That’s a hellava painting. I dont care what anybody say’s that’s a work of art. Ive never met him but heard good things as he’s a long time boxing guy from Kronk Gym, and we have mutual friends. I think it’s awesome and give us fans something to look forward to. Well played Sloane.

wow… they already have a painting… which is pretty accurate… Canelo missing the shot, Floyd Potshotting Canelo.

i like sloane’s’s leroy neaman with clarity.nicely proportioned(traced),and we can all say we could do better, but we didn’t.being a graduate of art school,it’s nice work and i met him @ mosely vs. margarito,he’s o.k. for a smug tw*t.more power to him.i hope this match turns into a fight and becomes a war.i don’t care who wins.i don’t like either one of ’em.i do however like the danny garcia-mathysse match.

Looks like Gatti? Woah…have you ever seen Gatti? This is no doubt Alvarez in his orange glory. VIVA MEXICO!!!

They can’t kill the ‘fro bro. I came back just to check out this boxing related art. It’s actually fantastic, but could use a few clouds and happy trees. Looks like the ginger haired fellow is going all out and he’s got a mini ‘fro. So Im with him.

Glad to see you’re once again among the living Bob! Congrats…

Im not an art expert but this looks great to me. I think Canelo has clipped Mayweathers ribs and we see the follow through? and obviously coming back with a left that already looks in motion (see elbow). This is awesome and shows how the big fights can inspire people. Well done to the artist. To me Canelo looks like he has momentum, Floyd looks still, like he’s about to get nailed.. the left looks more like a paw away to get distance that punch from my view. Anyone else see that?

John The Beast

Nice! I want this poster.

Absolutely awesome! This is art, not a photograph. Sloan nails it! Canelo looks like he’s bringing the action, Mayweather the angles. This is an amazing drawing. Nice touch with the flags too.

It’s Me, Ernie

Yeah it does resemble that time Gatti added 20 pounds of muscle, bleached his skin white and died his hair red, nice catch…

The painting sucks.

Posted August 22, 2013 9:58 am

I could have sworn that it was Arturo Gatti, not Canelo on that drawing :).

Not a great painting. Another piece of mismatched tracing from the very over-rated Sloane.

It’s Me, Ernie

There’s a lot more to that painting than initially meets the eye. Saul’s right glove seems to be blocking Money’s view of a possible left hand heading his way, ouch!…

I think the painting is FRIGGIN’ AWESOME in every way! Plus it shows what will be the obvious outcome of the fight- Canelo losing! I really like how it shows Mayweather NAILING Canelo! However, it won’t be a “superfight,” but rather, a technical mismatch with Mayweather horribly embarrassing Canelo. I predict Mayweather will win by a late stoppage OR lopsided UD.

But hey, if Slone wants to give me that painting, I’ll take it. :)

Posted August 21, 2013 10:14 pm

“It’s a well painted piece—” Sort of, Tark. Canelo is much bigger than he appears in that painting. Also from the artist’s perspective, i.e. the viewer’s perspective, Floyd should actually be a little smaller–he’s further away from the eye than Canelo. WAIT A MINUTE!!! Floyd’s head looks really big in that painting. Is he taking PEDS? OMG!

Posted August 21, 2013 10:12 pm

Sorry, but that looks like a short Lou Gossett Jr. and Howdy Doody with muscles in that painting. Besides, that painting is based on fiction. I say wait until the fight happens, then paint what you see. Not what you don’t.

Ref says.… are out!! Floyd, you are out, Floyd, Floyd you okay, wake up Floyd wake up…oh God…Doctor Doctor get in here.

Pratt the Barbarian

In the picture, Canelo just landed the uppercut and there is no power on the left hook, and guess what is coming next….a Canelo left hand to KO Floyd a Lloyd,. Floyd is off balance and Canelo has a power shot coming with all his weight and power. Down goes Floyd….Down goes Floyd….Down goes Floyd !!!!

TARK… ‘Top HW of 21 years ago’…theres a desperately post.

Posted August 21, 2013 6:28 pm

I agree with you…

It’s a well painted piece—but a major commissioned piece of art, created to depict the richest fight of all-time, should be dead neutral… The artist shouldn’t show Mayweather connecting with a left to the temple while Canelo throws a right uppercut from outside that misses badly.

That would be good to commemorate a great fight that has already happened—but for a fight the public is anticipating, you should show both fighters launching, both fighters missing, both landing, or the combatants circling each other looking for an opening.

In the picture, Canelo is missing an uppercut while Floyd is landing a left hook. Apparently the artist knows how this fight will play out! :D
