Pedraza and Thomas Dulorme march up boxings rankings

November 8, 2013 – Two of Puerto Rico’s most talented boxers have marched their way up the rankings. Jose “Sniper” Pedraza (15-0, 10 KOs) is now ranked WBC No. 8 and WBA No. 11 in the Super Featherweight division and fellow countryman Thomas Dulorme (19-1, 14 KOs) is rated WBC No. 6 and WBA No. 5 at Super Lightweight. Both Pedraza and Dulorme are part of “Team Puerto Rico”, a promotional group consisting of Gary Shaw Productions, DiBella Entertainment and Universal Promotions. Continue reading

Rustam Nugaev and Jose Pedraza victorious on ESPN Friday Night Fights

1789 In the 10-round main event, Russian sluger Rustam Nugaev continued to impress the boxing world with a spectacular performance against a game Jose Hernandez. Both fighters had their moments in the early rounds. Hernandez would land combinations in spurts as did Nugaev, but it was the Russian who did the most damage in the exchanges. In the fifth round, Rustam landed a solid temple shot, followed by a vicious body blow that put Hernandez down and out. Nugaev never backed up during the fight and the pressure was too much for Hernandez who gave a valiant effort in defeat. With the KO victory, Nugaev moves to (27-4, 15 KOs) as Hernandez drops to (14-7-1, 6 KOs). The bout was stopped the 1:38 mark of round 5. Continue reading

All the fighters competing on ShoBox: The New Generation tomorrow/Friday, Oct. 12, live on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast) made weight on their first attempts Thursday at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, Mo.

In the eight-round main event, former international amateur standout and highly regarded Puerto Rican prospect, Jose “The Sniper” Pedraza (10-0, 6 KOs), faces southpaw Tevin “The American Idol” Farmer (7-3-1, 1 KO) of Philadelphia in a lightweight fight.

The ShoBox co-feature at Ameristar Casino will pit hard-hitting Dominican Jonathan “El Conquistador” Cepeda (12-0, 11 KOs), of Jersey City, N.J., against Lamar “The Boxing Que” Russ (10-0, 6 KOs), of Tallahassee, Fla., in a collision of unbeaten middleweights in an eight-round bout.
