Williams overrated? Are you serious? The fighter beating top notch fighters in 3 divisions almost simultaneously, destroys in one round the only loss in his record, and one avoided by Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Pavlik? He was iron chinned never before ko’d and gets blasted by Sergio with one punch? Threw more than 1,000 punches against a prime, plaster wearing Margarito and still wins? Absolutely nothing overrated about Williams. He was done after Sergio destroyed him yet he still had the balls to soldier on against Lara and Ishida, world class fighters. Pwilly never took a break. Always took on the best.

I think Murray is better than Barker.he will give a good account of himself.

No the fight is being held in reality, where Sergio Martinez whoops his ass and reminds us all that English fighters are all hype. Amir Khan, Tyson Fury, David Price, David Haye, Ricky Hatton; ALL HYPE. As a matter of fact, England’s best fighter right now is Carl Froch ha ha ha, must be a sad place.

He has been taking the easy rode the whole time. He beat an overrated Williams and a boxer in Pavlik who wasn’t the same after Hopkins. And it looked like Martinez was gonna lose that fight until Pavlik got cut and he took over from there. He hasn’t fought that good of comp at 160 and he is the champ. He took on the weakest belt holder of the division to get a belt that Chavez really never deserved to have in the first place. He doesn’t answer the challenges of the titlest in his division accept for the weakest one. Martinez has been on a break since getting to 160

Martin Murray’s record is a list of wins against nobodies – and his draw with Sturm. Nothing to suggest he will be successful against Sergio unless he gets old overnight, can’t recover from his knee injury, or has trouble w the pressure fighting in Argentina. Hope it is a good fight though.

That makes one of us.

Peek, give the man a break. At least he’s unifying belts. And it’s not like Martinez was born with a silver spoon in the sport. The man has earned his position in the sport the hard way. In fact, for being a P4Per for the last couple of years and one of the most exiting fighters, the guy is still looking for the big payday. He makes less money than Canelo, who really hasn’t fought anybody yet and whose people are still looking for a way to fight the smaller and older Cotto even after he lost his last two fights rather than fight the guy who beat him.

What fights have you been watching? Martinez has fought nothing but the best in his Division and the majority was knocked out. There is no one at 160 who can beat him.

Martinez is not stepping up in his comp with any titlest in his division. If so he would have done it already. He chased down the weakest titlist in the division and before that fought pretty much low B level comp. Now after he had an injury everybody is like give him a break he is just coming off an injury and look who he has been fighting. Of course my response is no because he has yet to really fight the top contender in his division and he constantly calls out folks in lower weight classes and ducks people in his own division and in the division above

this aint going to be no easy fight for sergio martinez murray aint no joke he can fight he strong he covers up pretty good good solid jab and his technique is good he a solid all around fighter plus we dnt know how healthy martinez going to be as far as his knee how that going to held up how well he will move i think the speed going to be hard for martin to deal with tho martin going to have to try to time martinez he cant outspeed him it hard to go against martinez but i think martin going to give him a fight i think he do better then chavez jr did but i think he will still come up short tho martinez just on top of his game right now

U stand to be corrected, after watching Martin and Sturm fight, Sergio should KO Matrin inside of 10 or it will be a UD for Sergio

After seeing how Sergio fought against Chavez Jr. He would not fair well with a good fighter who can use the jab and right hand. Chavez Jr did not throw a jab at all and almost KOed Sergio, If Chavez started jabbing from the star and working the body like his dad was telling him, the fight would not have went the distance. I really don’t think Pot plays a big role in helping a boxer. actually it slows a fight reflexs by it effects on the brain. Ask anyone who Pot makes them feel after smoking it, they will not say it make them feel like the really take a punch and make them hyperactive. With Palvik, he was already a alcoholic and declining when Sergio fought hi and with Paul William,s, he time him prefectly because Paul would throw so many punches and leave himself open for counters. If Murray come to fight, he will beat Sergio, given the knee survey I don’t see Sergio moving a lot like his usually do, and he is not a big puncher or someone who can bang for 13 rounds, he will get tired after 5 rounds. Chavez Jr just didn’t use his jab to set up the body shots, if so Sergio would have been stopped by 10 round

Should b a win 2 Martinez, nice tune up b4 bigger name and pay day. Golovkin, Geale, quillin. Martinez has also said he could drop 2 jr middle 4 Floyd if that’s the case he could do the same 4 Alvarez…Sergio has lots of options. No need 4 rematch with Chavez that was a near shut out.

Don Quixote

I totally agree with you assessment of this fight.

It was NOT a controversial decision. Tomas Adamek won the fight as a true heavyweight deserves it. He had the stronger power punches and was chasing SC around the ring all night long, Adamek was the aggressor. You know, SC reminds me of Eddie Chambers whom also TRIED unsuccessfully to full the judges by running around the ring and sting occasionally like a bee or even less as a mosquito… IT does not work in heavy weight division guys… To Steve Cunningham, if you want to be a force to be reckoned with in heavyweight division then first thing you need to do is to stop listening to that trainer that you have ” Nazim ” whatever his last name is… he is stuck in a Cruiserweight prism and does not realize that you are fighting i a heavyweight division… you need to bulk up buddy and show that you are the aggressor with better power punch other than just an annoying flying mosquito… and dump that trainer and get one that has a heavyweight division experience or go back to cruiser weight you bum and to you all b***** out there stop wining how SC got robbed, he lost fair and square against a better TRUE heavyweight fighter. If SC fought like a true warrior and would engage Adamek like a real man then he would have get KFO period….
