“te tumbo – i’m giving Guerrero 4-1 odds that he defeats Mayweather” Those were the same odds you gave for Fernando LardAss to KO the great Mexecutioner Tito Trinidad…. How’d that work out for your Chihuahua hero?????

Funny, Floyd has only had difficulties from bigger fighters. Though I think it’s funny they Floyd won almost every round and yet people say he is losing a step because his nose got bloodied. Cotto landed more punches in less rounds on Pac than he did on Floyd in 12 NAND everybody compliments Pac on the win and says Floyd is losing a step.

te tumbo

i’m giving Guerrero 4-1 odds that he defeats Mayweather. primarily based on the possibility that Floyd shows increased signs of aging, which he already has with his increasingly stationary style. i mean, if an undersized, ringworn, permanently Margarito-damaged, and glorified gatekeeper like Cotto can give Floyd a “tough fight”, Guerrero will be tougher. however, Floyd’s reflexes will have to deteriorate for Guerrero to even have a 25% chance of defeating him by consistently landing and avoiding punches. otherwise, i anticipate that Mayweather will execute like he always does. with poise, focus, and startling punching, counterpunching, and grappling skills.

What I see is that Guerrero is going to be mentally and physically 200% prepared because this is the most important night of his life… He’s not an idiot like Victor Ortiz who said he was better prepared for Berto. BERTO??? Why wouldn’t you be 100 or 200% better prepared for Floyd? Not as important a fight? This is like the 7th game of the NBA championships. It’s the 4th quarter and there’s one second left on the clock. Your team is behind 109-111 and 2 opponents are guarding you 4 feet beyond the 3 point line. They’re very determined not to foul you in this situation. Victor Ortiz tries to pass the ball off to another player as the buzzer goes off.. Robert Guerrero elevates as high as he possibly can and fires a high arching shot that just misses the outstretched fingers of the defenders. He gets the shot off one tenth of a second before the buzzer goes off. As the shot heads towards the basket there is dead silence in the arena. After what seems to be an eternity the ball hits the back of the rim and bounces straight up in the air. After bounding twelve feet in the air the ball falls back towards the basket. The ball hits the rim again and falls to the floor as the opposing team and the crowd leap into the air with a mighty shout of joy. Obviously neither man could make the NBA, but the idea is Guerrero would give himself and his team a chance to win. Ortiz would be crushed by the pressure and flake out. The difference between a winner and a loser.

Brick – Mayweather had a bloody nose vs Cotto and said he was hurt by Cottos shots.. nothing to wobble him but he felt those shots and said he needs to correct that because his Dad said “You are getting hit too much” Which I happen to agree with.. that lay on the Ropes, turned sideways as your opponents take shots at you will work with C level opponents but against hard hitters like Cotto it’s not working.. both Floyd and his Dad agree so they’re going back to making sure Mayweather Boxes and doesn’t just lay there at times taking needless shots…

Posted April 30, 2013 11:27 am

Public Enemy, i dont know that Money was ever hurt, but he did say Cotto gave him a tough fight though.

Posted April 30, 2013 11:12 am

Farmboxer, stop with the racial slurs, i bet you wish you had that evil n**gers money. God has nothing to do with this fight and im pretty sure he wont be sitting at ringside. lol

Cotto did show how to beat or atleast give Floyd a tough fight.. When Cotto fought like the Old Cotto, close, throwing hard hooks and stiff Jabs he hurt and backed up floyd.. Floyd himself acknowledged this.. when he chose to Box with Mayweather which was his Cuban Trainers plan Floyd easily beat Cotto to the punch.. As long as Gurerrero doesn’t try to out Box Floyd he will have a chance, if he learns from Cotto and doesn’t make the mistake Cotto made trying to Outbox floyd he may pull an upset.. Floyds turn your back style and lay on the Ropes doesn’t work well with strong good Boxers who have very strong hooks like Cotto.. that’s why he’s training with his Dad again because he knows he has to correct this for these type of fighters… It will be interesting..

@ hecdog -Well articulated mr hecdog but i must respectfully disagree somewhat. Floyd will lose and be humbled. But Guerrero doesnt have the skills and power to do so. But i just may happen real soon though

Posted April 30, 2013 10:03 am

Don’t get me wrong, God loves all of us including Floyd Mayweather, and he doesn’t pick sides, but he does allow things to happen sometimes in order to humble and rebuild us. He’s not interested in a boxing match, but rather the the impact that a person he has blessed leaves on millions of His children. In this case, Floyd Mayweather will be humbled because of what he continues to preach, MONEY! He’s one of the worst role models in the history of sports. He has enormous talent, and has attained so much more than most of us will ever have, and he then sits there and brags about his MONEY and materials while humiliating and degrading his own father. His 24/7 and All Access show his true colors, and his main focus is his ego and money. He goes to jail for threatening his kids and mother of his children. Floyd has done it wrong from the beginning. Spend some time addressing and uplifting the children of our future. You have a voice that can be heard throughout the world for the good, and instead you’re too full of yourself to think of anyone else. The speed, reflexes, power, athleticism and all the materials Floyd was blessed with will amount to nothing in the end. What profits a man if he gains the whole world but losses his sole? This will be a great fight, but in the end, having lost for the first time, Floyd Mayweather will be a better man. Robert Guerrero is here for a reason, and he will defeat Floyd “Money” Mayweather on May 4th, and this world will be a lightly better place with a true role model to the millions of people that watch sports. We all get humbled at sometime in our lives, and that makes us look at things differently, and we prioritize what’s important. Hopefully Floyd will do the same.

Posted April 30, 2013 9:57 am

For the last time God isnt picking a favorite nor does he care who wins! He just want the glory he is due and deserves! The better fighter that night will win. Which i beleive is mayweather. Both fighters are God fearing men. Both had and have legal issues and make mistakes. We are all human striving to be God like!

Posted April 30, 2013 4:55 am

One thing Robert didn’t talk about… What happens when Floyd jabs him in the face and follows with a right hand and left hook before he knows what hit him? Is he just going to bull forward and start head knocking, shouldering, elbowing, and holding and hitting, like Floyd is Andre Berto? What happens when the referee starts calling fouls that weren’t called in the Berto fight? What’s his plan for when he gets 5 rounds behind?

OK… I see… Get ahold of that paycheck, put those millions into good investments, build a boxing gym and training camp your relatives can run … and plan your next hunting trip to Africa. Get those firearms ready. OK, and you have to take care of that court date and illegal firearms charge. That will be a small fine and no jail time. Not a bad deal. You can retire at 30.

hecdog, this is boxing not bible class. If there is a God, and he loves us all, why would he empower one of his children to harm another? Spome religious people got it all twisted. Too many people still dying in the name of the lord.

I picked Rigondeaux over Donaire based on skillset and experience. In Rigo’s case, not Pro experience but fight experience. I got to go with Floyd for exactly the same reasons. Guerrero, not so long ago, was being called a mismatch and now people are saying he stands a chance? Look for the ”He came up two weight classes” BS. Robert fough Aydin, a decent fighter but not world class and before that Katsidis and a 100 year old Casamayor, and went the distance with the same Escobedo that Broner just beat up on. Yeah he beat Berto and looked good doing it, dirty but he did a number on a bigger supposedly better guy. But Floyd ain’t Berto. After this fight, maybe Broner can whop on Guerrero?

Mayweather will beat Guerrero silly. After that he will slip into oblivion.

Posted April 30, 2013 3:31 am

hecdog – I couldn’t read all of that disparate. Rigo Vs. DOnaire, wasn’t an upset that nobody saw coming, lol…. and there are always upsets…. Guerrero and all these blasphemous events aren’t going to beat Sr. FMJ …even if he’s old as dirt and declined all around. He still has good pop.

Hecdog, Buster Douglas “left it in God’s hands, and look at what happened”? Oh dear. So when someone scores an upset it’s all down to God, and when a favourite wins that too is down to God? Wonderful reasoning there, fella. I suspect you’ve been hit over the head with too many bibles. All in God’s hands, of course.

Hard for Manny to be number 1 when he has 2 losses in his last 2 fights and one being a KO

Posted April 30, 2013 12:56 am

Guerrero is no longer moving up 2 weight classes. He is a welter now. They have said it and in 2 fights he has showed it. That’s like them saying Martinez is not a middleweight. Well he can’t make 153 and he walks around in the upper 170s and he is definitely heavier than 160 on fight night. Which means he is a full fledged middleweight

Check his Wraps, do some Blood testing and his weight.. because we know this Gun toting hypocrate will do anything to beat the Great Floyd Mayweather…

Posted April 29, 2013 9:35 pm

Floyd already said that Guerrero would be a good MMA fighter, so he’s well aware of this guy dirty tactics. I’m expecting his corner will warn the ref. about it, before & during the fight so Guerrero won’t be able to head-butt, hold with one hand while punching with the other & punching after the bell…still, it won’t surprise me a head-butt or two.

Posted April 29, 2013 8:51 pm

GUNrrero talks a lot about Mayweather “exalting” himself; the thing is, as Guerrero uses this borrowed period of time – to highlight how great he is to the public – he’s the one doing all the arrogant exalting in the name of “his take” on religion. Watch for him to try and take Mayweather out of his game by getting DIRTY!! Mayweather says he’s ready for all of that, but the interesting thing is – HOW is Mayweather going to go ‘tit for tat’ without hampering his skill set during the fight?!, HOW – without giving GUNdolero the upper hand with his two favorite crisp punches that he ALWAYS throws with excellence and superb endurance!?. How is the referee gonna respond with the grappling & attitudes?…. will he deduct points!? As I just mentioned, can Mayweather deal with the sort of ‘jab/hook’ with the ‘straight left’ that Guerrero loves to throw as crisp as a biscuit! He’s bigger than Mayweather but he likes to use the analogy of him being David against Goliath. As far as I’m concerned GUNrrero is Goliath with the DISRESPECT, SIZE come fight night, DIRTY TACTICS, and his FALSE emotional sense of security in his version of god – the god that doesnt mind him carrying around a piece in the name of peace! Half of boxing enthusiasts thinks Mayweather is soft, and a cherry picker…etc…they kick out dough$ just to see him take a loss every time!!. Guerrero SEES far worse with the ‘foregone conclusion’ concerning this fight. His DESPERATION is on KILTER mode for a win against Mayweather – this should be interesting, to say the least.

Posted April 29, 2013 6:54 pm

hecdog – After Rigo totally outboxed Donaire, I said I wouldn’t ever pick against you again LOL Why are you doing this to me?? I really want Robert to win, of course, but he isn’t bringing anything to the fight that Floyd hasn’t seen, the only thing I see going for Robert is that Floyd is older and doesn’t move as well, otherwise, he’s still very sharp and very fast.

Posted April 29, 2013 6:53 pm

as far as i remember Pacquiao was a HUGE religious man and all the morons here said he was invencible because of it, now we all know what happened to him, same fate for Guerrero whose only chance of winning is God coming and fight for him something that i think is very posible. Did anybody realized that when Pacquiao anihilated the remains of Hatton a guy came and signaled Pacquiao to go to corner and pray?? isnt it kindda fishy?? We all know Pacquiao is nothing but a manufactured character in everyway of hs boxing and personal life.

God doesnt care who wins or loses. He just want the glory that he deserves! Both fighters are God fearing men! Both fighters are human and make mistakes like all of us. But on fight night the best fight will win. Probably Mayweather by ud. Just hope for an exciting fight. Ill prob go to sports bar and watch it cause no way im paying 70.00. Floyd needs to make a major splash w his next opponent! I mean Canelo, Pacquio, somebody!

Hecdog, the 2000 year old magic zombie Jesus wont help Guerrero come Saturday night. He can have all the faith in the world but that isn’t going to stop Mayweather making him look like an amateur. Having said that, Mayweather is a religious man, so no doubt Jesus will get the victors credit regardless.

Posted April 29, 2013 5:55 pm

Guerrero will have all of the doubters banging their heads against a wall when he pulls of the victory. Boxing upsets happen when you least expect them. They’re just like meteorites falling out of the sky, you never know when and where they’re going to hit. You can be walking out of your house, and BAM! the rock hits you and you’re out. The victory that Robert Guerrero will pull off will lead people to believe in miracles. He’ moving up two weight classes, never been in a big fight, fighting the 2nd best fighter around (Manny Pacquiao #1), slow feet, bad defense and everything else going against him. And he’s going to win. All things are lined up, but Guerrero’s faith will be the deciding factor. A faith that will not allow him to take anything but a victory. Floyd will have that panic look in his eyes when he can’t figure out how to beat Guerrero. He’ll panic when his timing, defense and reflexes don’t respond as they did before. In the end, Floyd will be humbled by a man no respected, and no one thought could win. Trust me on this one.
