Kessler will pound this guy out in less before the fight reaches the midway point.

Froch is not often heard talking about a Ward rematch. He wants Kessler with good reason – he thinks he won and fancies he could get a clear win on home ground but Ward is another matter. He was beaten in every department but Kessler is a much more even affair. I don’t doubt Froch would fight Ward again if it was put to him but he doesn’t have the belief/enthusiasm for it the way he does for Kessler.

C’mon guys. Stop with the Calzaghe ducked Froch stuff, Seriously! Froch was green behind the ears and fighting bums when Calzaghe was fighting and beating legends. Froch is at the midway point of his career and has already lost twice (once to Kessler, guy that Calzaghe beat).

I like Froch, but the Bute fight hype, telling a story of future easy Froch wins, over dangerous opponents is getting old now. I agree with one thing though. Froch would take Ward out in Nottingham. Take the weird and easy Bute fight out, and you have good old Carl. Take any opportunity of Froch putting Kessler on the floor and keeping him there out too. Now you have a Froch that will have to outpoint a faster, stronger granite chin opponent, lets say Lucien Butes clever big big brother. For me, Kessler is 60/40 favourite, in Froch vs Kessler 2. Let Froch get past Bute, in Canada first.

Froch definitely wants Ward again… I don’t think he’ll be successful on the scorecards wherever they fight, but if he could lure Ward to Nottingham with a huge $$$$$$$ offer he’d take the fight in a heartbeat.. I think Ward would do it if the money was right and neutral officiating was negotiated.. Ward wants to get some exposure in Europe where Boxing is bigger than it ever was.

Decent match-up but was hoping Kessler would get it on with Abraham. I don’t see Magee giving him too many problems – he doesn’t have the best chin and Kessler can still bang when he lands. But as has already been said, they’re all fighting for Ward’s scraps. He’s head and shoulders above the rest of the SMW’s and those that have fought him I don’t think want any part of him again. I don’t know who Ward fights in the future but in the meantime Kessler vs Magee can entertain us!!

Froch had nagging injuries when he fought Kessler.. When he had a little back twinge training for Abraham he postponed the fight for 2 months rather than take another chance that would put him out of the Super Six.. I still had Froch winning the Kessler fight by landing the better and harder punches in most rounds.. Kessler got points for flailing and landing stuff that for the most part had little effect.. I see Froch as an easy winner if they fight outside of Denmark.

Teddy…. You’re right. Calzaghe should have fought Froch instead of cherry-picking somebody like Manfredo. Calzaghe-Forch was a super big money grudge fight, even at that time — and JC defended against guys with fewer fights than Froch had at that time.

Regarding the Kessler vs Magee fight. Magee is a fighter that goes forward all night long, and is technically sound, good bodywork, but —
If Kessler is Lucien Bute, but two classes above, and Bute beat Magee, eventhough it took some work and skill, I see a Kessler Ko victory, within 4 rounds, to the chin or body. Magee is underrated, and gave Froch a good fight, but Kessler will give Magee the beating of his life, as he did in 2007, when Kessler had Magee as a sparring partner, according to former Kessler trainer, Richard Olsen. Nice to see Kessler fighting again.

I am danish and clearly a Kessler fan, would be anyways. Just one thing -the Froch vs Kessler 2 fight is a done deal, now, it would be crazy for either Carl or Mikkel to use their fight as a warm up fight, since the loser of this fight, will be looked upon differently, by the money people. Kessler is then going to meet the winner of Ward vs Dawson, this means Ward in the US. Kessler has 3 done deals, according to Sauerland. The Magee fight takes place in December. Eventhough I am a Kessler fan, I clearly see Frochs resume as better than Kesslers, but if anybody thinks that Mikkel is finished and easy meat, for Froch in Nottingham, they are fooling themselves. Disregard the weird and easy Bute fight, and you have the real Froch. Froch vs Kessler can go in any direction you can think of.

waste of time for Kessler!

Kessler has only taken tune ups after long injuries

But Magee is not an easy on like: Calzaghe vs Mandredo jr

Ward head butt the hell out of

Ward is the Champ and everyone else is just a titlest if they happen to have some type of belt

 Sorry to be negative but all these so called World title’s are exactlly what’s killing our sport :!: Magee vs Kessler would make a fantastic European title fight, but in all truth, who’s fooling who :?: Andre Ward is the #1 in the World @ 168Lb & everyone knows it. All this WBA super/regular/interim malarky is fooling no one. There’s enough unfinished action in the UK that needs sorting out before worthless dreamboat World titles are contested for. George Groves has been stripped of his British S/M title by the BBBofC for not defending in the last 9 months. However British middleweight champion Martin Murray’s not defended in nearly a year, yet still holds the crown. Matthew Macklin, Darren Barker, B.J.Saunders, Kerry Hope & Martin murray should be forced to fight an elimination series to find out who’s #1 in the UK before looking for Micky Mouse alphabet titles :!:

This will be an easy win for Kessler

Posted September 17, 2012 6:04 pm

This fight/headline is not deserving of an exclamation mark. Also, bear in mind that this is the WBA strap we’re talking about; by the time the fight takes place there will be an interim champ and a super champ out there somewhere too

The Kingslayer

I would much rather have Froch vs. Kessler II and Mack vs. Magee but hey that’s politics for you.

Nice pay day for Magee and he deserves it.

Agreed, Kessler had froch’s number. Imo he beat Froch better than Ward did as he fought Froch at his own game and still beat him.

Posted September 17, 2012 2:26 pm

I don’t care who Kessler fights in Denmark — he’s not going to beat Froch in Nottingham or anywhere else outside of Denmark.. I’d like to see Mikkel fight Ward again. Ward had only 20 fights and wasn’t a finished product in their 1st fight, so Kessler would receive a more comprehensive trouncing this time.

Last time i looked 3 of those wins didn’t take place at 168.

Listen big fan of Kessler and agree with you that Kessler doesn’t take the easy way out……but your statement of him taking more 0’s away than any other active Smw is simply not true…..Atleast Froch has taken more 0’s than Kessler and since i’m not about to check every other boxer….your statement is false.

One for the Danes !!
But i doubt his international fans will clap their hands.

In terms of opposition this is neither a step up or a step down, but status quo.
Still nice to see Kessler fighting twice a year….
