philly shell

Good for him. Unlike Sturm, Geale will actually travel to make the unification bouts happen.

The irony of this fight is that Geale’s only loss was to Mundine, a hometown decision in his own country Australia a fight he clearly won. It is great to have a real Aussie champion again, the last one was Kostya.

You have no idea about boxing, Geale is now the man.

first saw Geale against Karmazin and could see he had talent. Hope he gets big fights now.

The Kingslayer

I saw this coming a mile away, Sturm has been on the decline and Geale fights well in Germany.

Yes he does,. However he also needs to get his career back on track. Defend or relinquish the British title & get a high ranking again. It’s not actually certain who’s #1 in the UK @ 160LB right now. It could be Murray, Darren Barker, Mathew Macklin or the constantly improving & Commonwealth champion Billy Joe Saunders.

After 2 ventures into Germany Geale & the Australian people deserve it. Also Geale has two belts IBF & so called WBA super, while Golovkin has the WBA ordanary belt. I bet Golovkin would relish fighting in Oz as well.

I reckon Sturm will call out Arthur Abraham @168LB.

Great job Geale wouldnt mind seeing him fight Macklin who also deserves a shot after the fight he had with Sturm.

Fight Scribe

And within the context of what Geale has done how is your question relevant. He has won two of the major belts on offer…is that his fault there are other meaningless belts out there

Why Australia? why not Vegas.

U Fool ..if they r that easy..u go and win a title U CHUMP..

Posted September 2, 2012 5:50 am

Great performance Geale…WBA should take a backseat and let Geale choose his 1st opp…instead of fighting golovik..There is plenty of options and Geale deserves to chhose his next opp..Murry Appleby you go and win a title u CHUMP…

Go aussie. I said on this website that dan would be to fast and outwork sturm. Big balls to get 2 world titles in germany. He,s the most humble gentleman australian boxing has seen in years and deserves everthing he,s got

Posted September 2, 2012 4:48 am

martin murray deserves a shot

Posted September 2, 2012 4:37 am

Where now though? The WBA have ordered Geale/Golovik, while the Australian public want Geale/Mundane II. Personally Geale vs Golovik in Australia makes most sence.

murray appleby

Good job geale…but seriously why dont we give a {WORLD} title to
every single boxer even the retired ones, theres enough of them

Posted September 2, 2012 4:22 am

har har har har. sorry, I did not stay up for the fight. Congrats to geale!

Tremendous result for Geale and quite unbelievable: I thought winning a close fight in Germany was impossible. Still I hope he doesn’t have to travel for the Golovkin’s, Martinenezes or Chavezes…give him a break please!

Posted September 2, 2012 1:22 am

I didn’t think he could do it but props to Geale for his feat.
I hope his defences are not against trashcans like Sam Soliman and goes for the bigger names such as the winner of Chavez v. Martinez

Matt from Sydney

This is a great result. I was one of the one’s that thought it was a bad idea to go back to Germany to take this fight. Thought it was way to risky. Have to give him all the credit in the world and the Grange team. It’s the Big time fights now for Daniel Geale, and he’s got there on merit and thoroughly deserves the rewards that should come.
