NOT…. LET THE RIGHT THING BE DONE, PACMAN SHOULD CLEAR HIS NAME WITH BRADLEY FIRST B4 FIGHTING ANYONE ELSE

I like or should i say liked/respected guerrero. No way i wanna see guerrero/floyd anytime soon.Floyd-Martinez,cotto,& maybe canelo are acceptable nobody else is ppv worthy. We all know pac-floyd aint happening so moving on,People are screaming Floyd-martinez now make it happen guerrero can wait if ever.

“Mayweather defeated the Gatti’s, De La Hoya’s, Judah’s, Castillo’s, Corrales, Manfredys, Hattons, Mosleys, Cotto’s, Marquez’s, and Ortiz’s of his day” Well, there was only one of each so I don’t know what’s up with the plurals. Unless of course you think that writing that way makes you seem intelligent. And btw, all roads don’t lead to Mayweather. BTW, turn your face away. Floyd’s about to cum.

Martinez is not fighting the best. I wish folks would stop saying that. The only top fighter at 160 he fought was Macklin. And he looked terrible in that KO win, heck he has looked terrible his past 3 fights with the exception of his last fight against Chavez and he almost got KO’d in that fight. He has yet to face the best in his division

Posted September 24, 2012 11:42 pm

Typical WBC BS. Serve up another green champion who has just won a belt in a weight class he has only fought once. Perfect for Mayweather. How convenient for him.

Posted September 24, 2012 11:41 pm

Guerrero is not deserving of the lame title he has now which is not even a real one. How he is more deserving of Lopez is confusing to me. Guerrero needs to fight a named fighter at 147. Heck he can now set up the match with Maidana and if he wins that then I will say he is deserving but Maidana would KO Guerrero.

Posted September 24, 2012 11:35 pm

Let’s see how many PPV’s this sells. 2 girls going at it…hmmm…just might sell out!

Guerrero is more deserving than Berto, Ortiz, and Lopez. But Canelo is more deserving than Guerrero. The only problem is, what weight should Mayweather be fighting at? I’d say 147. Which probably means, the Guerrero fight is the fight that’ll take place.

Clown face

There are only 3 guys out there for Floyd. Martinez,Canelo,Pac. This guy can probly beat Canelo or PAC but Martinez is a bit much for Floyd. He retired the first time to avoid PAC, and now this cat is a little older so he claims he will fight him. This trash is soo old. When Floyd retires we can celebrate because all the exuses will go with him. What all people want is a people’s champ that fights everybody and don’t make exuses not to. I seem to have described Oscar, Bernard and Martinez. Those guys actually wanted the challenge to fight the best and until Floyd does, he’ll never be remembered like these 3 will. He is not 1pfp. Martinez is, Floyd is a semi retired part time boxer that will probly retire if hbo makes him fight Martinez.

Robert Guerrero, is worthy of fighting Mayweather. Last time I checked he holds a strap at 147. Too bad, he’s not good enough to beat Mayweather. However, this is a good tune up fight for Mayweather.

Ruslan Pateev

This would be a mismatch .Fans will not be impatiently sitting on the edge of their seats anticipating this fight.

Just Facts

I find it amusing that people would dare mention Guerrero’s name with Mayweathers. What has Guerrero done to deserve to be a champ in a weight class where Tim Bradley is a champ as well ? Lets be honest people Tim Bradley(whether we liked the judges or not) beat Pac Man. Guerrero needs to Fight Tim Bradley!!! The only reason Guerrero is calling Mayweather out is because he wants to get whooped and a check for his troubles. Be honest with yourselves people. Mayweather has no immediate heir to the welterwight throne. All roads lead to Mayweather, but nobody wants the hard road. Mayweather defeated the Gatti’s, De La Hoya’s, Judah’s, Castillo’s, Corrales, Manfredys, Hattons, Mosleys, Cotto’s, Marquez’s, and Ortiz’s of his day. And did it with only one catch weight fight and barely lost a round in 17 years!!! Now he sits at the top alone and 35 years old because his talents make him unique. Its actually comical to think that anyone of these fighters would present a challenge to Mayweather!!! Berto, Guerrero, Canelo have done nothing to be mentioned in the same sentence as Mayweather. The only thing they have in common is they box. Berto needs to redeem himself against Ortiz before his name is even spoken(just facts). Guerrero needs to fight Bradley or Marcos Maidana and thats that. He has not beaten a truly tested welterweight(just facts). Khan has a better resume than Guerrero and we saw how he got done(Danny Garcia). And Canelo needs to face Cotto. Canelo fights at 154lbs and so does Cotto. Mayweather beat Cotto. So its only fair that Canelo has to get in there with a beast before he can box the champ. Simple as that. Everybody wins one fight against someone who Mayweather would toy with and calls out Floyd. They dont deserve a shot at the throne. Pac Man did, but he chooses to fight a 39 year old Marquez above Marquez’s natural weight instead of getting the belt that Bradley took from him.

The Kingslayer

lol and this is why boxing titles today are a laughing stock. There is about three legit champs in the entire sport and that’s Wlad, Martinez and Ward.

Posted September 24, 2012 9:20 pm

Mayweather is not apart of TMT promotions. So how did you come to that conclusion?

Posted September 24, 2012 8:36 pm

Sorry but WBC does not rule. I go by the Ring Belt. That marks who the real champ is. Not the WBC (We Be Crooks) orginization

Alvarez vs. Floyd would be like Norris vs. Leonard.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:17 pm

Exactly what I said he does not deserve a shot. He has never cleaned out a division, never fought the best of a division, never rescheduled to fight Maidana in which Maidana would of won by KO. He has constantly taken out the weaker of a division. He has only won titles. No he does not deserve a shot. I could care less what the WBC says about a mandatory, he has never earned the shot. You can’t jump up 2 weight classes and beat someone who was not that good to begin with and say you earned a shot.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:13 pm

Floyd would have little to no trouble with the ghost.a fight that i would have no interest in seeing.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:12 pm

Marquez is more dangerous to Paquiao then Floyd is. Canelo is to young and strong for Floyd.the Paquiao Marquez fight could go either way, just like the first 3 bouts in my opinion. Floyd has slipped enough to the point where Alvarez could probably take him right now.Floyd will never fight Canelo though! Paquiao has also slipped somewhat,so i believe at this point Alvarez would be much more dangerous to Floyd then Paquiao would be. only my opinions.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:11 pm

Mayweather Jr. vs. Guerrero will not be a competitive fight.Little Floyd dominates that matchup. The public will see a more competitive fight and brawl between two people waiting in a crowded and testy long line to buy the new iPhone5 than this matchup.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:08 pm

Why boxers at Floyd’s level don’t just drop those titles is beyond me. Everyone knows who Mayweather is because of what he’s done in (and out of) the ring. We don’t need belts or sanctioning bodies to tell us who the best fighters are nor who that champions are.

I also hate madatories. In theory mandatories are a nice idea but all they really do 98% of the time is put unimpressive and completely outmatched opponents in front of guys like Floyd. I would however be in favor of mandatory “the best must fight the best” fights. No BS, just force the matches we all want to see to happen. :)

This all said, I think Floyd will take the Gurerro fight. It’s a fight Floyd and his team know there is little risk in and he can justify it by saying something like “Robert’s done this and beaten this guy, and done this too.” People will buy the fight simply because it’s a Mayweather fight it really doesn’t matter who he gets in the ring with.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:08 pm

of course floyd will fight the ghost. he isnt a threat whatsoever. thats what floyd does.

Posted September 24, 2012 6:06 pm

gman- if boxing was just based on hit and don’t be hit then we would never have seen any good fights. boxing is the sweet science and a beautiful craft but at an elite level, guys are eventually gonna hit you. happens to everyone (roy, lenard, pep, hamed) gratned everyone just mentioned fought the best of the best in their primes and i mean hof fighting hof in thier prime, not like waitin for cotto, or beatin baldomir, or old oscar. floyd is a great boxer no question, but if we just talkin about hit and dont be hit, give me pernell 7 days a week. ps pryer, duran, lenard all would have beaten pretty boy and he would have ducked em all and no i’m not a pacman fan bhop, barerra are my dogs now the jackel, ggg, pwilly, moreno and arce

Floyd “Jailboy” Maynever possibly will take the fight. Not risky opponent to his zero reccord. Hey Peej Guererro is the mandatory challenger, what do you mean he(Guererro) doesn’t deserve a shot?

Posted September 24, 2012 3:18 pm

Agreed! Canelo would be a good “money” fight, but Canelo is probably 2 years away from even being ready for someone like Floyd.

Posted September 24, 2012 3:17 pm

The Ghost won’t get that shot, he’ll fight for it once it’s vacated. Floyd makes too much moula! And….”the BEAST”?? Against Floyd, Canelo will be “the LEAST”….no way will he fair well against Floyd, he’s a puppy!

Posted September 24, 2012 3:16 pm

Guerrero wasn’t even that impressive in his own backyard vs Aydin. Now Floyd is at LEAST 10 times as GOOD as Aydin. It would be a shut out for Floyd. A wasted bout for Floyd. It does nothing to enhance his legacy which is the only thing that’s he’s worried about at this point….other than money of course.

Posted September 24, 2012 3:15 pm

This would be great for boxing…Hero(the ghost) vs Zero(moneymay) …The ghost deserves a shot and Mayweather …as he always does(hand picks his fighters)..will win by TKO in the later rounds.. TOO fast ..TOO strong…TOO skilled….atleast the ghost will get a huge payday… This will then leas to Money vs the BEAST(EL CANELO)..just sayin’

Posted September 24, 2012 2:52 pm

He is no threat to Mayweather and definitely doesn’t deserve a shot

Posted September 24, 2012 2:47 pm

Jr isn’t into title defenses much less mandatory defenses. Jr has made one title defense in the last 8 or so years(Hatton). Guerrero was just talking about a fight w/ Broner (a LW?). I doubt either will happen this year.

Doesn’t matter….Floyd can pick and choose whoever he wants! They’ll allow him to fight anyone he wants, because his sanctioning fees are fat!! They’ll probably give Robert an “interim title fight” until Floyd decides to relinquishes or retires.
