So tired of Mayweather’s act. Guerrero, please do us a favor and knock this guy out. We need something new.

Floyd by easy win.

“IF Floyd wore 8 oz gloves vs Cotto he would have gotten the stoppage WIN not a decision.” Maybe. Or maybe Mayweather’s nose would have been smashed on his face rather than just dripping blood. Cotto didn’t want 8 oz. gloves because he didn’t want to be cut up–he wasn’t worried about getting knocked out. It was a smart call by Cotto. But I guarantee you, if they had used 8 oz. gloves Floyd wouldn’t have been so generous with his right hand and he would have kept his distance more between him and Cotto.

Brickcity Berto has nothing to do with it it’s losing 5 rounds to a wash up Cotto that makes me wonder

I think ppl are looking at RG’s fight with Berto and saying he’s gonna beat or give Money a good fight, only thing is this is Mayweather we are talking about here, no comparison.

Heavyweight is completely different than the lower weight classes. That’s not even comparable

Posted April 18, 2013 2:33 am

Size disparity at heavyweight is a little different… It’s true that Chambers is really a cruiserweight, But guyys who are a natrual 225, they can’t really get down to cruiserweight without hurting themselves. They can match up wiith bigger, slower heavyweights in a way lightweights have a very rugged time with if they want to move to 154.

Exaxtly. Also Floyd doesn’t weigh in at 154 anyway. He weighs just a pound or two more than normal. Thats not a Big Difference. 10 oz gloves instead of 8 oz gloves is a Big Difference though. IF Floyd wore 8 oz gloves vs Cotto he would have gotten the stoppage WIN not a decision.

I dont buy the whole weight issue with regards to Floyd fighting legit jnr MW, I dont see anyone saying anything about Cunningham and Fury or when Chambers fought Wlad, I mean the size disparity looked ridicoulous, whats Floys giving up, 10 pounds, his skill level can easily compensate for that…

A year ago Mayweather didn’t do as well as I believed he would against Cotto… It’s not just age, but it’s a lifestyle and inactivity that takes it’s toll.. If Floyd gets a separation of 117-111 or less the Canelo team will move Heaven and Earth to be his next opponent at 154, if they get past Trout… Obviously, if Trout beats Canelo, they’ll be just as hot for Floyd’s tail… I believe Floyd slides past Guerrero with relative ease, but those young, powerful cats at 154 aren’t going to be as easy.

@Dan 316 – Agreed, same thing when he moved up to face DLH. 147 is his best weight. I feel like Guerrero is looking at the 150 lb Mayweather against Cotto thinking that’s the fighter he will get…a less mobile opponent. Also remember in his fight against Ortiz (again, less mobile), Ortiz came in at 160 on fight night and used his weight advantage up until the “ko”. Mayweather looked quick, but Ortiz’s style and size advantage took away some of his mobility. His skill sets can negate size and weight disadvantages, but only so far, which makes bouts with the likes of an Alvarez, Trout, or Martinez interesting.

Mike J.

Its the fact that hes fighting at his best weight now

At 154 he is sluggish, and not as effective (but still dam effective)

147 IMO opinion is the maximum weight he should fight at from now on.

In fact I think he might even do better dropping to 140, than he would fighting at 154.

Not sure if the looming jail sentence took its toll on Mayweather going into the Cotto fight last summer, but he looks more relaxed and faster in this camp. Guerrero is a tough day in the office for anyone because of his rough, pressure style, but he’s never faced anyone like Mayweather, even at this stage of Mayweather’s career.

Yeah just like most Mayweather fights to the average fan.

Tell us something we don’t know. $600 balcony seats well spent for a fight that is a foregone conclusion. Rip off.

Guerrero is a good fighter but Mayweather is a Great Boxer. Mayweather is going to box circles around this guy. He’s going to tear his ass up.
