Fight Aficionado

“Most of the sparring wars that take place at the Kronk Gym are far more exciting than the majority of fights shown on network television,” – Most press releases here at ESB are hype. Thing is I’ll bet a Benjamin Steward’s exactly correct on this point.

100% AGREED with Kid Blast – while stopping the clowns that couldn’t post without filthy language, or multiple-posts that were more like SPAM than real comments, this new Comments format is horrible – it spells the END of this website, watch & see …

The legendary Kronk gym and Kronk Team comprised some of the finest boxers of that era…. My favourites were Thomas Hitman Hearns, Steve McCrory (RIP), Jimmy Paul, Hilmer Kenty, Duane Tomas (RIP), Milton McCrory, Leeonzer Barber, Michael Moorer, Gerald McLellan not to mention so many other names such as Mark Breland, Mike McCallum etc… I got into boxing circa 1981 and it coincided with the rise to the top of Kronk…. Glory years ’81-87…. there will never be such a group of stars as the Kronk had in the 80’s, with the thermostat cranked up to dangerous, Manny Steward running things and my greatest boxer of all time Thomas Hearns standing tall above such and outrageous group of talent (both pro and amateur)… gym wars made ring wars easier…..

I boxed at Lightweight and had a real affection for Jimmy Paul, who was a massively unheralded and underrated champion and fighter…..

I wish the New Kronk continued success….

I think this new format has just about ruined ESB
