I’m for the underdog on this one. I just have a feeling. Mayweather is to full of himself and confidnent and that could hurt him. Althought this is his last fight and it would be good for him to go out with a win, I still stand firm on my choice.
Good Luck to both these gr8 boxers.
God speed.

Canelo isn’t a DUMMY. He’s actually a Boxing genious HIMSELF….Floyd even notices moves that he’s tried to pick UP from HIM. The TRUE geniouses always study the BEST, implement what made them effective, and then try to IMPROVE upon that. That’s where Canelo is going to fall SHORT. Trying to IMPROVE upon that. His SKILLS and MIND might get there but he will never equal the hand and foot speed of Mayweather….He does surpass Floyd in combination punching at THIS stage. Floyd will easily nullify that though by escaping OFF the ropes and OUT of the corners. Throwing combinations when there’s nothing there to HIT isn’t WISE. That CAN and WILL get you punished to the FACE when you’re facing the GOAT when he’s totally dialed IN. HE may let you get away with it a FEW times but believe me he will start to time you and make you PAY. That’s why most Boxers stop trying to attack SO much late in the Fight. They’d rather not take the punishment.

The BOO birds may be out but that doesn’t make the CHECK bounce SO all that booing is irrelevant.

I don’t know what Floyd YOU’VE been watching but beating Juan Manuel Marquez WHO is the 2nd BEST Fighter in THIS era 12 rounds to NONE is called stamping the Victory from the 1st round ON. TATOOING Victor Ortiz from the start till the finish is called stamping the Victory from the 1st round TOO….When Floyd is really dialed IN his SKILL level and Boxing IQ can’t be matched….Like he SAID he can make the BEST Fighters in the World LOOK like they’re playing Checkers in a CHESS game….Juan Manuel Marquez has one of the Highest Boxing IQ’s in the Sport of Boxing NOW and of ALL times…..He couldn’t touch Floyd with a TEN foot POLE….His SKILL level is that unbelievable when he CALLS up on it. Mosley found that out QUICK… Floyd beat the SKILLS out of Mosley. He came IN at #3 P4P and left #0 P4P never to return to the P4P list…..Canelo could probably catch Floyd coming OFF a long layoff but only 3 months in between Fights he’ll be TOO SHARP….HE won’t get the knockout because his hand won’t have to time to heal from the last Fight but he can always Pot Shot his way to Victory while limiting the Damage to his OWN hands. Thats what MUCH SKILLS can DO for you. It gives you MULTIPLE options of VICTORY.

Oscar is still putting on the best fights in boxing which resembles his career of just going all out and picking the best out there. He wanted fighters to be at their best if they could be and just didn’t care. It was about making the best fight possible. But when it comes to promoting Floyd and his fights, there is just something about Floyd that gets under his skin and it makes Oscar look bitter.

I actually don’t have a problem with Oscar saying the fight was close because he did give the impression it was a close fight by simply applying pressure. If those punches were actually landing for POINTS and not just making contact, that’s something else…but the illusion of him winning is enough for him to have fire-power against Floyd and I would probably feel the same way. You expect Floyd to have fought better but he didn’t.

That’s the one thing about Floyd at 147+: He started to do enough to win instead of stamping his victory from the first round like he did below 147.

One more item GOLD
You are spot on about Oscar. He is now a bitter man that needs to remove his ego from business. He is almost as annoying as Floyd outside the ring but at least Floyd still backs his S..HIT UP BRO

We are on the same page bro. There can only be one Ric Flair….WOOOOOAH or Million dollar man Ted…LOL

I can’t stand the Money May character either. I liked when he was Pretty Boy Floyd but he wasn’t making the money back then as he started to do when he took on that darker character role.

How much did nice guy Shane make? Not much compared to the hated Money May character.

Floyd said it himself and I”m paraphrasing: you already have nice guys in boxing, you need an enemy and if I have to be that guy, I will.

He didn’t invent the character either. Just like Ali took from a wrestler, Floyd to from the Million dollar Man.

But it’s not an admirable character for the kiddies.

I liked Floyd for his skills since his 130 days so it may have been easier for me to not pay attention to what he later did to draw more attention to himself to make more money.

Oscar is now very annoying as a Promoter.

It’s also interesting that Wlad holds a Doctorate, is honorable inside and outside the ring and yet he is barely known in the USA. Now does that have to do with style or the role he plays? I think more so style and allure of the role he plays but maybe it’s both. I don’t know. I think if we had a killer with a smile, like Adrian Peterson is in the NFL, the HW Champ would be more popular. It’s all about the KO just like it’s all about the long-ball in baseball.

I always purchase boxing PPV and only stating that the Garcia fight is getting more buzz than Flyod.

I love to watch Floyd box but his character outside can be annoying

That’s all fraud gots! Sucker punch…chuck and jive crap all nite long and running. 12 Rd disappointing results match. Note I didn’t say fight cause fraud don’t come to fight…he runs and pitter patters all nite to win the rds and a boring decision

I personally think his media character is a complete cretin but between those ropes he’s a genius and a true master of boxing in so many ways, he’s like a puzzle that hasn’t got a answer,a lock without a key,but I don’t know him personally and maybe if I did then I would think he’s a nice guy, I don’t like all the parasites that cling on to him, probably 90% are there for the money.

I sometimes wonder why people like certain fighters. Is it the skill level of the fighter or is it the prestige of celebrity the fighter has?
example: Do you like Floyd inside the ring for his skills or for his “Money May” Money and Flash character?

Personally, I think MONEY MAY is a disgrace even if that brings in the Gold Bricks. But Floyd Mayweather the fighter is respectable for what he does a trained athlete/fighter.

You will still be able to purchase the PPV even if they don’t come to an agreement

Posted August 31, 2013 4:37 pm

I think a lot of the low numbers have to do with the fact that Showtime/CBS and Time Warner cable have this contractual dispute. They can’t come together and negotiate a deal. I haven’t been able to see Showtime for over a month now. I haven’t been able to see Ray Donovan, Dexter, or any of the all access for this fight and I live in the number 2 market in the country. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS BAD BUSINESS!!!

How was Hatton way to small when Hatotn was a natural JrWW while FLoyd started lower and tends to hover around the actual division weight on fight-night?

Please explain that brilliant logic of yours.

Now myself, a fan of boxing, am looking forward to the danny garcia vs lucas matthysse bout and have tried to encourage others I know that will watch the fight because of the main event to pay attention to that fight instead of just waiting for Floyd-Canelo to fight.

Posted August 31, 2013 4:22 pm

The fight is not carried by the undercard. The Casual viewer which makes up the majority of the big buys aren’t buying it because of danny garcia vs lucas matthysse.

You do realize that, right? It’s the CASUAL viewer that brings in the big money and not the fight fan who is a given for a sure PPV buy or ticket sold.

That’s why the Mega Stars like Ali, SRL, Tyson, and Oscar separated themselves from the pack. Or even Wlad in Germany. They know who they are but the rest, nope.

Just look at the numbers Floyd and Canelo draw and then look at the other two. That’s all you need to know why people are going to buy this fight.

Ever since I saw a photo of Floyd wearing a Sombrero, I’m having a difficult time taking this fight seriously. I keep thinking of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase in “Three Amigos!” and wondering who (Floyd or Saul) will be El Guapo.

The kid could speak 3 other languages for all I care and this would still be the same fight.
Floyd schools the young man. The PPV should reach close to 2 million but is carried by the UNDERCARD.
UD at the end of 12 for Floyd

Mayweather vs Canelo,,,,, who really cares and what does it state. Would be a good win for young Canelo who put out a good showing against a very tough opponent in his last fight which should had been a draw. Mayweather would get credit for finally fighting an undefeated strong prospect who most likely will be somebody later down the road. Hatton and Coralles were the only two undefeated fighters Mayweather ever faced in his entire career and a far cry from having to face the likes of undefeated fighters like sugar ray or hitman. Coralles was a noteable win but Hatton was way to small. Outside that, its been fruit piciking since.
